Hi all,
Since a bit more than a week, Google refuses to upload mz new photos to GDrive (using the auto-upload function of the Photo app).
I now tried to "Clear data" of the Google+ app, as suggested somewhere, and what I get now is an indefinite "Updating library" and I am not able to do anything anymore...
Turning auto-upload on again does not help, it is just stuck forever :crying:
What can I do????
I have to say thanks to the Google forums for the hint.
I uninstalled the Google+ app updates, and it started uploading my photos... no idea why, but it worked!
I have exactly the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 running Android 4.4.4. Version 4.8, 4.7 (which I had a backup of). I only noticed the issue as I just reflashed a new custom Rom on my tablet and re-installed the latest Google+. The photo's app is stuck on updating Library. I have a version 4.4 backup on my Galaxy S2 phone running Android 4.4.4, so I have just copied it over and am trying it now. It's a real pain, as it drains my battery very rapidly.
Any idea of the underlying cause of why updating library in Google+ / Photo's is getting stuck?
I have set it to not Auto Backup photo's on my tablet, so I would assume it shouldn't be trying to index the local video's and photo's, but it just remains stuck so far.
Edit: Google Plus 4.4.3 was doing the exact same. So I ejected my SD Card which has quite a few video's, and suddenly the updating library completed. So it must be getting stuck on scanning my Sd Card contents.
As you saw in the Google forums thread, in my case the problem was solved by uninstalling all updates and then let it update itself normally.
The issue was most probably due to disabling too much of Google+ with Greenefy "Cut wake-up paths" feature, which I'm not using anymore.
In general, being too aggressive with Greenify can break some apps and you have to reinstall them from scratch. I experienced that with others as well.
Your case though seems different. Maybe format your SD or just remove the picture folder? If everything is upped to the Google servers already, then you're not losing much.

I am having issues with this "Google talk failed to authenticate" repeating pop-up and also noticed that I can no longer update or download apps from the android market. {the weird thing here -- I noticed this a few nights ago on the wife's TF101B, then yesterday it also happened to my TF101B -- both running Honeycomb 3.1 (PRIME 1.5 ROM) but neither my Dell Streak7, LG G2x or wife's Samsung Galaxy S4g which all run rooted variations of Froyo are having this problem -- installs, updates all run fine on the same google accounts}
Is anyone else having this issue with their Transformer -- possibly a Honeycomb or PRIME 1.5 ROM issue, an app market issue, or just google in their infinite wisdom???
When I searched the Forums I found these but it doesn't look like the same issue:
saw this thread in G2x and not the same deal -- I have not signed up for google+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154383
Since I don't live in the UK don't think this is my issue either
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915180
Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated, since previous attempts at getting quality support from google leaves a lot to be desired, Thanks in advance.
Have you by any chance used titanium backup to restore data? I've had the same problem previously when I restored account data through titanium backup....so to prevent the problem don't restore account data in honeycomb.
To solve it if you've accidently done that, just delete accounts.db which can be found in data/system/ (I think). Then reboot and add your google account back....once done make sure you go in to market and accept the T&C's before launching gtalk.
If you haven't used titanium backup then I dont know what could have caused it......but deleting accounts.db could still work.
Thanks for the reply, Yes I do have Titanium backup, have run systemwide backups of the TF101, and restored a couple apps (file manager, and voodoo sound) but not any system data.
I have never used google talk that I am aware of. I put the voice package/codec in for navagation when I first got the TF101 (about a month ago) but have not used the tablet for any voice/video calls etc. I am trying a full reset (after a backup of course) and if that doesn't work I will reset the google account and see if it helps.
update: 08/11/2011
I tried the reset and removing/re-entering my google account yesterday and it seemed to work, was able to update an app, but today I fire up the TF101 and I am back to the exact same issue google voice popup "failed to authenticate" and can't update or install apps from the android market. :-(
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? again it seems to be only my TF101 running Honeycomb 3.1 (PRIME 1.5) my DS7 and G2x are not having this problem and all are on the same google account.
Any help to resolve this, would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
I'm being absolutely plagued by error code 923 on my Nexus S vanilla ICS 4.0.4 rooted.
It seems to have started after the last update from 4.0.3. I've been all over the google and every forum I can find looking for solutions.
So far I've:
Deleted Google Play and reinstalled (rebooted)
Deleted all my accounts and put them back (also rebooted)
Followed this (although I don't see "Market Updater" on my phone):
getsatisfaction.com/omgpop/topics/error_923
Next step is a wipe and new ROM. Don't really feel like going to that kind of effort though, everything else works perfect.
Help!

I realized I was a little vague. It happens when I update apps in Google Play. Doesn't matter if I'm using 3G or Wifi and turning the screen off makes it happen a lot quicker. If I sit on the update screen and watch it, then it will usually work, but only one app at a time.

Nobody else has this issue? I'm pretty desperate
I went ahead and did a factory reset. For anyone else who stumbles along here from Google or elsewhere: YOU'RE DOOMED! There is no hope for the accursed 923 error. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
After flashing to cm10 on my ns4g i was unable to download from the market(getting error 927). I bypassed the market app, used the browser to download titanium backup from the web site, restored my backup and all is good downloading off the play store app.
To sum it up, if you're still having issues there is still the play store web site. Hope that helps.
Edit: i also tried all the fixes here on xda for that problem. None of them worked until i used the web site.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda premium
I recently purchased a TF300T. From the factory reset, I am able to download and install new apps. After a few days of usage, I realized I could no longer install apps. I followed the instructions for Google Play regarding this issue, however nothing seemed to do the trick. I did a reset again this morning and I have not updated the suggested apps - gmail, google music, etc. But I have installed my collection of apps including the new ones. Could this issue be related to an update for gmail or another app? I can not remember when the issue arose or when I updated the app.
Even though this issue is a pain, it has given me a chance to learn more about the tablet as this is my first android tablet.
What was the error message when you couldn't install?
Hello Helpful People,
Clearly we are a niche group who love our P8 Max. Wondering, does anyone else have the issue where Google Play Services stops working on their P8 Max? This has happened to me a fair bit and can only be resolved with a hard reset and reinstall. I now have rooted and removed some or most of the the bloatware, hoping this fixes it. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Michael
Hey michaeldanielbourke,
This has happened to me as well. Not sure what the cause is but I've done a few restores due to this issue. One thing I noticed is that when I launch Maps and it asks for my search history...if I say Yes, there is some process that happens that states that Google Play Services is no longer supported on my device.. Subsequent launches of the Play Store causes an open and close and I can't get it to launch. I also noticed that my Google account was automatically removed from Accounts in Settings. So far I've avoided this by not implementing Maps search history, but I'm not really sure what the root cause is.
If anyone has any other feedback please post. There's definitely some quirkyness with this device, but I guess that's expected with an imported device. Overall I'm really happy with it and prefer it over my Note 4. My Note seems like a toy compared to this ...but I keep my Note 4 around because it takes great pictures and video which I do a lot of.

Interesting. Well I rooted my phone (finally) and removed the bloatware and the Huawei account information. So, hopefully this should work. Shall update
Is your phone rooted?
Michael
Yeah I was rooted, but it was happening when I wasn't rooted. Before I rooted I took a nandroid backup, so right now I'm running with TWRP with no root.
12/2/15:
Just wanted to update this thread. I continued to have issues with my Google account. For some reason it would remove itself for no apparent reason, other than a conflict (I think) with the Huawei ID or Cloud ID that is built-into the phone. I seemed to have solved this by removing or freezing all of the installed Huawei services and apps (with root). I'm curious if other folks have had this issue as well.
With root and all of the Huawei apps frozen, the phone is really running well. The only downside for me is the camera image quality. It's not bad, but I'm kinda picky about family photos I take.
I still can't get over how my Note 4 looks like a toy compared to this phone. I hope Huawei continues to crank our larger format phones. 6.8" may seem big to many folks, but I think it works well.
Hello,
I have just installed tarkzim's Lineage OS 18.1 - the latest - version on my Z5 without Gapps. Unfortunately it turns out to be unusable because of a serious bug (at least on my phone it shows, and I have no better name for it than to call it a bug): launching the browser (indispensable on a smartphone) crashes the whole system and causes an immediate reboot.
I wonder if anyone else has encountered the same problem or if there is someone who has been able to fix this or has a workaround at least.
Otherwise I hope that the developer reads this here, too, and will look into the problem. For now my Xperia is bricked, but I will follow the development and forthcoming versions, of course, hoping for improvements.
I have another mobile - so I can live with that bricked one for a while ;-)
Hey,
I´ve got basically the same bug, but managed to play around a bit further. From what I could gather, the Phone crashes and reboots every time I open certain apps. I have Gapps istalled and notized two problems.
Crashes and reboot on startup of certain apps, like Chrome, pre istalled browser, Outlook, G-Mail, Mattermost or Amazon Shopping. Other apps seem to do fine. Firefox, k-9 Mail, Whatsapp, Telegram, Sotify work more or less without a problem.
Crashes and reboot on sign in. From the few that I tested, Vanced was the most interesting one because I could open and play Youtube Videos normally but it always crashed when I tried to log in. I could login through microg but since then my phone started to crash and reboot every few minutes. Uninstalling all vanced related apps did not solve the problem. Some apps crashed on sign in and since then werent able to get running again.
I really like the Lineage version, and I wouldn´t even mind finding the "working" apps using them (does´nt really matter to me if I use Chrome or Firefox) but certain apps I need to work like Mattermost.
I hope someone could help with our problem because I really want Lineage to work on the Z5. It feels so... clean and smooth.
Good to hear that someone else has similar issues with this LineageOS version - and regrettable, too, of course. Even without GApps it is unusable so far. But I really hope that this version is not the 'last word', and will continue improving. I know it is a big task for a programmer.
I have just seen that a new version is available. When I find the time, I will replace the version on my phone with the new one and report.
