Does anyone know if it's possible to connect, via the micro-HDMI, a ps4 to the shield tablet and use the tablet just for a display? I realize some people might think that's a waste of this wonderful tablet. I haven't been able to find any solutions yet. Thank you for any input!
Nope, the HDMI port on ST is output, not input. I don't think the hardware is even capable of working that way.

So I've seen videos showing that the touchpad does actually have usb host support in Android and WebOS.... anyone able to recommend a usb-vga adapter that might work? Kinda want to use the tablet for presentations at work into a projector
I don't think that this is possible, but not 100% sure.
So I like the idea of wirelessly projecting my android phone and/or tablet on my HDtv. Devices such as the AppleTV and now the Nexus Q are able to help me with this, but they are a little too expensive for what I want, which is just a wireless HDMI.
Anyone know a cheap way to wirelessly display what is on your tablet/phone on to your TV?
Maybe an app + a cheap hdmi device that is plugged into the tv?
Thanks for any help. This is important to me, and anyone else that buys, say, the Nexus 7 which probably won't have HDMI.
Does anyone have an idea whether its possible to use MHL + OTG with charging on the Skyrocket? Whether it be stock or an aftermarket rom/kernel doesn't matter. I can't seem to find a definitive answer on this phone, but I'm leaning toward not possible.
This is what I planned on ordering. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009LAZG2M/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would assume since the MHL adapter puts the device in charge mode, it wouldn't read the attached usb device (if using a hub or y adapter) since it is not in Host mode. Any have any experiance with this or have any links they can provide. It would be much appreciated!

I have the same cable and mhl works as long add the rom supports it. As for your question I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1741583&page=21 and on the last page there is a link for someone who got it to work on as3 however our phones have different pin configuration but you should be able to do the same thing as him
OTG while using MHL sounds like a great way to fry something important on your phone. it's clear the note 2 had something like this in mind with the smart dock. it looks like the smart dock works with the S3 so it could be that the way they designed the usb port it all just works as needed for this.
I'm interested in the usecase/motivation for doing both at the same time if you don't mind sharing.

Well my Skyrocket screen was destroyed by my youngest son So, I had an idea to use the old phone with the MHL adapter to connect to my TV (which is not a smart TV). The need for the OTG is to plug in peripherals such as kb/mouse, but after further review, i could probably just use bluetooth. The device itself doesn't need to have much storage really, all of the movies are being streamed from my mini home server (DLNA).
So instead of going out and spending 60 on a smart TV adapater, I figured I would try to make use of what I already had, a phone with a broken screen. I'm not even sure the digitizer works and I was unable to find a replacement screen a decent price. The phone has already been replaced with a Nexus 4, so I'm not really concerned with the "safety" of the skyrocket.
I think it would be nice to use it as a TV adapter, surf net, play games watch movies while in bed using a wireless mouse/keyboard.
You would think there would already be something like this out there...
I came across this, then noticed their statement "Use Bluetooth keyboard for wireless control" Which really tells me no OTG... and heard was broken ha.

Hello guys, So i buy today a Otg usb cable with the hopes of been able to play with my old Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 but i can make it work.
I connect the Adapter and the light is on but the buttons dont do anything. is not a battery issue because the Gamepad works on my computer.
And i try other things like a Mouse and Pendrives Otg and work just fine.
Any suggestions?
PD: Im on Stock Kitkat without root or anything
PPD: I Try with my Ps3 Dualshock3 controller and the light start because is charging but anything happen when i press the buttons....
I find the OTG capabilities of Moto G rather disappointing. When I read about Android and OTG before buying this phone I thought most of it would work out of the box. I' ve been struggling with OTG most ofbthe time. Took me ages to figure out where to find usb stick. I would also like to connect a gamepad to my device. Wiimote are no longer supported one new JB as I soon found out and it seems you need to root your phone for sixaxis to work. Too bad, i dont want to buy an extra BT gamepad for my phone.
Indeed Disapointed, and seems like noneones cares too much to make a solution, i search everywhere i know in the internet and i dont find anything, seems like the only gamepad that works right away is the Xbox one controller (that i dont owne). a little help from the developers would be very nice.
at least a straight answer to this subjet...
I have a wired xbox gamepad connected to my pc. Havent tried it yet. Might give i a try.
Hello all,
I just recently bought a PadTv TDH601 mini USB dongle so that I can watch TV on my smartphone or tablet. It works like a charm on my phone! I bought a mini USB adapter for my TF300 tablet and it recognizes when I plug in the dongle and that's it! I start to search for channels just like I did on my smartphone and it finds nothing. I do not believe that the dongle is fully communicating with the tablet. ASUS customer support is of no help at all with this issue. Has anyone here tried and succeeded to get the PadTv dongle to work with the tablet?

First of all, I have never tried that stick. USB access is possible only over the dock. That means the tablet has to be docked on. This way I did try to get running a data stick from my telephone provider without any result. The stick wasn't able to communicate fully with the tablet. What do you think about downloading of one of the many "Life TV Apps" the Play Store offers?

Thanks, but those apps do not give me what the PadTv dongle does. PadTv gives me live local channels, the apps you are talking about give me channels from other countries which I am not interested in watching.
