HTC one Verizon I been hacked towelroot?? Hacker program killing ram? - Verizon HTC One (M8)

I need some opinions I have a Verizon HTC one m8. I think I have been hacked. Reason why I say this is google sent and someone redeemed it.
History I unlocked boot loader with sunshine and rooted with towelroot. Is towelroot bad? Guess I learned my lesson to take out Sim and SD card when rooting
Things I have done changed all my passwords, ran cm virus, deleted towelroot, app locked all important, secured with pin
However my concern is something is running and killing my ram. I suspect this is the hacking piece any advice on finding this or other steps??

It does. Stock recovery too. But you will be rooted so you can download flashify and flash your custom recovery of choice. It would be a clean slate if you think you got malware.

Interesting thanks for tip !!! Hearing this issue u think that could possibly be only solution? For the Ruu I think u have a Zip File that must be on a fat32 SD card. Can u just run the ruu from there and I would still be rooted when complete?

Seems my anti virus and malware won't pick up but I notice my ram is higher than normal

You are s off so you will have whatever root app you desire until you turn s back on (don't do that?) You will have supersu already installed after running this RUU. If you aren't sure or want walked through it I can probably help later using team viewer if you want.

1. I just downloaded the ruu and stickers fix
2. I just put them on 2 ext cards on the root.
3.I'm going to boot into boot loader and the system should find the ruu
4. Run the ruu then boot back to bootloader to reboot right?
5.Use stock recovery to flash the stickers?
OK so it will still have root with super su right yes if u can help me that would be great!!!!!

Yes. Stickers fix is meant to be flashed in twrp after you reflash twrp so only one SD card needed there.
If you want to be able to flash your custom recovery from within the rom you can download and use the app flashify to do so.

How to upgrade to new latest Asus firmware through custom recovery

Check the device firmware type by going to Setting - about tablet - built number
Download the right firmware pack for your device.
http://www.asus.com/Tablet/Transformer_Pad/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_TF700T/#download
Now extract the zip file and you will have another zip file.
Rename that zip file as "EP201_768_SDUPDATE" and place it to an external sd card if you do not have a custom recovery. If you are rooted and unlocked plus you have a custom recovery you don't need to rename it you can place it in internal sd is well.
Now turn off your device. Hold power button including the volume down button and enter custom recovery. For stock recovery it should detect it automatically and will install. once in custom recovery clear your cache and install the file with the name above or whatever name you have. once installation is complete. reboot the system be patient and you have the latest update.
You can obtain root easily using this method.
Just download the DebugfsRoot_Generic_v2.3.zip file from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1706588
extract the content and run RootDebugfs, then follow the on screen instruction and you will have root.
Make sure you have USB debugging on.
To get custom recovery. Download goomanager from playstore and you can install TWRP recovery from the option list. which is Option - install OpenRecoveryScript.
I am not responsible if you mess up your device. do these at your own risk. Nonetheless these steps work perfectly for me.
Renaming is not needed.

Wrong, flashing an official rom will make you loose the custom recover too, you will have a clean stock rom once you do that. AND also this thread has nothing to share with the development forum.

Where in there? Can;t find it?
1) If I am on a custom ROM can I flash the new update or I have to go back to STOCK first?
2) What's the big deal with loosing CWR and Root, it takes like 2 min to put it back, I mean there is another way to not loose it?
Thanks
I also have a question! Will this allow for OTA updates even if our bootloader is unlocked? And will we be able to flash the JB update from ASUS manually if not? Anyone know?

Yes. of course you can flash manually just like any other rom.

You don't need to have stock rom. As long as you have the stock kernel your ok. You will of course lose custom recovery but its easy to download again as i have mentioned in my first post.
There is a lengthy way to do this. But why do that when it takes you literally 2 minute to root it with DebugfsRoot .
Hope it went well for you.

[Q] OTA Update for an XE

Hey,
Last night I got a system update message and on reboot it loaded clockworkmod and now I can't install the update
I rooted and installed the mod before but I never use it...
How can I disable clockworkmod or deleting it so I can get the official update (I would much prefer that)
Thanks,
PS. I have read other posts about this online but the problem have been slightly different and with other phones so the wrong files, i'm guessing

If yes just download and run the RUU exe from here. This will put you on that software version.

no, 3.33.401.106 is the next one then it is 3.33.401.153
However, you can just flash the RUU and it will put you on 3.33.401.153 without having to flash 3.33.401.106 - also because you are rooted the OTA file may fail to run whereas the RUU wont.

Regardless of whether my hoster's website is down, my FTP remains up so you can still download the file using the link I posted. Its self explanatory and comes with instructions within the installer, it will wipe your phone so I would suggest doing a nandroid backup of data only then restoring data from a custom recovery (you will have to reflash the custom recovery after the RUU has finished because it will return you to stock recovery)

[Q] Please Help! Phone Bricked (Noob Problems)

Hey all, sorry if this seems like other questions being posted, but I can not get my phone to work even after attempting the other fixes posted on the forums. I rooted my phone and was running the stock rom that came preloaded with it. I attempted to install CM10 through Rom Manager to no success, so I then tried to manually flash it as well as Gapps. My phone initially got stuck at the CM10 bootloader, but i could still go into CWM Recovery 5.8.3.1. After trying to get the rom to work more, it seems as if all I can access is CWM Recovery and nothing else. My phone wont even boot into the bootloader anymore and all i have access to is CWM Recovery.
I am not the most tech savvy individual when it comes to this since it has been ages since i tinkered with roms, but I would really like to fix this. So heres the facts since my post is so long (sorry!):
-Phone WILL NOT go into bootloader
-Can ONLY ACCESS ClockworkMod Recovery (5.8.3.1)
-SD Card wont mount (I get error "E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)")
I really just want to go back to stock and root again from scratch to reduce any errors like this from occurring in the future and ANY help would be appreciated because I am totally lost and without a phone now. To make things even more difficult, I only have access to a Mac running Lion....although i do have Windows 8 through the use of a bootcamp program, so I CAN run windows programs. Thank you all for any information you may have!

Hi,
If you are s-off,you have no need for a Token.
Place the ROM on the root of your sd card
Just make a nandroid in recovery(look for "Backup")
Then,wipe phone and install ROM

Once it is all installed, you can delete the ROM and Gapps from your sd card.

Hi,
What recovery do you have?
If you have 4EXT,then,go to wipe and format all partitions except sd card.
Gapps is a zip like the ROM.
Go to install ROM,choose ROM and select the ROM.
When that has finished, then,do the same with Gapps.
USB debugging is not necessary.

actually i don't have any recovery created yet. i've installed the 4EXT, but when trying to run it.. it tells me the following:
it seems your Rom wasnt rooted yet!
this app needs root access to work. If this isn't an error you'll be unable to use it!
but my phone is unlocked and s-off.. so i thought that's rooted?

ok.. after some reading, i see this one is to do S-OFF then temp root.
i originally did the HTC dev unlock, then Juopunutbear for S-Off, and now need to root.
* correction.. it did work.. but now i can't access my home screen at all now

Hi,
Look HERE
4A. Flashing Root
i must be doing something wrong for sure. i looked into 4A and realized that my recovery that was installed was the TWRP on from the all in 1 kit. when i went back into the all in 1 kit to install the 4EXT, everything went through, but when i try to go into recovery, it just end up rebooting it self back to home screen and won't let me go into 4EXT to do what i need to do for 4A.

Hi,
Use the guide I gave you.
2. Flashing a recovery.
Flash 4 EXT again.
i think my mistake was assuming the HTCdev unlock = root.
cus now i see i should've HTCdev unlock -> root -> JB guide. but instead i just went from unlock to JB guide without rooting.

if you have now unlocked bootloader then flash 4ext recovery as it was mentioned before
and flash this zip from recovery
http://download.chainfire.eu/310/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.04.zip
then if you still want to S-OFF follow this guide

Ota 1.21.617.3

Are there any working procedures to take this OTA. I am rooted, unlocked, ability to boot TWRP, and ability to go S-OFF. How do we take this update?
Right now, only way is RUU to 1.15.617.4 then take update.

Yes I know, you need an untouched System Image. Since you were rooted, uninstalling Magisk and becoming unrooted, it was still touched. Right now there is only one way to take OTA, that is downloading RUU.zip. Placing it on SDcard and booting to download mode. You will also need to have a 32Gb SDcard as mode will not see the zip. Once you are completely stock you can take the OTA.

Dude, no need to wait. This is the only solution right now and might be ever. I had to do it too, even restoring system.img from ruu.zip in twrp didn't fix it, because there are other partitions tempered too

I'm not sure why everyone had to ruu. I just flashed back stock boot img and it went fine.

For me and others with magisk installed it didn't worked out. Flashed stock boot, but something else seemed to be triggered...needed to flash ruu and take backup with twrp of the system_image and vendor_image in case something goes wrong again . Leedroid fixed it with those backups

The OTA failed for me also. I am also having trouble flashing an RUU. Can anyone point me to one? A guide would be great too as I am sort of a noob.
I have tried everything...asked everywhere.... Nothing at this time. I would love a guide.....nothing yet.
I am going on a few days with little sleep but can someone clarify why we need the OTA and can't just flash the firmware once available?

You got a device with permanent S-OFF? Flashing back boot seams to work on those, but on S-ON/unlocked devices with temporary S-OFF another partition seems to get tempered and checkt later on during the OTA process. Don't know which on, but all S-ON devices, that had been unlocked and rooted up to now had to RUU back to take the OTA successfully. Applies to such fellow members as @LeeDroid as well. So I'm wondering what you did different to all those affected.

No I have a regular production device. Just like normal, I don't use Xposed and never mounted system RW so just flashing back the stock boot img worked fine for me...same as on previous devices. One other possibility is my device shows status official (sunshine does that), maybe the ota update is checking that.

Well that might be it. Will run sunshine and test again, as soon as I got time and restored the software state back to official.
Edit: hope I understood correctly. SunShine does temp S-OFF and set the flag back to official from modified in the same step, right @beaups!?

When running Sunshine, is the Software changing from Modified to Official a temporary thing as well? Or lets say i run Sunshine once will it always display Official when booting to bootloader/Download mode?

Finally flashed an RUU. used this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/how-to/collection-htcu-u12-ruu-firmware-t3794664
post 3 number 1 (sd card method) must have <32gb micro sd. It wouldnt allow me to flash through USB. IDK why.
The RUU came from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76606102&postcount=2
in process of installing OTA and it is working.
