Sideload a ROM to the phone via your custom recovery, in CWM it can be done via the Install.zip then Iinstall zip from sideload, once selected you need to move your custom ROM to the ADB folder then use the command in adb cmd (adb sideload FILENAME.zip)

Okay, we'll focus on just flashing the ROM as we can do Gapps later when the phone is working
First download your chosen from and move it to the adb folder
Then boot your phone into CWM and select install.zip and sideload install.zip. Then follow the onscreen instructions

ADB is a folder on your PC where you have extracted this (I recommend root of hard drive http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#download)

nvm I used my pc's device manager to work adb
I did something stupid like this yesterday. If you have a recent enough TWRP, you can use the Advanced-> sideload app option with adb to download a rom to where you can install it using twrp.

All you have to do is put the rom zip on your micro sd card, then TURN OFF your device. Now boot into twrp then select install by browse to the micro sdcard to select the rom zip file.

[Q] Wiped and not working HTC One S [s4]

Good day everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am in desperate need of your help. I recently purchased a HTC One S from an online store they told me it was new never used locked phone. Turns out phone was rooted, 4g does not work, and it could not recognize e drive, (internal sd card)
After reading the all in one i re-rooted it and install the teamwin version of recovery.
Now i never had any back ups or any factory files. as i got the phone rooted with software that did not work. My phone now has no rom and i cannot install from adb sideloader, or an other means. I am new to this and cannot seem to figure out how to get my phone back to even stock un-rooted etc. I tried multiple forums and download links but nothing.
i was able to install vipers rom at one point but despite several attempts to reinstall. recovery does not see files loaded. which i can see on my mac or pc.
the other strange thing i notice is that at the top in fastboot mode i sometimes see unlocked in pink only and other times i see both unlocked and tampered. when its unlock only none of my computers recognize connection.
I also tried boot.img for flash. The furthest my screen no goes is the htc logo, then goes black.
Please help, even to just point me in rite direction to have this resolved.
the boot.img, did you flash it via fastboot? (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
And, one question that comes to mind... they sold you a device as new, yet it wasnt.. Why didnt you return it?

Yes I tried several times loading the boot.img via fastboot.
As far as returning the device i trashed the mailing box but kept original packaging so no return address. I called the company which i made the purchase from "N1wireless" several times and sent several emails to them. They have yet to reply or answer any of my calls. Which is why I am so frustrated.

Boot into recovery, select mount > mount usb storage. From pc move the Rom.zip to your sd card which should now be showing on your pc. After it is moved to your phone select unmount then press home button in twrp recovery. Then install the Rom. After install open up adb and type adb reboot bootloader then press enter. Now fastboot flash the boot img from inside the Rom.zip on your computer. After that reboot your phone and report back

Hi, thanks for the reply, thats just the thing I cannot in recovery install any rom loaded to sd card. It fails. I tried reinstalling the recovery and it still not reading my sd card.
So my guess is i need a new twrc or how to do it from my mac, as now when i try on my pc it is failing as-well. Once I get the recovery to work I will try your other suggestions as I think it will work based on the steps you mentioned.
I am trying to figure out how to use terminal to reinstall recovery. any suggestions or links will be greatly appreciated.:good:
you install recoveries through fastboot, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I reinstalled recovery several times now and it wont recognize the sd card. is there another recovery i can download and use? Also is there any instructions for a newby to use terminal to re-boot, everything from scratch. Meaning if the phone is completely blank except the fast boot and a recovery manager no backups or stock kernel etc. what is the format to be used in order for the computer and recovery to recognize the sd card?
I think I need a good recovery rom like cmod if there is one for the htc one s or the stock one if someone has it.
hi i had that problem

I had that problem the sd card would not be seen by my laptop and the phone would not boot at all if you plug in the phone to your go to start and then computer right click on your c drive go to manage and see if you can see it there if so try to format it and then reboot the phone if it works you can then install cwm as a recovery system then you can put what rom you wont on it i am use in zenRom 1.05 and to me its the best coz it like the htc rom that the phone come with if that don`t work let me know coz i have more tricks to try i hope this helps you out.
Theres only TWRP and CWM for the S afaik, and CWM sucks. TWRP is the one to use.
I had a similar problem a few days ago, luckily there's not such a bad solution.
1) Pick a custom ROM you want to install from the HTC One S developer forums (I went with Trickdroid) and download the ROM/boot image.
2) Then download and flash the stock recovery here: http://www.4shared.com/file/1UuxTh0k/stock_recovery.html
3) Boot into bootloader, clear storage and then reset to factory defaults.
4) Flash TWRP
5) Reboot into recovery, sdcard should now be mounted/visible
Then push the ROM to your sdcard with adb or mount USB storage and flash it/flash the boot image and you should be sorted.
Edit: Here's where I got the solution from btw (post #8):

got it. will try it asap.
I could not get the stock recovery via that link you provided. If there is another link to the stock I would appreciate it. I had to flash it wit cwm twice then reflash with twrc to get it to identify the sd card. i had tried the viper rom but my 4g and wifi doesnt work. Will try trickmod hopefully that works with no more issues

Xoom Wifi Help

Hi all,
Was working on stock xoom that was running the latest 4.1.2 OTA. Ran through the process of unlocking, then rooting using the needed files, adb and fastboot commands from OSX via USB connection (usb debugging, etc. enabled) and seemed to work. However now when i boot all i get is the moto logo. I can power+volup to get into fastboot mode or into Android system recovery and do reboot, apply update from ADB or USB Drive, Wipedata/Factory Reset or wipe cache partition. Was trying to unlock and drop the latest CM 10.1 nightly or M2 on here. Any suggestions appreciated. Not sure if I can push the CM .zip file via adb, etc onto the device. Appreciate anything to try to get it back functioning

Most likely, it depends on if you do a full wipe between installs and what is done in the nightly.

No OS installed on oneplus one. PLEASE HELP!

So while I was testing a kernel my phone wouldnt turn on anymore, it was getting stuck on the boot loop, so I tried a lof of things but still didnt get it to work, finally I wiped all the partitions, even the system, I am available to use TWRP and fastboot mode but it says theres not an OS installed. Im very frustrated as its been a few days already without phone.... So i would be very thankful if you could help and please be very specific since my english is not very good, I am learning, thanks again.
If you connect your phone to your PC while you're booted into TWRP you should be able to copy a ROM zip from the PC to the phone.

I was flashing CM12 nighty on my OPO. Accidentally I wiped the whole system in recovery i.e I factory data reset my phone. Now when I boot It says NO OS INSTALLED. when i connect my phone during recovery it comes in the disk drives as "One". When i open it it has a folder named TWRP and inside that a file. I also have a nandroid backup of the phone when it ran SuperSU binaries on my PC. Can i transfer the backup to my phone via USB and restore them in recovery? Would that work? I tried adb sideload ROM.zip but after that command lot's of coding appears in CMD and then nothing happens!! So i just wanna know if I restore the nandroid backup would my phone work? I have TRWP installed! Please any help would be appreciated! Plzz help. :crying:

Honor6 plus stuck at logo while rooting

While trying to root and after twrp is installed completely, I wanted to install beta-supersu v2.48 zip, its successfully installed.
But couldn't boot my device again, it's stuck at second honor logo.
After that, I tried to do the all process again, but same.
I've tried to wipe cash, data,l and dalvik many times but not succeeded.
Finally, I wiped again same before and wiped system (not internal memory), but nothing.
Now, stuck at first logo but I can access recovery which is twrp and can access also fast mode.
Am I still could access all data in my system or it should be deleted?
Help me please
I'm on 6.0 android emui 4.0.1
My device model is PE-TL10
Use the multitool and unbrick option
Thanks for quick response, I've it but how to do exactly?
What do? Which files should I use?
Will it delete my data??

Download stock rom, and doesn't wipe data. There are in depth instructions in the multitool telling you what to do step by step
But till now by my way did I do anything that delete my data?
And where to get rom or update file?

Search huawei update finder team mt to find rom
You wiped the data partition so yes you most likely wiped the phone clean.

So you think already deleted but I didn't wipe internal memory as I said.
And it's till me in wiping process it's usually to wipe that 3 partitions but I added to them system partition later.
And about update files I've read ota files and another is oem stock recovery, which one should I use and will be better to to found ball data?
And if I can't recover my system how to recover all data later after Installing new system ?

Just use Huawei hisuite to backup all your contacts, apps. Notes, pics etc to your PC.
Flash boot and image files from the firmware you were using and restore your backup using hisuite.
Another way is to flash stock recovery from the latest firmware and then use dload method to force upgrade your phone and restore the backup.

Oh. I apologise. You can use adb to make a backup of apps and system but in your case you don't need system partition so still at a loss.
So u mean I lost my data already and no way to find them?
What about after installing new stock recovery? Can I use any program to recover lost data and apps?

Flashing stock ROM via fastboot doesn't wipe your data. Is your bootloader unlocked? Next time please make a TWRP back up (even if it's just system partition) before you flash anything.
Yes sure it's unlocked, but that way am I still can access my files?

Actually bootimage support is required for it .
So first root with system less and later with system based root.

Boot into TWRP recovery.
Enable access to System
Enter ADB mode (I'm on stock recovery so can't check; maybe it's auto) install minimal ADB and fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Install. Connect phone to PC.
Run ADB command prompt
Type ADB devices
Your device should show
Then type
ADB pull /sdcard/
It's should begin copying all files in your SD card to your C:/ drive
