nvm I used my pc's device manager to work adb

I did something stupid like this yesterday. If you have a recent enough TWRP, you can use the Advanced-> sideload app option with adb to download a rom to where you can install it using twrp.

All you have to do is put the rom zip on your micro sd card, then TURN OFF your device. Now boot into twrp then select install by browse to the micro sdcard to select the rom zip file.

I had a very similar 'No OS' problem and I wasn't sure if I would be able to reboot into recovery but thank you for answering my question!

[Q] how to remove ClockworkMod Recovery from nexus s ?

I unlocked and rooter my nexus s and after than I am enable to reboot it "normally" ... Each time I reboot it, I get ClockWorkMod.
How can I uninstall/remove ClockWorkMod from my Nexus s or prevent it from loading when I reboot it?
Thanks
Try downloading a ROM and transferring it to the phone. In Clockwork recovery you can go to "mounts and storage" and then mount usb so you can connect to your computer. Copy the ROM over to the root of your internal /sdcard and flash it, unmount usb, then flash/install the ROM in the main recovery menu.
Yes, flashing a stock Rom may do the trick.

Is it possible to restore the original ROM? if so, where can I download one?
It is the first sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Maybe I'm missing something, but unless he installed a custom rom, wouldn't flashing a new rom be like replacing the engine to try to fix a dead battery? If it's booting recovery when it should be booting system, could that be a problem with the bootloader or mount points (or could recovery have overwritten the system partition)?
Flame me if you want to. I'm just asking.
I interpreted his problem as CWM was staying as recovery when he was expecting stock recovery to return after reboot. I thought he wants stock recovery.

I thought he couldn't boot any ROM and was stuck booting into recovery every time.

Yes it's the case: every time I reboot, CWM is loading ... and no ROM to load.
I finaly downloaded a ROM from (a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip ... because I'm new to this forum, I am not authorized to post links) and with the help of a few commands I got back android 2.3.4.
To summarize what I have done:
- download a14a2dd09749.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI40.a14a2dd0.zip
- put it in the tools frolder of android SDK
- rename it update.zip
- send it to the device: adb push update.zip /sdcard/update.zip
- in CWM select: Install ZIP from sdcard
- then select: Choose ZIP from sdcard ... it then installed the ROM
- reboot
So now, I have my (new) android ROM loading back.
I think at the beginning, I have done something wrong when install CWM ... I think I installed it not as recovery boot but as normal boot.
Is there any complete guide to avoid such error?
Thanks

I suppose <fastboot flash system cwm_recovery.img> would do that. If that command is in a guide somewhere, I'm getting my flamethrower out.

[Q] One S in recovery loop

Hi! I have One S rooted and custom ROM PACman flashed. I used clockwork recovery.
Today, I tried to flash a kernel named Bulletproof. I used CW to flash it. After flashing, my phone is not starting, It has gone into recovery loop. If by using the volume button I go to hboot and then to recovery, to reinstall the ROM, it stays in CW for just few seconds and then restarts again. If I try to perfom some actions, it says SD card not mounted.
Need help please ASAP!

Mohib

Go into Fastboot USB and flash the stock recovery - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/92451927/STOCKS4.img
Then boot into bootloader, click recovery, this should fix the unmountable SD Card bug.
Then when the phone attempts to boot, soft rest the phone then load into bootloader. Click on fastboot and when it says fastboot USB flash TWRP 2.3.3.0.
Reboot the phone.

Ok I did this and flashed TWRP. It didn't work, so I flashed CW again. It rebooted. It showed the bootscreen of PACman and then rebooted to recovery. I then tried to install zip from the SD, but it said can't mount sdcard!
Whats going wrong?? Any suggestions?
Reinstall the stock recovery and then click Clear Storage on the boot loader screen. You will lose everything on your SD card. Then repeat the rest of the above process as normal. I can't remember if I said to flash the boot.img before installing the OS, but if you didn't flash the boot.img before installing the OS then do that.

Oh thank god its done!!
I cleared the storage and reflashed the recovery and boot.img. But the phone didn't start. So I went to recovery to "install from sd", but it said that there are no files (as I had cleared the storage). Then I got the idea to mount it as USB from the mount menu in CW. It worked and I copied the ROM to SD card and installed it from the recovery. Now my phone is alive again!!
Thanks for you help!

Did i brick my phone?

Hello, i recently installed the new official lollipop 5.0 android, however it was working like crap so i decided to change with custom firmware.
Heres what i did.
Unlock bootloader
install custom recovery
root with super SU
install custom rom.
It worked, and android started up, however, i cant connect to cellular network anymore, i waited like 10 minute to detect it but it wont, then i tried a different rom, didnt help. Did i bricked my phone? Is there anything to do?
Im with Virgin canada
Thanks
Can you access the bootloader? If yes, then you did not brick it. You probably didn't completely wipe the stock ROM before you flashed the custom one. Also, not a good idea to flash SuperSU before flashing your ROM.
Everything is working has usual, except i cant connect to LTE anymore. I flashed TWRP instead of Clockwork recovery, ill try again with this one...
From where you are now with TWRP installed:
1. In TWRP, go to "Wipe" then go into the advanced wipe options and wipe every partition except the internal storage.
2. Flash ROM.
3. Flash Gapps if needed.

Push the ROM zip file to your phone from within TWRP, don't sideload it. You shouldn't even need to do that though. TWRP now supports MTP so your internal storage should appear when you connect the phone to the PC when you're in TWRP.
So you went from having possible APN issues to completely wiping your device? Slow down before you actually do brick it. Read the stickies. All the info you need is already here.

Well, did you flash a ROM or factory image? Earlier you said there was no ROM installed.
And about that TWRP issue...not too sure. That could be the recovery_from_boot.p file restoring the stock recovery. Are you seeing an android with a red exclamation point?

Nope no red exclamation point, when i choose recovery mode, the Google boot screen appear, then the Teamwin logo appear for a few second, then screen goes black and then google logo is back, and finnaly android boot up...
Ah well i think i fixed the recovery, i used an older version and now its starting properly.

Which ROM is this? And since you've already wiped the SD card once and the ROM won't boot, why not just flash the factory image so you'll have a clean slate to start with?
Factory image = Official firmware?

I deleted my OS

Oh no! The curse of the NEWB. So after some amazing help, I managed to root my phone and install TWRP. YAY! Then what did I do, I wiped my OS by mistake. NOW I just have TWRP. I am not sure if can fix this. Can I?
Did you take a backup using TWRP first? If not you'll need to find a ROM to load via TWRP.
Are you sure that deleted OS or is your phone just booting always in TWRP?

You need to flash a andorid on it,
first you need to understand how it works....u have a recovery as a base, so you can reach the components you want....
then you have the OS f.e. Android, this is missing on your phone.
All we need is a zip flashable ROM.
So on TWRP we can't use the dload method, so we need a OS in .zip format to flash it with TWRP.
Link above go in TWRP flash zip choose zip from ext. SD card
btw i have the same problem...
thought a wipe would be good...

Do NOT do this. If you do this it will remove any chance of recovering, BUT if you know how to replace TWRP with the Stock Revovery, then skip this, because you obviously know what you are doing. All you need to do it download any ROM.zip made for your phone, onto a computer. Then move that ROM.zip to a micro SD (TF) card and insert that into your phone. boot into recovery and flash that ROM.ZIP. If you are having trouble still, charge your phone completely while off, then do a complete wipe and flash the ROM.zip again. Iif that doesn't work, wipe (factory reset, not system wipe) then your phone should boot properly.
Hey be thanks full !
you can install a custom Rom (cyanogenmod or etc) and boot your phone and then go to setting and enable USB debugging and reboot your phone to boot loader by ADB and install stock recovery and then try to install OTA updates.
if you found any Method for deleted OS and how to reinstall OS with stock recovery about P8 lite e-mail me !!

Download twrp.img from official site
Flash it through your present recovery.
After it format everything data, internal storage, dalvik, cache.
Reboot twrp

You got a option in recovery to enable mtp
If you select keep read only partition them you can only read you can't format or write anything.
When TWRP starts it shows this option Keep read only partition. Many of guys check this and swipe.so they have problems to flash and wipe anything.
Connect a mmc using card reader with PC.
Copy custom ROM
Select install
Select mmc
Select file
Wait for process done
Wipe dalvik,cache
Reboot phone.
