[HELP RRU] HTC One M8 - General Questions and Answers

Hi all I've scoured the internet to the best of my abilities and can't seem to get this working.
I'm trying to go back to stock from Cyanogenmod. I've put the stock recovery 2.16.651.4 on my phone from here:
http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...1-54-651-8-OTA&p=299475&viewfull=1#post299475
And then have tried to do both the SD card Hboot as well as the Fastboot methods of installing the Sprint_HTC_One_M8_2.16.651.4_RUU.zip from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2729173
When I attempt the Hboot method it quickly finds the zip and says something about flashing and a vertical progress bar goes quickly. If I select recovery the phone reboots and gives me a red triangle with an exclaimation mark. If I select factory reset the phone reboots and I get a circle with two arrows before the phone reboots back into fastboot.
If I attempt RUU from fastboot I end up with a FAILED (remote: 32 header error).
At this point I'm kind of stuck any help would be appreciated.

[Q] Problem with RUU update?

So my Evo 4G messed up recently because I tried to flash Synergy's rom on it (I used unrevoked to root and had Clockwork Recovery) and it failed because it couldn't update the boot.img file (I'm definitely new at all this stuff). When I tried to start up my phone, it would just take me into bootloader. I couldn't restore anything because of the boot.img not being updated, for some reason I don't know why. After getting tired, I googled around on how to fix it, and I read about the PC36img.zip. Naturally, I downloaded and put it on my sd card and let it read from bootloader, but boot still was failing to update. I tried the PC36img.zip that is compatible with HBOOT 2.10.0001 and that was a no go. After it failed, my recovery would just show up as a red triangle and exclamation mark. Then I read about the RUU, so I tried to run it and yet again, "boot" would NOT update. SO now my phone just showed the htc logo in the middle with 4 exclamation marks in the corners of the screen, and when i unplug the usb it gives me the bootloader screen, except it only shows RUU highlighted in orange. Then I used the program "fastboot commander" and after messing around trying to flash zips and recoveries and boots and such, I somehow managed to get my phone to load into bootloader properly on my next start up (using volume down and the power button). I went into recovery and it was now Amon-Ra's (so I guess I flashed an amon-ra recovery zip), but I had no backups. I threw the rom "SavagedZen(MOD)-RC2-Evo4G" on my sd card and flashed it, and it worked. So my worries were over, until I decided that I wasn't going to mess with this rooting stuff anymore. That's when I got unrevoked-forever-son and put it on my sd card and flashed it, which made the phone s-on. Then I thought "okay since my phone is working, the RUU will work now" since I wanted the stock rom. So I ran the RUU again and the boot still did not update, so now I'm back to the htc logo with 4 exclamation marks in the corners, and I now have s-on so everything I try to flash through fastboot commander fails and my bootloader isn't even working because it only shows RUU in orange.
So here is my question: What can I possibly do now to fix my phone? (handing it to Sprint doesn't sound fun)
And sorry for the huge story, I just wanted to put everything I did in there to see if it contributed to the problem.
I'm hoping the easiest way is to just run an RUU but my boot is rejecting every update so far, so I have no idea what to do...
Anyone know a solution?

[Q] HTC Desire - Firmware issues

Hi all,
I have a strange issue and i am not sure if this hs been discussed before (Looked everywhee and i cannot seem to find an answer).
The Problem: I have a Desire S and i am in Australia (Carrier: Telstra), It was working fine without any issues and i had installed Generic European Firmware in the phone, Since this morning, when the battery died the phone has been on a white screen that says hTc and nothing happenns.
I went to HBOOT and tried recovery and everything that i could, downloaded customs rom tries installing through PC and through memory card but nothing happens.
This is what my phone shows when i go into HBOOT
SAGA PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT -6.98.2000 (PG8811000)
RADIO- 3822.10.08.04_M
eMMC - boot
Feb 24 2001, 21:19:05
Options that i can play around are:
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY- goes back to hTc Logo and later on come up with green recycle sign and immediately after that phone icon with exlamation mark.
FACTORY RESET- goes back to hTc Logo and shows a green installation sign on the phone icon just below that progess bar with memory card at the end and goes back to hTc logo in white and stays like that.I have a Telstra's ROM (telstra.zip) in the SD Card
SYSTEM INFO
IMAGE CRC
any ideas on how can i install something on it, or do i need to send it back to HTC.
Please help!
You can install custom ROM only via Recovery. You need custom recovery for that.
The red exclamation mark confirms that you have stock recovery (press Vol UP + Power and you will enter), but it is short of options (reboot, install update.zip and wipe cache) You can try to install telstra.zip with the second option but then you will have troubles with your hboot version - 6.98. There will be a conflict with the one in the telstra.zip so you will have the white screen and logo again.
So you have 2 options:
1) flash custom Recovery via fastboot command /or Android flasher - it is easier/ and then custom ROM
2) flash eng 0.98.2000 hboot via fastboot command /or Android flasher/, then use a RUU to restore to complete stock

in a loop and no recovery :(

hi, ive not tried updating xoom for over a month now, i was on nightly 34 or something, anyway it kept saying there was a system update so i agreed to update, it kept downloading then saying verification failed.
I went to a thread on here where it said it had stock ICS and downloaded it, put it on sd card and did the usual procedures, it rebooted and it now stuck on a screen with loads of blue, green, red and orange squares appearing, like a loading screen or something, was stuck there for like 20 mins so i reset using power and volume up, then tried to enter recovery with volume down but it gets stuck on a screen "starting fastboot protocol support" and goes no further, can any1 help me out here please? thank you
If you are unable to boot into the recovery you are going to have to flash a new recovery using Fastboot. Check out the guides on how to flash a recovery using fastboot under the dev sub forums. There are guides there on how to get to fastboot from a cold boot as well as the commands that you use use with cmd on your PC.

[XT1541 16Gb] - Update caused boot loop, cannot flash ROM

Hi all,
I just tried to update my XT1541 (I didn't see what version it was to, sorry), but was rewarded by an endless boot loop -- the phone wouldn't progress past the white splash screen, and lasted about 15-20 seconds per cycle.
Holding the [Volume Down] button got me to the bootloader screen, from which I was able to go into recovery. However, this only displayed an error message, 'No command found', with a red warning symbol over the android image.
I could get round this, however, by holding down [Power] then [Volume Up], and was able to both wipe the cache and do a factory reset. Neither of these helped fix the issue, however. I am unable to flash from the SD Card, either, as attempting this results in the error message, 'internal and external memory cannot be mounted'.
At this, point, I imagine I can try adb and fastboot, but does anyone have any guidance first?
Go into that bootloader screen and flash the stock rom with fastboot.

Ach, now I can't unzip the factory ROM -- sparsechunk.4 is broken and refuses to be extracted :/

Make sure you have downloaded the correct version for your device or try to download it again.

XT1033 Brick, need advice

Ok, let me explain the situation, i'll try to cover up everything i've done, So, please read my whole post first.
The situation of the device is it able to go through bootloader and recovery, it load the animation and logo, but after it the screen is blank (i can see the "android is upgrading", strange it just only 2 apps then nothing)
no sign of life in the blank state, i've tried to press the power up quite times, no sound. Blank state = slightly bright black.
First, i tried to "factory" within the bootloader. it failed, result is blank screen.
Second, i tried the wipe data/factory reset in the recovery, it throws errors.
Third, i tried to flash TWRP. The procedure is finished successfully (complete), but when i tried to boot to the recovery it enter the stock recovery.
Fourth, i tried [5.0.2][Restore to Stock][XT1033] Asia Retail [Dual Sim][4.4.2/4.4.2][LockBootloader] method, i tried the manual one to make sure everything is done supposedly. The only thing that failed is when i tried the last step, mfastboot.exe oem lock. Still then I reboot the phone, blank screen.
Fifth, i tried [HOW TO] Unbrick Moto G 2013! [Falcon, Peregrine] [Lollipop guide], but i'm stuck at step 7 where my phone only detected as "Android Android USB Device"
Another info that might needed is my bootloader is unlocked.
i've also tried the latest KK rom and L rom, and tried flashing under win7 and win10. Both result in blank screen.
Any idea before i jump intio a dead emmc conclusion?
Not sure it'll help, but maybe try updating to the latest adb/fastboot. Mfastboot isn't really necessary anymore, latest fastboot should be ok for heavy loads
just boot into recovery using following cmd
fastboot boot (ur recovery name)
without brackets it will boot ur device in recovery then wipe and install the custom ROMs.
