Weird Apk Install Problem - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't click on the Install button when trying to install an APK. The screen acknowledges the touch, but the button doesn't do anything. But when I rotate the phone to Landscape, it works fine.

Anyone have any ideas? Let me know.
Stock CM11S and Root.

It's a bug. Happens to me using Mahdi rom as well. Most likely cm related. Just stick to the workaround for now, would probably help if you made a post on jira.cyanogenmod.org so cm can look into it.

Problem with CyanogenMod 10.1 Boot Logo

Update: This issue has been resolved in CyanogenMod 11. As of now, there is no 'official' CM 11 for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (GT-P3100, GT-P3110, or GT-P3113), but CodyF86 has a great build of it here. Anyway, here is the commit: (http://review.cyanogenmod.org/#/c/56562/3)
Hey Guys,
Let me first start off by saying this problem in no way effects overall performance and operation of my device. With that being said, this problem is just more of a cosmetic issue with CyanogenMod and the OCD I have towards it. Right after CyanogenMod upgraded from the 10 to 10.1 builds, the boot logo changed from landscape to portrait. What happened with my device (Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 GT-P3113) is slightly odd. The boot logo for CyanogenMod is now stuck in the upper right corner of the screen and appears squished. As I said before, this DOES NOT impact device operation, so if you have another thread to watch, I suggest you do that. But if you are inclined to help me fix this problem, please note that I have already done the following:
Flashed device to stock ROM using ODIN
Re-rooted the device using the auto root tool for this device
Flashed CWM Recovery latest version (Touch) using ODIN
Re-installed the latest version of CyanogenMod 10.1 Stable
There is an image of the issue attached to this post below if you are interested.
Thank you for your support!

Same problem here, only on my device it changes after about 5 seconds to normal. Already looked into this and, as far as I could find, there is no solution yet.
its common problem we all get that
Same here.
I rarely reboot the device and it doesn't seem to actually affect the device, so I just ignore it.

LET'S not ignore this bug, as this is not supposed to happen. If anybody else has this issue, please raise your hand and post it here. This has been going for a loong while and needs to be fixed.
Hey there is a way to get rid of it.
Please follow the instructions
1. Get the latest phillz recovery. Install it using ur present recovery.
2. Get the latest black hawk next kernel v1.8.3. Flash the zip file.
3. Get the vendor blobs (not necessary cuz the latest nightlies have them preinstalled)
4. Go to /system/buildprop file n change rf. so .hwrotation=270 to rf. so
.hwrotation=0
5. Reboot the device.
Press thanks if I helped.

*EDIT: The screen is screwed up now. It's taking portrait touch responses instead of landscape ones, and the screen does not rotate.
I can confirm this works in landscape mode, but isn't portrait the intended orientation?
No I changed the settings wanting it to be in landscape mode cuz i use tablet ui n it makes my tab look better. Need to work around a way for portrait mode.

Yes, but the touch screen reverses the input of my finger and rotates the screen opposite and to the left of the way I'm holding it. You have no idea how hard it was to restore the build.prop when you need to use a broken UI to enable USB debugging. Ugh..
OK but I have no such issues, been running it smoothly since a week.

I have it aswell!
I have this same issue, not only with the rom, but ALL of them.
Report to CyanogenMod Developers?
Someone should forward this thread to the CM dev team. Maybe then, and only then will it be fixed.
i think all of the tab2 which use CM rom have the same problem, my tab2 p3110 too...
hope someone of the CM devteam can fix it

I believe it is only a problem with the 7" models of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablets.

I've tried to install black hawk next kernel, and my p3110 was stucked at the Boot Logo..
I must flash phillz recovery first? I'm using the CWM recovery.
The problem is there in almost every ROM except for AOSPA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2168670 . If we can just find whats the difference?

That seems odd indeed. I will compare the two tonight and hopefully get some results.
Also, thank you for introducing me to a lovely new ROM.

Philz recovery is a must. Otherwise it won't boot. Use the latest version of it.

[Q] A "Gallery" issue..

Hello all.
I've only recently found this Phone Freedom and don't know why I didn't do it sooner. So first, thanks to everyone that's here!
But I do have an issue..
If this is a newb issue... Guilty! And I apologize.
When I rooted and flashed I used LiquidSmooth for 4.2.2 with TWRP and all was well. Then upgraded to LiquidSmooth 2.x for 4.3 and this Gallery issue arose. Every time some sorta gallery app is opened (stock, quikpik, etc..) the phone freezes and reboots. I've gone through uninstalling stock and replacing with whatever.
I'm now running Dirty Unicorns for 4.3 (which is beautiful I might add) but the issue persists...
Any help from you guys is greatly appreciated.
[update] just before I sent this I ran Master Clean and in the "advanced" section it did the same freeze/reboot action.

Try force stopping the app, clearing data, and cache. I would than try wiping cache and the dalvik cache. Worst case scenario: wipe cache, dalvik cache, factory reset.

Glad I checked here before posting the exact same issue! Reassuring to know I'm not the only one to hit this. In my case, I went from stock 4.1 to Dirty Unicorn (4.3), then went to Avatar (4.3) and had same problem both times. Then backed down to Embryo (4.2) and all is well.
So...is there a work around to this? Possibly removing camera and gallery via some tool and replacing with down rev version?
Thanks Mucho!

Backup pictures and videos that were taken pre 4.3(just do all of them) to PC and remove from phone. Mp4 files are the culprit I think. Should take care of problem. There is a way to download them back to phone afterwards and let media browser rename them. Not sure of exact process, but quick fix/work around is to get them off phone.

My S4 never has been quite right after gettting run over in the street, so I put my SD chip in my S2 and gallery crashes. Thank you for investing your time in this thread.
I am going to start with a clean chip and go from there. I'll test and fiddle and give a report back.
So you got gallery to work as long as there are no Mp4 files on it?
---------- Post added at 05:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:32 PM ----------
I put the SD chip in the desktop and went through the entire thing deleting all the MP4 files. Seems all the movies I made with the S4 had a mp4 file extension, and adjusted the windows explore to display details instead of large icons. Took a while to delete them all, I had a lot and organized the chip into folders.
Now gallery works just fine.
So is it a hardware firmware thing? No way to get an S2 with mp4 in the gallery? not to crash?
As reported in the posts above, stock Samsung ROM and its derivations work fine.

Audio Output Problems

Hello,
I do have my Nexus 5 for about 2 weeks now. I did root it right away.
I tried many ROMs and kernels. But with every combination I get the same problem:
Extremly annoying audio output glitches and errors. Mostly when watching videos on Youtube or listening to Spotify. Doesn't matter if I use headphones or the speaker.
It's hard to describe this error. If needed I can try to catch it on a Video.
Now the odd part:
I've got the exactly same problem on my Galaxy Nexus. When I got my N5 I used Google's restore function to get my Apps back.
What I tried:
Multiple ROMs -> LiquidSmooth, Mahdi, Slim, ...
Multiple Kernels
Different GApps
Viper4Android
Nothing of it did work.
Because I did have the exactly same Problem on my GNexus I do have the assumption that maybe an App is responsible. Although I don't have any exotic apps installed.
Any hints how I can get rid of this problem? Or does anyone know what causes it?
Thank you,
Cliff
Edit: Here is a video where you can hear the problem:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqmGOIQ9sqs
Edit2: I just wiped my phone and clean flashed LiquidSmooth with PA GApps.
I restored only two apps with Titanium, and the problem was still there.
Edit3: Now I tried a rooted Stock ROM. Everything is working...
I really don't know what to do anymore. It isn't an App, it isn't the hardware and it looks like I am the only one who does have this problem on any ROM?!
Please help me.
What I suggest:
backup with helium
flash factory image
don't install anything
test
if it still persist it is a hardware defect and out of your hands, in that case, contact google and reflash everything to stock/ reset tamper flag. http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
I just edited my post while you answered, and I did exactly what you suggested. See Edit3.
The problem is gone with a Stock ROM. But with every Custom ROM I tried, I do have this problem, and nobody else does...
I just flashed a CM Based ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/rom-c-rom-4-4-2-v5-6-t2694339)
Haven't tested that before. It looks like everything is working fine. Audio without any errors...
Today I flashed some ROMs for further testing.
Stock, CM and CM based ROMs are working flawlessly.
Every AOSP ROM has the same audio problem.
Any ideas how I can fix this? I want to be able to use other ROMs than CM based

I think I know what the problem was.
I did use a modified host file for ad blocking (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098)
I don't know why changing the host file was causing this problems, but without it a ROM and Kernel combination which caused problems before is working.
I also have this problem, but I haven't tried anything yet. So what's the solution for it? Perform a full restore?

you should have "focal" as your camera app, but you can also just flash a stock ROM that has root so everything is back to its familiar setup and apps.

Hi guys, i have exactly the same problem. I have a 3110 and i decided to move from cm 10.1.3 to cm11. I performed the data wipe/factory reset with the latest version of twrp, installed the rom, installed the gapps package and everything seems to work fine except for the camera. There is no app at the drawer, i can not install google camera from the playstore, and the apps that i installed either in apk or zip form do not work. Some crash, camera zoom fx doesnt have the option to take picture and some other apps throw an error message about "can not find the hardware camera" and staff like this. Can someone help me plz?

then it must be an issue in the ROM itself.
either a bad download or an bug in the system.
inquire in the specific rom thread to address the problem and if you have time Google "log cat android" and make a log when you try to open the app.

@tokenpoke its indeed a bug in the system, camera is broken at cm 11atm, you need to apply a fix. The solution can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53381666&postcount=2909 , thnx goes to @webdroidmt for pointing that out.

Thank you bro, will try to use a different ROM to test it out again.
i have tried the thread stated in this forum where i also found many having such issues, but the remedy just didn't work out for me.
I guess i will have to re-root it again.
thank you once again:angel:

no need to reroot if you've installed a custom recovery.
most ROMs are already rooted and there is an option when booting your system from recovery that injects root into nonrooted roms

[Q] Not all audio "streams" in one specific app are working

Hey guys,
hope this is the right place to ask a question like this but I wasn't able to find an answer anywhere else.
I am using LOS 17.1 on an unsupported device (tb8704f) since yesterday and noticed a strange thing. A yoga app (daily yoga, not sure it'S allowed to post a link here) I am using has music playing while they show you the poses and a narrator explains what to do. Normally. Everything works but the narrators voice is missing. I tried it without gapps and with pico gapps but it didn't change anything. It worked on this devices with the stock rom before.
Any ideas where to look for a solution?
Or could someone else maybe install the app and try if the problem occurs as well? App is free.
Thanks
