You can do 3 things:
1. Buy a Samsung phone
2. Port a touchwiz rom
3. Look for a rom with the features
or you could install S launcher prime (GALAXY S5 LAUNCHER just as good. regards joe.

Samsung ROMs are built for Samsung phones. Nexus phones run a very close to AOSP ROM, that's why they're all "exact look".
Samsung ROMs are very difficult to port. That's because they're closed source. If Samsung phones have the features you can't live without, that's what you buy - although there are alternatives available for everything you mentioned anyway

rootSU explained it the best. On the top of that, think of it this way... if you want TouchWiz buy their phone. Its exclusive to Samsung phones because its more or less a incentive to use their phones because of TouchWiz.
If TouchWiz is that important, stick to using Samsung devices. If you can care less about the features of TouchWiz but like the way it looks, take a look into Note 4 / S5 / TouchWiz CM11 themes found via play store.

Hi all, as the title
I dunno is it the best time to go for Samsung Galaxy Nexus
but I really love it
because my current phone is LG optimus one which is my 1st android phone
furthermore, once I buy either 1 of them I don't want to change phone for 2year, so if get Nexus now, then get next 2 generation Nexus phone(same to other)
so which should I go ??
and also since MWC gonna reach, and sure got new phone announce
but after wait them announce, still need wait them release, and bring by either Samsung, LG, Motorola and other for my country for the original set
*i prefer original set than ap set(not sure other country got ap set or not)
so anyone please help me decide ><
thanks
Regards
Imo it's not worth the wait because the SGSIII will be like the nexus but with better internal specs which really isn't noticeable, unless you like to play games a lot on your phone or something.
SGS2 over the nexus if you can live with touchwiz or CM9. Benefit of a nexus line is that you get updates first and a true aosp rom.
SGS3 may be out Q2 or even Q3 if it gets delayed. Who knows what improvements it will bring.

If you're always trying to stay atop of the game, you'll be disappointed.
Go with the Nexus instead of waiting for the SGSIII.
At least you know you'll always have a dev community and at least Google support for years.
I would go for galaxy nexus instead of waiting. I hate waiting for new phones. I think, if you have a good phone, it will remain good although a new one was released in next months
If you don't mind Touchwiz and love specs, probably the S3. But if you want the fastest updates and can't wait get the Galaxy Nexus. It's impossible to stay on top of everything in the mobile space unless you got a bunch of cash to burn. If you keep waiting there will be more developments but at what cost?

if want I9100, must buy ap set, otherwise original set = I9100G

furthermore, S II too common already

I'd wait for the SGSIII because of better specs but I think that the TouchWiz interface that Samsung will surely slap on there will spoil it for me. You can always flash another ROM though.

Yes the Nexus has it. You should go for the Nexus. Both phones are basically equal specs wise, but the Nexus is always going to be special. Also, if you want an SGSIII when it comes out the Nexus will hold its resale value better than the SGSII.
Galaxy S or SII its the best, because is android and is really solid material is SAMSUNG and is great.

There is a great camera comparison between the 2 phones. If camera is your MOST important feature, I would go with the SGSII. If you like AOSP and the Nexus line, go with the Nexus. With the review though, the cameras aren't that far apart, and the Nexus takes better pictures with the flash. I personally have just bought a Nexus.

i decided to go nexus
since the price not much difference in my country @@
I was keen to get a nexus 5 but now am not sure if the Google edition s4 is a better buy.
Assuming that they are a similar price I think the Pro's / cons break down as follows
S4 Pros
Hardware buttons (I consider this pro)
Removable battery
Updates from google
SD card
Better camera?
S4 Cons
Possibly slower updates than N5
Slower processor
Nexus Pros
Faster updates
Better processor
Better dev community
Nexus Cons
No removable battery
No removable storage
Is there anything else that should make me consider one other the other, I intend to keep either device for 2/3 years.

There's a (small?) mistake in your pro list for the S4. The updates don't come from Google. They are provided from Samsung. The Play edition is only a TW firmware with AOSP look and without all the Samsung extras, but it still is a tarned Touchwiz.
The pro would be the clean firmware and the faster updates than non-GE phones.

Not that I'd remember right now, but the 4.3 update came on the GE devices only one week after the Nexus updates.
The TW version came "just now" officially to the end-user

My concern with the N5 is battery. I'm not so sure if 2300mah is good for SD800 and 5' FullHD beast.
That's why I went for a G2 from S4. Just like OptimusG and N4, the close relation between G2 and N5 will ensure good dev support for G2. And the hardware on G2 is almost impeccable. Check it out.

Hello
I got my Note 3 on 01/12/2013, I was quite excited to own such a powerful device with specs that no competitor can match. So naturally I assumed that the device will attract a lot a of developer support, I did notice that the forums were running short of AOSP based ROMs and there were only a few TW based ROMS. However I thought things would pick up in the new year and more developers would come to the party......but that hasn't happened!!
So I have to ask, why is the Note 3 not getting enough developer support/interest? There is no OMNI, PA, AOKP, PAC, Slim ROMS. Even CM seems to be taking forever to officially release a nightly.
Why is nobody even interested in porting the above custom Roms? WHAT THE H3LL IS WRONG WITH THE NOTE 3?
At this point I am considering selling or swapping it for even a LG G2 or Nexus 5..... And i don't care about the stupid warranty if that's why most people are afraid. If i could port and maintain OMNI or PA or AOKP I would.....

There is a daily build being done by temasek and boy is it stable.. battery life is excellent also.
Pong has built a few daily builds also... he is doing well.
ProBAM AOSB is smooooth as.
PACMAN was pulled. BAM is still there... There's enough for now... Remember CM is still at a very very early stage for the Note, sources only been out a couple of weeks man give it time.
Maybe not a lot of devs would want to spend that much money on a phone. Maybe when it becomes more affordable then more devs will join in on the fun.
It's pointless to flash AOSP or CM or AOKP on this phone, since you lose so much functionality. The pen becomes dead weight. You lose multi window on apps. If you have flip cover, it just becomes a standard cover. etc. etc.
If you are going to use this phone, you are going to use Samsung's OS. That's it.

I doubt it's a money issue. i believe samsung really ruined it's relationship with the community, looking at the bricking bug that plagued the Note 1, i know @Entropy512 and @XpLoDWilD got pissed and left Samsung devices (no more team Hacksung) but i thought others would come to the party....

Not much people will flash CM/AOKP/AOSP/PA and etc in Note series as it is downgrade the phone. Thus not many such developer on it.

Development for the S5 however will be much and much more active than for the Note 3, you can be sure of that. So if you`re looking for that, there will be more to pick from there. I hope we`ll get the S5`s TW and UI too for the N3
To the OP, I'll say just take the size into consideration. If you want a bugger display (and the S pen) go for the note 3. If you want something more manageable with one hand, go for the S5. Both solid devices, you can't go wrong either way.

There's a ROM called hyperdrive for the T-Mobile US Note 3 that gives the S5 theme and system UI. Because of that ROM I'm strongly considering going back to the note 3....for a fourth time!
