before u change them.. there is option to backup your original font which u can restore anytime u want
Thank you! I've been searching some info in the forum and I found this:
Denie46 said:
installation:
--- copy\paste and replace the unrarred font into system>fonts
--- give the right permissions (rw- r-- r--) for each file that you replace
--- you may get some strange symbols during the replacement and permissions, but restart your phone and you'll be welcomed with the new font
Requirements:
--- root
--- some sort of root explorer

Credits to Denie46, I attach the same .zip he uploaded. No extra app's is needed but some kinda root explorer. Now I'm using Sony Sketch and it looks very good

Well I'm building a theme and wanted to know where/what to edit on the front end so that people who flash my theme dont have to change the font. Thats why I put it in the themes section. I didnt know if there was a .xml file that told the ROM which font to use. If all I need to do is rename the font I want to use as "DroidSans" and then place it in the fonts folder that's fine, but I wasnt sure. Thanks for your tip though I didnt know about typefresh.

Thanks for the link. I will check that out. JAguirre1231 gave me this info which seems pretty easy.
Replace the fonts in /system/font
DroidSans.ttf & DroidSans-Bold.ttf for most fonts.
Clockopia.ttf for the clock font on the lockscreen.

yep just rename your prefered font to the fonts your listed above and replace them in the system.fonts folder. Some fonts dont play nice with android so its a test thing but most of the ones I have tried from my win7 box work fine.
Hi all

there you go... OK, it's not .ttf but it worked for me though...
apk has been installed how to apply it using stock launcher...:|
You can extract the apk file and go into the res folder to find your font, very likely in ttf. Then you can use a Font Changer app to install the font onto your device.
Root is needed, by the way.
Or otherwise, you can navigate to root/system/font and replace the font in there - but remember to modify the permissions of your newly installed font ttf.
Is there any other good fonts in apk format?
Here it is...
Choco cooky
I have a choco cooky font that you can apply to your phone. I can send it to you if you want...
Need choco cooky font for MOTO G
Will this font style work in my MOTO G 2nd gen without rooting?? If yes then send me the file on [email protected]
I want this font but wth are these permission requests for?!

Hi Everybody ,
I have found a way to changing fonts for contacts, music, email, sms and settings apps from Rom X10S of Championswimmer.
Here is framework with fix landscape
Links to download files
Dark Blue:
http://www.mediafire.com/?6ie1rcipig8w3wl
Full Black:
http://www.mediafire.com/?d6n0pbpl85xrmtd
NEW
Xperia S Blue:

You can see screenshots on attachments of third post and Method to install it on second post.
(Sorry for my bad english)
Using Xperia X10 with Rom X10S by Championswimmer.
Please backup before to make it
This framework just compatible with Rom "X10S" of Championswimmer
You Need:
Root explorer and file
Method:
-Open Root explorer
-copy downloaded file to system
-rename it "SemcGenericUxp.apk" like on first screenshot
-and set permisions like second screenshot
-when it done move it to system/framework, normally you will see a message which saying if you want to replace it put "yes" after when it done reboot
Have Fun
Here is screenshot of framework of full black fonts and dark blue fonts and Xperia S Blue
Using Xperia X10 with Rom X10S by championswimmer
If you want to go back stock framework, just install the stock SemcGenericUxp.apk of rom X10S Championswimmer. And execute the same step as if you install a custom framework.

Hello everyone !
I'm going to tell you how to change Persian or Arabic fonts in beloved Galaxy Note3!!
First of all you need to have Root access , with a simple search in forums you can findout how to Root.
Then you got to install "Root Explorer " or any file manager you know how to work with and gives you system file access .
Now download any font you like or copy from your C:windows/font folder to your SD card and rename it to GS45_Arab_AndroidOS.ttf the font file must be in ttf format itself, which all are in.
Next go to Root/system/fonts and change the font file with name GS45_Arab_AndroidOS.ttf to GS45_Arab_AndroidOS2.ttf or anything so when you regret changing your font you have the original one lol .
However, copy your new GS45_Arab_AndroidOS.ttf this folder.
TADA you just have changed your FONT !! :victory:
or just install fontchanger and change it in advanced mode......TADA
One of the problems in changing the font for me as bilingual user is finding a good font that has good combination of fonts in single file !
You'll get one of the language's font is good and the other would, most probably, suck !
But thanks for the OP, Windows fonts are mostly good for both langs !
Well, you always can find nice English fonts in market for flipfont but they usually change your English font and keep your Arabic/Persian font same as default. But with this method you can change the default Arabic/Persian font as you want then use other fonts for yur flipfont.
Tho you always can mess with system font folder and change anything you want but don't forget to make a backup before anything.
And as for third party apps to do this um I don't know its just more fun to do such things manual !!
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Works like a charm
this is EXACTLY what I was looking for for a long time.
this method changes the font EVERYWHERE. font changing applications only change the font in system and most of the apps stay the same (for arabic only)
thank you
---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:13 PM ----------
now is there a way to make a combined font style to change both English and arabic fonts? combined or changing each alone?
or to make the question more clear, which font I should replace to change the english too?
because if I change it from the settings it will change the arabic too

Click to collapse
FOR USERS EDITING IN MOBILE (Root Explorer)..........PC users go down
Now rename the follwing files (Both from your device and the other rom) [dont mix them up. place them in different folder] as
Code:
framework-res.apk
as
Code:

JUST Select the apk and right click and select winzip or any other tool and press extract
From now on use have to use your brain, gut feel, your choices and stuff.
SO Extract the zips
Got to Res folders of each apk
For Example if you are working on Settings go to
Res folder in both your rom and the cm11
in your rom go to the the file which is related to your screen resolution
Eg.
For HDPI -(drawable-hdpi)
and same with cm11 and then start comparing the pictures the both folders and there might be nice pics in (drawble-XXHDPI) folder and that doesnt mean you can take all the pics from drawable-XXHDPI after choosing your stuff replace your images and rename if necessary ( if the images look exactly the same and with different name and rename to the name of picture in your name and replace the pic ) just go into the main folder of the file of your app which you extracted and zip of your rom
For Eg. Its Setting app
after you have edited the pics
Some Other Tips
There are few pictures in blue try to edit theme with gimp or Image Editor By Byte Experts
For chaning Default Wallpaper
Go to framework-res.apk
in that go to res
then drawable
and choose the Image you want and replace the image with same name
9 pngs can be replaced in the same way, but if you want to edit them follow this video- How to easily edit .9.png files
go back to res and then back again you will find all the folders like
assets
META-INF
res
resources.arsc
AndroidManifiest.xml
Select all the files present and zip them then Rename the zip again to " Setting.apk "
now you need to push the file back to your device
Just follow this Thread - How Install a App as System APP
For Setting and SystemUI and for framework

Great guide. Just one point/tip if I may, I see it a lot that People suggest to rename an apk to zip, well in order to open a zip you obviously need to have a program capable of doing so, so just set apks to open with your preferred zip program which will cut out the unnecessary step of having to rename each apk you want to mod.

No I actually din't theme it, I used exdailer and dark theme its a light and good looking too
Great thread. Helped me a lot since I'm working on a Android L themed ROM for the galaxy express using Pacrom as base. I've managed to get the settings.apk theme changed like the header and color and stuff. Trying to change the icon colors in settings and theme the dialer and framework res. Whenever I theme the dialer and framework res it the dialer doesn't show up after replacing via system/priv-app permissions -rw-r-r-. And the framework res cause a boot loop. All I did was change some pngs and .9 images and edited the XML's dimensions and styles XML to match up then made any necessary changes to the drawables due to kitkats new theming process. Shoot me a PM thanks In advance.

Well it lots like you have normally edited .9.pngs like any other picture so there is a force close as framework runs throughout the system there is probably a boot loop for now take the apks from youe rom and flash them from recovery and after that while editing .9.pngs you first decompile the apk
Then select the picture leaving that black dots and the border and save and recompile.
I have attached the video in first post
