I noticed that in the latest version of MyTracks google has added support for ANT+ devices (ie. HRM's etc). I was wondering if our Nexus S' have the necessary hardware support for ANT+?
Cheers
Did you ever find the answer to this?
I had the same question.
There are some gears for geocaching out there which use ANT+ (Garmin Chirp) and I don't want to buy a garmin for that.
I'm also interested...anyone know something?
I don't believe that the NS or NS4G has ANT+.
http://code.google.com/p/mytracks/wiki/UsingSensors:
As of this writing, the only phones which are ANT-compatible are specific ones in the Sony Xperia series, such as the Sony Xperia Arc. Sony has indicated that a software update will enable ANT support on the Xperia X8, Xperia X10 mini, and Xperia X10 mini Pro in Q1 2011.

Your question depends on how heavy your wallet is Go for Sony Xperia Arc if you can. It's THE best in the series IMO
With the new Nexus 6 and 9 presented today together with a new Android version, how soon can we expect that Sony updates its latest flagship devices? I have heard different stories about Sony's update speeds, and I hope that they are fast this time ironing bugs and giving their skin a visual up-lifting
Was just about to make a similar thread
Everyone excited about lollipop but I don't think Sony will update the z3 to lollipop anytime soon
It will be a minimum of at least 2 months after the motos or nexii

If only we could have a Z3 with Stock Android!
Sony amazed everyone with android 4.4.4 updates to its Z series, even faster than Motorola.
Let's hope that the same thing would happen again with Lollipop ?
Hmmm... I guess I can't post URLs yet but Sony Blog had some good news:
You’ve probably seen Google unveil Android version 5.0; Lollipop…
Since the initial reveal of the Android “L” Developer Preview, we’ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap about our plans – so, here goes…
We’ll be making Sony Mobile’s Android “L” upgrade available for the entire premium Z series*: including Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z1S, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition devices will be first up – we’ll be back with more details on that soon.
We’ll start the upgrade at beginning of 2015 for the core Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 series – continuing thereafter for all remaining devices above.
We’ve been working hard to bring this major update to as many of our Z Series devices as we can, as quickly as we can. We’re really excited about the new Sony features & functionality and the improvements we’ve made to the user experience – and we’ll be sharing more soon… so stay tuned to the blog and @SonyMobileNews for all the latest and greatest.
*Software rollouts are a phased process – timings & availability will vary by market/operator. Most models supported but some operator/market exceptions will apply
