Charger problem :( - Xperia Z3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just bought mine today...... woohoo One little problem however, In my room the socket is right beside my bed post leaving little room! Its difficult to explain what i mean but basically because the usb cable plugs into the side of the charger rather then the front, It inhibits me from being able to plug it in unless i move my bed which i cant really do! Is it ok to use a samsung charger to charge the phone???
Any advice / recommendations on an alternative charger?

Use the samsung charger, it'll be fine

Cradle with AC Adapter

Hi There!
Would someone be able to point me in the direction of a good quality cradle with USB and AC Adapter that includes the ability to charge another battery. Needs to be a good fit, and not flimsy.
I see a lot of the cradles on ebay state the AC Adapter is simply for charging the second battery, but I want one that charges the galaxy with the ac adapter as I believe it should be faster than USB?
Thanks in Advance.

I have some exp., and I have found it on first try on ebay. Try to search for "galaxy crandle charger"
I did the same, there are many nice crandles, some of them comes with aditional batteries as a bonus.
So don't be lazy
Here are two nice crandles, first ones that appeared on ebay after giving "galaxy crandle charger" search into it:

Lol, I see Virnik0 either didn't understand or read your question fully.
Anyway, I have bought a similar one to second dock he linked, it seems it only charges the phone via usb and the battery via the wall charger. Hope that helps.
@Virnik0 The OEM dock is for the Epic 4G which has a keyboard and is thicker than the i9000. As far as I understand the Vibrant version fits better.

[Q] Need Replacement Charging Port

The tablet needs a new charging/interface port and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get one?
I have searched Ebay and the net for a used/new one. The port looks fine but when plugging the cable in it won't charge. Sometimes I can get it to if I push and hold it just right however this is tricky to do and does not work often. So right now it is a dead brick. The pins must not be making full contact for some reason.
Ive bought parts from these guys before, I don't see a charging port but might be worth giving them an email and asking

Thanks but I would rather not have to order parts from Sweden. If I have to I'll just keep watching Ebay. Every so often one pops up but doesn't last very long.
Good luck
The parts I ordered took about 4-6 weeks to arrive iirc
Just installed a new (used off Ebay) charging port with fingers crossed that it will allow the tablet to charge. I also have a new high quality charging cord (PWR+) and two ASUS wall chargers that I know work. Plugged the tablet in and was relieved to see the tablet come right on and show it charging. Let it charge to about 20% and then decided to unplug it so I could put the ring back on the tablet so it is all back together. Get the ring on and plug the tablet back in and nothing. I'm about to throw this thing in the trash right now. So fed up with these charging issues. What changed? All I did was unplug it, put the ring on, and plug back in.
So for kicks I decide to try the other wall charger and what do you know....it came on immediately and started charging and is still charging. I'm afraid to touch the thing now. Seems once it is charging and undisturbed it will charge to 100% no problem. However, when going to recharge it won't charge. Could there be something in the charging mechanism causing the thermal to trip in the wall chargers? Is there possibly a small short somewhere in the charging mechanism? Anyone have an opinion on why this is happening? Only other thing I can think of is doing a full wipe/reset and maybe flashing another rom (is currently on newest Android Revolution HD) once it is charged up.
Could the ring (I assume you mean Bezel ? ) or the screws near the port be shorting the charging port to earth/ground/chassis ?

Yep.. Sry.. The bezel. Not sure how but anything is possible. Would indicate to me a faulty charging port or charger cord and is happening on multiple. Tablet is still allowing me to charge it at this time after switching chargers and with the bezel on so will have to see how it goes.
Sent from my tricked out S4.
Fingers crossed it was a coincidence with the first charger, if not, I'd try taking the bezel off again and see if you can spot the short / see if it works again with the bezel off, or even just with the screws out

Disable wireless charger beep

I bought a Qi wireless charger on eBay. It works fine, but every time you place the phone on it, the charger beeps quite loudly. Worse, when the phone reaches 100%, it will stop charging, drop down to about 98%, then the charger restarts with another beep. This makes it more or less useless in the office or at night while sleeping.
Pics of the the internals are in the below link, can anyone tell me what component is making the beep, so I can "re-educate" the charger?

Is that one with a micro usb? Because I ordered a similar one. I hope its not the same one. The beep will surely get annoying.

Yes, it has a micro USB input. Someone else suggested the main wireless charging thread, so I'm going to go search for that, hopefully someone has the solution.

I've had a look at the same issue someone else had, but they had a large, obvious, speaker. On my board, I'm not sure which i is. The large square at J1 near the bottom corner is the only thing I can see remotely like a beeper. Can you link me the main thread you're talking about? I've found a few and can't find any with instructions on disabling a beeper like mine.
Thanks in advance.
u need to do abit macgyver stuff. as in pry it open. take the speaker / beeper out. as what kms108 said u can check a long thread about wireless charging. i remember someone posted some picture also.

Yep, at that point now. Got it open but there's nothing I recognize as the speaker you'd normally find on a PCB (round thing, usually connected with wires). That's why I posted the image album above, I was hoping someone might know which component on the board was the buzzer. Next step will be careful desoldering of suspect items
It looks the same as this one to me. Instruction is post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42042484&postcount=368

I realise now I was looking in the SGS3 wireless charger thread, not the SGS4 one. It was the square component I thought, cheers for the link.

phone wont charge charger is loose in the slot

hey im having trouble with my moto g charging it wont charge or anything and ive tried another chager in the house im not sure why its happening
I wouldn't recommend this since it could damage the charger & the phone, but if you squeeze in the middle of the microUSB just enough and then plug it into the phone, it ends up making a connection again. I've tried it on my old S4 a few times; worked with all chargers that wouldn't charge initially.
Hi there !
It sounds like your phone needs RMA , is none of the classic troubleshooting works
Sorry man ,
Please click thumbs up

I've done this a lot. I notice the cables just don't stay put after a few months, and squeezing just slightly with a pair of pliers will tighten the male end of the cable and it will grip the female end on the phone better.
Squeezing the charger will work as long as you don't squeeze it too much.
cheers for the suggestions but ive managed to get it charging it just had to be at a slight angle to get it connecting again its still loose in the hole but its charging now im glad cyaogen mod has a setting for the light on the screen to be on when its charging very helpfull
