Hi Guys,
I’ve recently purchased the LG G Pro 2 F350L Korean version.
Even though I absolutely adore this phone there are some things really driving me crazy with it!
Like the Korean characters on the dial pad, the constant “call to Korea, Call to Local” option every time I try and make a call, the crazy weird “pop-ups” in Korean language, my ringtones being in Korean, and the fact that when I go to my “call log” it brings up all past calls, EMAILS, and TEXTS.
Can any of these annoyances be fixed without rooting?
If not please help teach me to root.
Now I’ve tried rooting my device so many times I’m starting to think it’s unrootable.
I’ve tried IORoot, Vroot?, TowelRoot, TowelPieRoot?, and some Chinese root version.
Any help or suggestions?
If you have a video of how to root that may be helpful. All other methods aren’t really working.
I’m a bit lost.
Thanks for all replies.

Add +1 in front your phone numbers in Google solves the "call Korea" problem. To get rid of the Korean characters use a dialer replacement in Google Play. I have rooted successfully on V10o on Towelroot. Unless you can rename the files to English, the ringtone will display its original names use Zedge to download new tones.

Android "JellyBean" version 4.1.2 is rolling out for Verizon RAZR, RAZR Maxx and RAZR HD and other models and an unadvertised feature is finally enabled; the Message Access Profile (MAP) and the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP, PBA).
If you have a limited Bluetooth phone like mine, you probably experienced that the Office functions are limited, getting Text only if you are lucky. To get the feature on Motorola RAZR, in Android, check Settings > About Phone and see if you have an update available. The working version is shown here.

Once you have it installed, re-pair the phone to Bluetooth in your BMW and during the pairing process watch your phone for permission dialogs to allow the two BT profiles. You should see this when the update is installed in the About Phone screen.
On the Control Display you see a new option like this:
And your messages look like this:
This may seem like no big deal if you have another phone that works, but for those who have been suffering without having an email reader (yes it uses text to speech on emails) it is a welcome feature. Email can show multiple accounts.
If you want to try getting an early release of this update, try this link: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/t...original-verizon-droid-razr-how-to-keep-root/
Calendar, Notes and Tasks are still not working however there may be a patch for that also.
Alternatively, you can take another approach by having a PC toggled to your I-Drive. http://www.realcarpc.com
Hey guys!
I've got a JB 4.1 ROM on my device (well, all of the devices released with it, anyways, as it's stock) which has a peculiar problem in the SMS app. Watch this:

See? the keyboard "overlaps" the latest two SMS. Watch closely the highlighted SMS, notice it doesn't appear on the wrong behaviour comparison? I want to archieve the behaviour in the rightmost screenshot (this was photoshopped )
Now, this isn't a "normal" behaviour as I didn't see it happen on ICS (previous stock ROM, too). This behaviour also doesn't happen on other apps which use the keyboard, such as Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp. I've also tried other keyboards but the same problem appears.
I'm really tempted on editing the MMS.apk but I don't know where to start, it could be a .xml editing or it could be a .smali editing, I dunno.
I've uploaded the MMS.apk in case any of you wanna take a look at it - you don't have to, though, but at least if you can provide some guidelines or hints on how should I proceed, that'll help at least.
I've done some googling too and haven't found anything relevant, only this http://www.droidforums.net/forum/team-d1-miui/112623-keyboard-covers-latest-sms-messaging-app.html but it's for MIUI and also the file was hosted on megaupload which we all know got KIA so...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Bump!... though I hate bumping, but has nobody looked into this? I've read it happens on other JB-based ROMs...
Bump bumpity bump-a-bump
So I received my Z5 today, a grey import from taiwan. Preinstalled on the device are a number of applications, that I've never seen on any other phone before. I'm unsure what language they're in, Taiwanese, Japanese, Chinese even? The apps included but aren't limited to TVGO, Music Go! and Cyberon Voice manager. I also have this miscellaneous app that is simply asian characters which I do not understand. The apps are uninstallable, but I couldn't find much information about them online. I'm on build number is 32.0.A.4.11, which I believe is the latest official firmware? Screenshots attached below.

that is in chinese, unfortunately i cant read chinese lol. I wont say its malware and its expected to have some region's apps preinstalled.
Aside from that you can flash another stock rom through flashtool and use of xperifirm which will not contain these preinstalled apps.
I guess in Taiwan they may preinstalled apps (they think) which is helpful for the users.
It is like a "Information app", includes bus timetable, train ticket booking, weathers etc.
I dont have such app preinstalled in my phone (pre-ordered from Sony online store HongKong)
The third screen means "new version available, update now ?"
Google play

I'm guessing you're not an Asian user, correct? If not, do yourself a favor and flash one of the European stock firmwares. Mine came with the Belgian firmware which is pretty clean.
Probably some Lifestyle manager/app -- It's asking to update.
OK, fellas
I've lurked XDA for a while now and it's solved many of my doubts. Today, however, I finally decided to create an account and ask for something I haven't seen solved around the web. You probably heard about Android 6.0.1 with the new emoji – my query is somewhat related: I had a Nexus 5 until not so long ago and I noticed how some emoji wouldn't display correctly, appearing only as the "raw" Unicode character instead of Google's custom design. I dismissed the problem as some sort of mistake I may have comitted while flashing a factory image or something, although it'd never be corrected as I continuosly updated to the most recent OS version available. I even took this issue up to the Google Product forums to no avail. Finally, I traded the Nexus for a Moto Maxx XT1225 (for other reasons than this) and, to my surprise, the problem is on this new device too! I haven't meddled with it yet (rooting, etc.) and it came out of the box with Android 5.0.2 – below, a screenshot showing the characters that are not displaying correctly (unless it isn't there; in which case, I failed to attach the image)

Does anyone have any idea of what it could be? It's a minor issue, but it sure has been bugging me...
I figure downloading an intact font file and replacing the one on my phone would do the trick, but I'd prefer a solution that didn't require rooting, if possible.
Thanks for any help! :good:
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist & welcome
Try asking in this friendly Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2259645
I just got an Xperia 5III and my 5II is in a drawer. I was surprised at how different the operating system was on my new 5III compared to my 5II. There is one change that is negative. With the 5II if I was in an app and got a notification I could pull it down and read it.. With the 5III I can't. I have to return to the Home Page to pull down the notification. Is this just the way it is or did I screw a setting in my installation?
Other than that, I'm enjoying the 5III.

I actually haven't encountered this issue, so I'd suggest to search for a solution in settings menu
Oh, golly, why didn't I think of that? I've looked at everything in settings, even settings that shouldn't be remotely related. That's why I thought I would ask here.
Could you share screenshot(s) of your issue and of what you used to see it in 5II for the same? It's a lil hard to imagine based on this. Additionally, it could also be how Android 12 is setup vs. Android 10/11 in 5II.
If we can indeed see what you are facing, maybe that will help us try to find a solution for it.
I hate this. I'm a constant fiddler and this morning I fiddled with some settings in Google Messages. I was in shower when my reminder, from Google Calendar, came up. I waited till I got out of the shower, went to Google Photos on my 5 III, swiped down, and it worked. I went to my Oxford Dictionary and it worked, too. So, the problem that was irritating me is gone. AND I DON"T KNOW WHY!
