It depends on the method you used to delete the data, but generally speaking, unless you made a Nandroid backup before you deleted all the information (which, if you did, I bet you'd already have restored it), you cannot restore the deleted data.
Sorry about that.
Post thank?
you can restore music and pictures with help of app called root undelete ( you require root )
else you can connect your memory card with card reader and try to undelete your stuff by EaseUS Data Recovery 7.5

Well since this was my first root I guess I made a mistake or maybe not?
So this is the case :
I have an HTC One S (Rooted using SuperSu Method)
What I did for backup is just copy all the content from the phone (in hard drive mode) to a folder on my pc (which ended up being around 7gigs)
My question is how do I restore all that data\pics\apps\profiles back to my phone?
(Tried to copy past it back into the phones SD-Card and rebooting, The phone doesn't recognize any of the data)
Any way to actually make this work? or is it a lost cause?
Thanks for the help!
As far as apps and their data goes, only some info is saved on the sdcard, the rest is saved on the devices internal memory.
Only restoring the stuff saved on the SD card aint gonna bring back any apps. They need to be reinstalled properly.

How about all the Contacts \ Messages and ect?
Because I have all the files on my PC (Exactly the same files that have been on the phone before the ROOT\Unblock)
Can I recover those back to the phone somehow?
Messages and contacts are stored on internal memory, unless you export them.
You dont have access to anything except /sdcard/ through the PC, unless you use ADB.
edit: What I mean is, if you have only backed up /sdcard/ (which seems to be the case), you have lost everything on the internal memory (such as messages and contacts etc).

So basically even tho I copied all the content from the phone itself to the pc, All I copied is squat.
All the raw data I get is pictures.
So no encrypted data can be found on the storage partition and I have to just start over from scratch?
And the next time I root or flash, just use Recovery backup?
You didnt copy all the content. You only copied what was stored on the /sdcard/ (which is more or less the only thing you have access to without root).
Theres a very slim amount of data android uses on the sdcard, unless the user specifically tells it to.
Next time you flash, you should back up all your apps you want to save with for example titanium backup (requires root, which you now have), save all the contacts to the sim card, and export all messages.
Then after you have wiped and flashed a new rom, just restore the backups with titanium backup again, and import contacts from sim.
The backup/restore in recovery backups/restores the WHOLE system, so when you restore it it will be exactly like the way it was when you made the backup. (edit: to clarify, if you flash a new rom, then restore a backup made on another rom, you will return to that rom the backup was made on)

Got it
I actually found some encrypted data such as : Whats up message history, Some Contacts, Specific apps.
And I recovered all my contacts VIA my google account.
Only thing lost is the applications, which I will reinstall in like 30 minutes.
Anyhow I am quite happy I got into the rooting business, Already feel the different abilities and the uncovered raw code + new line of root supported apps waiting to be savaged by me.
Thank you for the help anyways (and the quick reply as well)
And I think the original ROOT tutorial post should have a step which is a "back-up step" which explains how to back up most of the info before rooting, and the ability to back up with root.
Cheers!
Hi guys, I recently just flashed CM 12.1 w/ Android 5.1.1 on my Zenfone 2.
Before doing that, I backed up my apps+data using Titanium Backup. After flashing, I transferred back the Titanium Backup folder in the internal storage where it originally was. I then re-installed Titanium Backup. Unfortunately, there's 0 apps that can be restored according to Titanium Backup. I even checked the Storage location and it even showed my backups.
Help ASAP. TIA
Install the apps before backup. It might work.

Nevermind, just found out that my backups were corrupted. Anyways, is there anyway to restore the data of the apps instead? I dont mind re-downloading the apps again as long as I can get my data back
In the titanium backup.
One off the two zips will have you apk inside. Just open the zip and install the apk

Hi there...how did you solve the problem?
I also have the same problem...I backed everything up then flashed cyanogenmod Marshmallow 6.0.1 then after flash copied all the backup folder back to internal memory so it can be seen by Titanium backup app and still doesn't work...it doesn't see anything...although it sees the location and the files under titanium backup/preferences/Backup Settings...Backup Folder Location..but in the app I cannot see any of the apps I backed up...how can I solve the problem..please help me
i think titanium needs to be updated to the latest version. the older version somehow doesn't work and don't see the backups properly (on my stock z3c pre rooted rom). after I installed the latest version, it worked like a charm
WARNING: Titanium doesn't backup the media folder for Whatsapp nor Wechat. backup the media that you want manually before flashing. the chatlogs are backed up properly

Hi Everyone
Sorry for digging up an old topic but I have a very similar situation and almost got gray hair already
Did anyone found a solution to the issue from opening post ?
Here's what I have done (and already regret it
- I was on stock 5.1.1 android for xperia z1 compact D5503
- I have installed Kingroot to remove some bloatware applications through titanium backup.
- Then I have made a backup of all applications of my interest (sms/mms, k9-mail etc.) and copied that to a folder on external sd card.
- Then I came over idea of Pre-rooted stock roms. Performed that (downgrade to 4.4.4, root, dual recovery, instal pre-rooted rom from zip).
- Installed TiBackup, copied all backups from sd to internal memory.
- Opened TiBackup - mind blown - no apps with backups.. In Preferences - Folder backups are shown.
Any ideas? Corrupted backups? That would make me very sad
Any help much appreciated.

OK,
I have solved the riddle. So easy and obvious that I didn't notice.
When I was doing all the stuff from the post above I was using sd card reader.
So to be on the safe side - i have copied all SD card content to win10 PC.
Then when I thought I was ready - copied all to 1 folder "Stuff" and then to SD card.
What I have missed was that during that process file extensions were changed. So all *.properties were now *.properties.txt and all *.bzip were *.bzip.zip and so on.
So my problem is solved. Perhaps someone else could use it too.
Best regards

thanks a lot .. that solve my problem
Yeh, SD card to the rescue!

i have never used this before, but according to the pics, you can restore apps and data out of the nandroid. maybe you can put the backup on your new phone, then do that to get to the data you want.
other than that, im not sure what to try. i know you can dissect the nandroid on a pc, but i dont know if any of the data will be in a format you can directly recover things from.
Hi everybody,
I have made a back factory setting to handle a battery issue. Thinking have realized correctly my backup, I have done this manipulation. After I have restored my backup, I have seen that all my pictures were not on my phone (or in the DCIM folder).
I have rooted my phone and tried some recovery applications (like Jihosoft, ...) without any success.
I have explored a lot of websites and seen many comments saying that this operation is not possible.
Do you think is it possible to restore my data? If yes, Do you know an application or PC's software doing this recovery for Android
6.0.1 Marshmallow?
Thank in advance.
As far as i know once you format partition everything on it is gone and you can not retrieve enything.
Backups in recovery dont backup your data such as pictures, videos, music... they only backup your apps and respective app data.

It is a long shot. As you said you already restored backup which means you already wrote data on the partition.
Those data recovery programs work 100% when you delete/format partition and you try to recover deleted files before anything is written on that formated partition. In your case even if you manage to pull something out it will probably be corrupted files.

Yes, I am agree with you. My phone is used currently and I have received some new data wrote on the "old one" in my partition. My hope to retrieve these data is low now maybe null...
This is the value of using Google+, Dropbox, Amazon Prime, etc. photo syncing, etc. At least photos can be restored. Other files ... not so much.
Not sure what kind of backup YOU did but my CWM backups grab the entire /data partition, photos included.

hi guys,
i make a back up from a50 and all data using to new m30s (i recover all whatsap data in to new m30s its around 21GB) after few weeks suddenly i lost all whets app data without any action.
i check internal memory, there is no 21gb data instead of that one day chat details only.
any one can help to recover that 21gb folder
i dont have any tech knowledge (my English also not good sorry for that also)
In such situation, first stop using your phone in case of data overwritten if there is no backup of the lost whatsapp data. Of course, if there is a backup of the lost data on Google Drive Backup, you can recover them from backup easily. I no, try Whatsapp recovery tool or Undeleter App, they can both help you recover lost whatsapp data before they are overwritten by new data. Hope this will be your help.
