Well stock ROM works well for me, nice battery life, no issues at all, 4.4.3 stock
Sent from my XT1032 using XDA Free mobile app
If you don't like custom roms, then just shut up and use stock rom

i prefer stock 4.4.4. i manually tweaked a lot of things and stock is still the most stable, fastest, and best battery life (better with faux kernel)
Stock rom is pretty nice. If there was a way to customize the notification light speed (without lightflow) and vibration intensity for texts, I'd be using it now.

Lol that's why its called "custom ROM" your modding your phone. Restore your phone back to complete stock and stick with that. No complaints no issues. Either that or your probably doing something wrong..
Use stock, do not use custom roms and complaining here.
crDroid
I have zero issues with Dirty Unicorns v8 using Phantom kernel.

Stock. Seems like you don't grasp the concepts of dev work. It takes time. I'm not trying to be rude here, but no ROM will be stable for a while. I'm not sure what else to say man.

Hey guys I wanted to get people's opinions on the best Miui Rom currently out there for the Nexus s. Currently I'm using Galnet's latest Rom with ICS framework built in and it has been really smooth and snappy, however lately it has been a RAM hog!
I've tried other ones including, KelLMSKing (I experienced lag when loading apps) and Brainmasters (Didn't include the miui gallery, camera, or music which I really like).
I haven't used Miui.us or the official Miui in a while and I'm not sure if there are any other ones out there. I should probably wait until v4.0 Miui comes out (Apparently next week) but in the meantime I wanted to see which version people are using and why?
another post for such subject ...
well , for me , i am currently running brainmaster's MIUI with Franco kernel , goddamn good!
i have been running over month now without any problem. except short battery life , but that happens to all MIUI , pretty UI needs more power.
by the way ,BM's MIUI , DOES includ MIUI GALLARY ,CAMARA AND MUSIC

+1 I'm using brainmaster's MIUI combined with Franco's Kernel as well and it's been good. I get average battery life and it's decent performance wise. Brainmaster MIUI includes stock Gallery, Camera, and Music like the above poster said, but it also includes stock which I deleted.
Brainmaster's!
Hi everyone
I would like to change my custom rom (liquid smooth) to a new rom
I would choose between axxionkat and cm11 4.4.4 m8
I wanna change my rom since there is no longer support for it and i cannot use it as a daily rom.
I like the features of liquid smooth but it didn't have new theme engine and at gaming performance is very bad (subway surfers sometimes laggs) , even art don't work for me (bootloop)
I like axxionkat bcuz it is official now and has a lot of features of liquid but i hear is not very good in antutu (dunno if this affects performance but for me antutu matters)
On the other side cm11 is fast and smooth (not very much customisation or features but i really didn't use them usually) and has very good gaming performance.
For me liquid starts draining battery and gets laggye ven in facebook app or even at writing a text (very slow google keyboard tapping)
What should i use as a daily rom?
Axxion or cm11?
I'm speaking of batery, performance, gaming, customisation, and for me even ota of axxionkat matters because it updates automatically
Personal, i like both roms(thanks to devs) i just need your opinion, but bcuz of official axxion with ota, i tend to it, but in performance is it good (i'm askin' all of this bcuz i have many data on my phone and i don't wanna spend time with backups and s****.)
Thanks in advice.
Ok so before the 4.4.4 OTA update my phone ran amazingly well, and even after updating hboot with the OTA Roms with a 4.4.3 base work fine and AOSP is not an issue. Now whenever i try to use a rom with 4.4.4 base sense/GPE roms, my battery life goes to complete crap. Until now i didnt really care, i just stayed on 4.4.3 roms and AOSP roms, but with the minor quirks with those roms im just looking for something more solid., and im starting to want to try out the EYE experience. I've tried multiple roms, even a new Lollipop rom based on the GPE rom by digital high and the battery life is still crap, i just cant get it to work right
RKDN ROM is amazing battery life.
Give Santod's UnSense a shot. It's based off Sense 6 on 4.4.4 but is skinned to look like stock Android which is plus if you're a little tired of Sense. It still comes with all the Sense goodies (camera, gallery, etc.) and I've been able to get 4 hours SOT with horrible signal so if you have better signal, you could probably stretch it some more.
I think the real problem is media server. Ive always downloaded a ton of music off of play music right after installing a new rom. Though for this rom i only have a few songs downloaded and my battery life if fine. I would think to just kill media server but then my music stops playing and it doesnt fix the problem, my battery life is still crap
I have not experienced this. I am currently running DigitalHigh's L rom, but when I was on carbonrom(4.4.4) I was getting around 6 hours of on screen time on a bad day, and almost 8.5 hours on a really good day. Could it be an issue is your settings? I'm currently flashing a rom so I can't post a pic of my screen on time on carbonrom, but I will as soon as I'm done.
Ok so im on stock 4.4.4 now. im using trickster kernel mod to monitor my cpu usage and its constantly maxed, i installed CodeCraft kernel and its the same deal.........Why is it maxing out my cpu? It also refuses to go into deep sleep
just got my oneplus over the weekend and i notice most of the custom roms have alot of lag for me. no matter what mods, tweaks or kernels i flash. the scrolling mod fix did help but i just don't feel the device is very smooth coming from my htc m8. any suggestions or thoughts?
More information about your set up. How and where do you experience lag would help.

Yeah this would really help.
My bacon setup. is really fast with zero lag (better than the M8), so I am not sure what setup you have right now that would be causing this...
Scrolling lag. Opening and closing apps. Just overall sluggish. Right now im on mahdi rom with the auxx kernel. Stock speeds. Zen + smartmax. Tried many other roms and configs. Was even worse when i was on the ak kernel. The only roms that dont lag are the alpha 5.0 roms.

Do you do full wipes between ROMs, and did you have this lag on CM11S before you started going custom?

Yes i always wipe. Might hard reset and flash factory. Start over. See if that helps.

Yeah that is really odd, I mean I get nothing but smoothness on this phone with pretty much every ROM I've used, currently on the latest Carbon nightly...
My device also lag so much, to the level when there can be 2 sec delay when I scroll on home screen with nothing open (only Google apps installed). The weird thing is when I first got the device is seems ok, then flashed 5.0 Alpha and then a couple of other ROM like PA 4.4.4 and then back to stock. Now even on stock (100%), I am still getting so much lag it is unreal. Some other issues: sound breaks when watching youtube, and sometimes screen freezes and phone reboots.
Hi there,
What is the Most Stable Nexus 5 Nougat (Android 7) Custom ROM?
I try to read the latest post messages, but I don't know.
Thanks
Hey
I've been using Nitrogen OS for the past two months and can tell you that it's a stable ROM.
I've been using Fake Nexus for a while now after going through a few of the available Nougat roms and it's my favourite so far. Comes with Google apps pre-installed plus the new Pixel Launcher, the installation method is similar to flashing a stock image instead of a custom ROM as a zip and an upgrade from Android 6.0.1 worked for me without losing my data, like upgrading a nexus 5x from Android 6.0.1 to Android 7.0.
Also after experimenting a bit and getting the kernel settings right (I am using the blu.spark kernel) I got Multirom working correctly and I have CM13 and NetHunter as secondary roms, fully functional with their own kernels.
I'm pretty sure all the Android 7.0 roms use the same AOSP repo for the main build and only a small handful of customisations. It's a mater of personal preference really, all roms I tested seemed equally stable and had the same bugs (camera video issue etc). I chose Fake Nexus because it's the closest to a factory image and the only one I got working with Multirom side by side with android 6.
My advice, if your Nexus 5 is your daily driver don't use an android 7 rom as your primary rom, the video recording bug alone can be a pain.
Good luck!
Thanks for your feedback.
The video recording bug is still present in all rom ?
What settings did you use for Blu spark
Try Pure Nexus
As far as I know the Camera bug is there for all ROMS when using the stock Google Camera app. A few ROMS claim that using a different app works but personally I haven't tested them. My nexus 5 is not my main device (I have a 5x as well) so I don't use it's camera that much. Also I believe the original android 7 port came from Santhosh M as found on this rom here so if he manages to resolve this then it will be implemented in all other ROMS.
About the blu.spark kernel I installed with all default choices through the Aroma installer except the addition of DT2W. I'm also using kernel adiutor for in-ROM customisations but so far I didn't need to change anything from the defaults.
I was thinking about installing Pure Nexus as well but now that I finally have all 3 ROMS I wanted working I'm afraid I'm going to mess it up. When I added Miui from this thread it messed up all secondary ROMS. I could boot into the main ROM which for me is Android 7.0 but all secondary ROMs would get stuck on the google screen and after about a minute the phone would reboot and go straight into recovery. I think it had something to do with the Miui kernel but I never actually managed to figure it out.
So it's October 23rd, is the video and Camera bug still present on all ROMs?
I use this https://plus.google.com/109509643115521921407/posts/1R42n7pzfbP
It may look sketchy because it's not on XDA but I've been using it and believe me, everything works including Google Camera's video recording.
Previously I was on Nitrogen OS and I loved it because of the OTA updates but I don't like to have to find workarounds for my camera needs.
I've tested most of Nougat ROMs for N5:
Santosh, FakeNexus, PureNexus, NitrogenOS, BOKROM and itigr.
The only real daily driver as of today, Oct 23th is FakeNexus.
The others are good, lots of customization, but too many bugs here and there.
FakeNexus is stable, very battery friendly (some of the list above had battery drain issues) and is the easiest to install and configure, but lacks the customizations of the others.
Nitrogen is the one if you want a ROM with many features with that stock feeling, customization options are integrated on Android configuration menu.
PureNexus also has lots of customization, but on a different approach, it's more like AOSP and customization features are on their app.
Fake Nexus all the way. I used it for 1 day it is very stable rom. NO FC, noticeable lags, etc.
But I need to go back to MM stock because of the battery. Battery drain too fast average use only can hold for 5-6 hours.

I've tried most of these ROMs on my phone and have settled on Fake Nexus. It is very similar to what the Google Pixel set up is and I just love it. I've found it to be very stable on my phone.

I haven't noticed the battery drain on the Fake Nexus ROM at all. In fact, I'm staying with the Nougat ROM because it doesn't have the battery drain that I was experiencing on any of the Marshmallow ones.

hmm odd. some ppl on fake nexus thread say the same (battery drain). maybe not all experiencing it. will try again when have free time
I agree with the Fake Nexus is the most stable one. I do get 3:45min SOT most of the time from 100% down to 1%. I only get 3->3:15 SOT on stock marshmallow. The phone is aggressively used for online gaming via Data using VPN lol
What about the Octo N ROM? So far I've found it to be really good for me with the elemental x kernel, battery life is great, I love my customization options and the ROM is smooth, I typically use lower CPU frequencies max is like 1574 so I don't worry too much about my phone dying. Here's some screenshots of my setup. I'd like to try the fake ROM tho, it's getting really good reviews and I like that.

Fake Nexus doesn't have root option and if you love customization, you will be out of luck.
how about Euclidean OS?
and which roms is odex?
I was just on Fake Nexus, loved the Stock Google feel with all the Pixel gimmicks, but I just went back to Pure Nexus as I love some customization options and want to use Substratum.. Can't stand all the white ui on 7.1 and substratum wasn't working on it yet
