I havent been on here in a loooong time, I have been busy with some other hobbies such as building box mods/ecigs. anyway, I need to re lock my bootloader and unroot and I use to have all the stuff i needed on my company laptop which is now gone. There was this tool that I could literally just press 1 for this and 2 for that, easiest thing ever. Looking for that again. any help would be much appreciated.
why do you need an SDK, are you building an app? what you need to do is just flash the factory IMG via fastboot https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

I installed Chainfire 3D (i missed the part about the "for 1 ghz devices only"), my phone attempted a reboot and would not boot back up. it is stuck in the "Google (w/ lock)" screen (just before the animation boot). I went into Recovery and tried cache wipe to no avail, I also tried Factory Reset, still the same. I had done a Factory Reset once before for another reason and it took very much longer that time, as this Reset seemed to go too quickly. I did a Factory Reset again, and it was just a quick. The phone is still stuck in that boot up. The Nexus 5 is rooted but using factory image. Do I have to go download the factory image and flash it?
First you should change the thread title to: "I bricked my Nexus." Don't blame something else because you didn't read.
If you can access the bootloader flash the factory image with fastboot.

Not good enough.... it's not a problem with Chainfire 3D at all and to cast any doubts on that because you didn't read is not at all fair to Chainfire!
You will have to flash the factory image and start over to recover your device.
Don't use an autoroot deal either do it the way the nice guy posted in the general forum sticky.

I think his revised thread title is fine. Mentioning Chainfire simply makes the issue clearer in the title. It doesn't blame Chainfire at all. He's looking for a solution to a specific problem and the new title would make it clear and waste less time. IF he changes it. And I agree he should.
Jeez... A little harsh, folks. How about helping him instead of taking down to him?

Of course it is a joke. The idea is that people shouldn't assume that their devices are bricked
just because they installed the wrong app without trying logical solutions first. It will just generate helpless posts like most of us are doing now. If Rom damaged, flash a new one.
If it was my fault for not reading, I shouldn't point someone else. If ART wont stick after Xposed...... If Im thirsty, why to call the doctor claiming low production of saliva
I'm not crucifying the OP, I'm glad he fixed it.
But we need to do something let members know know what BRICKED is intended for and
what to do and not do in order to get better help.
I am running CandyKat ROM and I was playing around with the "Sweetener packs". I changed my signal icon but I don't like how it overlaps with the wifi icon, so I booted back into recovery and reset all of the customizations to stock.
Everything returned back to normal except the signal icon.
What can I do?

Forget stickies, learn everything through just trying it for yourself and lots of restoring backups.
(wasn't really responding to you, just in general when users tell others to read stickies, they won't. Just tell them to try it)...yes I know I told him the answer. I was bored.
Read stickies if you're asking simple questions that you don't understand
Trying some things without understanding can lead to pain and suffering

Thats the point. Learn from mistakes. And that teaches to always make a backup. The sad thing is that most people would probably RMA for that and not learn anything.

I am wanting to change my recovery software from CW to TWRP and was wondering how to go about doing this. I have 3 backups I would like to try and save. One is the stock back up, then the other two are custom roms.
All recoveries can be fastboot flashed or via flashify
You don't need a stock backup. You can fastboot flash back to stock
Some good guides in my signature. Read "adb and fastboot. What is it?" and "how to flash factory images"
TWRP cannot restore CWM backups. Only philz can.

Hi,
I want to try the GPS fix solution by flashing the Android 4.4.1 radio on my Nexus 5.

But after searching the internet, I could not find it.
It is not even listed in the official Nexus 5 download image.

I only found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...t/modem-nexus-5-flashable-modems-efs-t2514095
On your RESOURCES link.
But, I don't know how to flash it. When I extracted the linked "modem" (is this the radio?), I got 2 files.
I am expecting to have a single .img radio image.
If you are interested in the GPS issue that I mentioned here is the link:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=72311
Basically, the GPS was working fine, perfect prior to 4.4.3 / 4.4.4 update.
A lot of people (if not all) fixed the issue by flashing the radio from 4.4.1.

You don't need the SDK to use fastboot. Fastboot is very easy to use. You can simply install fastboot using the 15 second installer. Please have a read of my "adb and fastboot. What is it?" thread.

No problem. Any time.
We definitely like to help people who are willing to learn, so respect to you for that!
It's much easier to help someone in trouble who is configured ahead of time and understand than it is to help someone in trouble who doesn't understand basic commands - this is why we (almost everyone) recommend fastboot (and adb in some cases) over toolkits.
Any adb or fastboot questions, please feel free to ask them in that thread.
