Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy s4 mini with a custom rom Resurrection_Remix_KK_v5.1.4-20140604-serrano3gxx. Is it possible to unlock a SIM card with a custom rom? This rom has the Terminal Emulator and I saw some threads that used this terminal to unlock the sim card but on a different device. Can anyone please help me? Should I install another rom to make it work? Thanks!

Before using any files mentioned, ask if they work on your model...if it is not the i9195.

So Clockwork Mod does not support installing Recovery in Samsung.
but you can try samfirmwares.com which allows samsung devices to flash root which might unlock the bootloader
Samsung device cannot be upgraded to rooted ROMS!

i wants to root my Samsung galaxy S4 mini I9192 4.4.2 Built id KOT49H.I9192DDUCOF2. when i google it ,all rooting guides said only about S4 mini I9192 4.4.2 without mentioning Built id(there are some but none of them same as mine). i am not expert but i know i m using kitkat OS, by rooting i can get Lolipop.

Anyway, S4 mini never receive official Lollipop update, so go ahead, root your device and flash custom ROM with 5.x.x baseband.

I know how to root then flash my phone, but I'm in Japan and using a Japanese provider. The phones here are fairly locked down and I don't want to run the risk of using a custom ROM and being unable to use my provider.
Does anyone know if there are any problems with installing a custom ROM and using a Japanese provider?
I'm using a Galaxy S6 and I hate the Samsung default.
