I found the phone all day long on Aliexpress. The phone is made in China anyway, so why wait for an invite when you can just do a search like I did? If they had an external sd card slot I'd be all over one of these!
http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=Original+Oneplus+One&catId=&initiative_id=
The only reasons to wait for a invite (or obtain one online) is because,
1. International version is cheaper ~$364 USD for 64GB vs. $400+ USD.
2. Faster shipping since International version is not shipped from China.
3. Has bands that will work with TMobile/AT&T 4G LTE; whereas, the Chinese version does not work with TMobile/AT&T 4G LTE (can be unlocked via http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031 ) but still requires effort.
4. Warranty purposes.
5. External sd slot really a necessity? Its nice to have but not a deal breaker as the phone has 64GB internal storage (~54GB useble)
6. International version is shipped with CM11S; whereas, Chinese OPO is shipped with ColorOS (or OPO's AOSP ROM). You can change it to CM11S which is easy but any average user wouldn't feel as comfortable switching to CM11S channel.

I don't know about that?
Original OnePlus One oneplus_one 4G LTE phone Android 4.3 13MP Snapdragon 801 2.5Ghz 3GB RAM 16GB 64GB NFC 3100mAh Cell Phone
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...-3-13MP-Snapdragon-801-2-5Ghz/1954232031.html
http://g02.s.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1Toiz...dth=739&hash=252bbeffa52c13de1bab515ec6b9b746
So, it does do AT&T and 3g/4g and LTE.
And there is a 1 year warranty.
Now, for me after using iPhones in the past. I absolutely require having an sd card. I store all my photos, music and backups on it along with roms and gapps packages.
Operating System CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4 Depends on seller you need to read the listings just like you do here. If you don't take the time to ask questions beforehand and end up with a headache then its the buyers fault for not doing due diligence.
Oh, and lastly you don't have to beg or wait for an invite. Which I think is total horse excrement.

It does not do AT&T 4G LTE on the Chinese version. You can unlock them via the link above.
Warranty is for the Chinese region, not for anywhere else. Even if warranty is provided by Aliexpress, it is not fulfilled by OnePlus themselves.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/5-reasons-to-not-buy-the-oneplus-one-from-scalpers.35689/
1. You won’t have warranty. If your phone was intended to be used in the Chinese market, you still have a one-year warranty, but only in China. Only the global versions are covered by the international warranty. Your attempt to communicate with scalpers could be ignored, and even if they do agree to take back your phone, you’ll face significant delays due to shipping and customs.
2. Incompatible LTE bands outside of China. The Chinese version of the One is prepared to work on China Mobile, which uses TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE technology that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Additionally, the Chinese version lacks WCDMA band 4 and LTE bands 4 and 17. So depending on your carrier, connectivity will be limited.
3. Risk of bricking your phone. While you can install CynanogenMod yourself, flashing through fastboot mode is not for everyone and requires installing specific software and writing code in your command terminal. If you brick your Chinese One, please refer to point 1.
4. You pay more. The scalpers charge a higher price outright. Including shipping and customs duties, expect the price to exceed $400. This goes against our philosophy of creating an amazing product with a price that can disrupt. Help us create an efficient market by not rewarding the scalpers.
5. Miss out on the OnePlus experience. Since the beginning, our goal was to fuse superior product with unparalleled customer experience. By buying from a scalper, you are missing out on dedicated services available only for OnePlus Global users.

Fine, waving white flag. I give up. I really thought it was something I wanted but the SD card is my reason. Just thought I'd throw it it there since aliexpress is generally a really good site for picking up Chinese goods cheap.

Buying the OnePlus from OnePlus directly is cheaper than buying it from Aliexpress.
The phone has 64GB internal storage for ~$364. Not buying the OPO because it doesn't have a sd card.......
It has 64GB internal storage. What are you storing on your phone? Yeah it'd be nice to have a sdcard slot, but if it doesn't then its not a deal breaker with 64GB internal storage.

After losing ask kinds of pics and docs with the iPhone I switched to the s3. Having the ability to preserve important pics and docs is important. I had a note 1 that I lost a bunch of stuff on because I didn't have an SD card. And for my final reason, I used to run cm on my phone and I think I just outgrew it. The other roms available have more to offer. So, come next month I'll renew with att again and get the s5 for 99 dollars. Then I can root and rom and have an SD card.

If you live in China or Chinese based cities like Hong Kong, you can get the OPO from Taobao. No one uses Aliexpress in China because Aliexpress is the Chinese market catered to the Western market, hence if you buy from Aliexpress you get ripped off.
http://s.taobao.com/search?q=oneplus&app=detailproduct
Depending what you choose, you can get it way cheaper than Aliexpress or even OnePlus.net. But yes, buying directly from OnePlus is safer and is a fixed price.

You should use cloud backup services like Dropbox, Google+ or Facebook. I use all three to keep my photos safe just in case.

Well that's just a matter of making sure your stuff is backed up. Backing up an OPO is no harder than backing up an sd card (which is also necessary). Your point about CM and ROMs is moot too, it's ridiculously easy to unlock/root this device and run whatever ROM you want to run. Sorry if this seems harsh but none of what you're saying is making any sense.
Transmitted via Bacon
Dont forget that if you will be hit with VAT and import charges on the device, not sure what the US charges are like but for UK it would cost an extra 20% on the total price and + £10 handling and possible extra taxes which makes it extremely expensive!
I havent begged for an invite, just sat and waited now I have an invite and my opo will be shipping soon .
If you need the SD card slot so you can permanently store precious photos on your device I think you have the wrong idea of keeping photos safe! Please use a backup service like Google+ photos, this would save your photos (automatic backups) so you will never run out of space as you can keep it on the cloud .
With dropbox installed you can automatically upload photos taken to ur dropbox account. Once set up, no further user interaction is required. 64gb and SD card slot! Not a problem.

The US/Canadian version of the HTC One X(L) only comes in the 16GB version. You can find the international Tegra 3 version of the One X online with 32GB, but no US carriers carry that model. If you want the XL with 32GB, you need to look to Europe, Asia, or Australia. I believe they have the LTE variant with 32GB of space.
What he said ^^
Only Aussies and Europeans have 32GB I believe

I stand corrected. I thought the Hong Kong version had it as well, but it's only 16GB. Interestingly though, the HK version supports 42Mbps HSPA+ as well as LTE, and supports Tri-band LTE (European and HK bands). Wish ours could do that!

Aussie One XL also has HSPA+ :good:
I'm from Australia and we have the 32GB version but they are not cheap they cost around $650 while the quad core version cost here $500. I wouldn't pay the extra unless I was really desperate for 4G. Btw I'm on a contract just in case you wonder.

I don't see the lack of internal storage as a problem. If you have good coverage, and a decent amount of data, there are plenty of cloud services to fill in the gaps.
I almost considered selling my HOX and getting the German version for the extra space, and because I travel to Europe frequently. Two things stopped me. The $725 price tag, and the fact that the German carriers are doing their LTE buildout in the rural areas (areas poorly serviced by DSL and 3G). Only one of the three cities I am usually in has LTE coverage. At that point, I might as well just take my AT&T HOX over there and use the older, but still fast HSPA+ network.
Hey guys!
Thanks for the help!! AT&T version here we go =D

16gb is ok
I know this wasn't the question so sorry for off topic - I'm assuming this is WHY you're looking for the 32gb XL.
After transferring a ton of photos and videos taken with my old phone, a couple of albums worth of mp3s, and 2 audio books, I still have...4-5 gb free. 16gb is honestly more than sufficient. Just don't expect to load a bunch of full length movies or something onto your phone. I'm not missing the sdcard slot as much as I thought I would.
Not missing as much as I thought, but id pay a 200 dollar premium for a f'ing sdcard slot.

All of my music are in FLAC, so I need space =(
One of the things that made me stay away from the International version, was the quality of audio. The gsmarena review shows a poor performance in audio quality. On the other hand the AT&T version uses the same hardware as the HTC One S, which had a really good performance in audio =D
Here in Brazil the carriers offers a really bad service
The fastest speed I had in a HDSPA+ network was about 5MB/s Download and 2MB/s upload... balparking a dailly usage I would say the download is about 2MB/s and 0,8MB/s of upload.
And.. LTE .. who knows in the near future =(

I am looking for a BRAND NEW Galaxy 7.7 32gb version to buy for a reasonable price -- not like over $600 from Amazon.
Anyone knows where to get it in the USA?
Presently Verizon is selling the 16gb version for $399. I need 32gb because 16gb will run out of space after I am done with all my files/apps. I know you can put a microSD card in but most of my apps can't install/go to microSD. So I am restricted to 32gb version otherwise I would have taken the Verizon wireless version.
Pretty sure the 32gb version never saw the light of day.

Hello folks! Well, let me preface my question with this: I love my infuse. Unfortunately, AT&T has become to expensive, so I must switch over to another carrier. I'm 15 so I don't really have a source of income, but I would very much like a new phone. I will most likely be switching over to Verizon, and getting a phone then. So here is my main question: Should I buy the SGS3 VZW variant, or wait for a while until Google releases their new line-up?
Things I am looking for in a phone:
Screen size: 4.5-5.0''
Brand: Samsung, Motorola, or Nexus branded phone (Preferably Samsung)
Micro SD: Must have (I bought a 64GB Sandisk for 100$)
CPU: Preferably a Quad-core, dual would be acceptable if overclockable.
Ram: Preferably 2GB, 1GB is acceptable (I hear that Android utilizes RAM very efficiently)
Radio: As long as it has 3G, I'm fine
Audio card: Preferably something with a Wolfson, I really enjoy Voodoo Sound
Camera: The higher the better (preferably with a low shutter lag camera)
Thank you guys for your time,
Connor Baker
Here's the thing. Verizon I find is the most expensive of the bunch. So if your looking to save money I'm not sure Verizon is the way to go.v
Another thing I thought of, if it was just me I would do a prepaid plan. I know T-Mobile offers unlimited talk, text, and web for 50 a month. If it was just my phone on the plan that's how I would go. Especially if I already had a phone. I think at&t offers similar deals.
I like Samsung myself but they seem to be doing away with microsd storage. I can deal with a non removable battery but I don't like cloud storage.
Ultimately the choice is yours and if you do decide to wait for a new line up of phones maybe you can switch to a prepaid plan until then. Save a couple bucks anyway.

Thanks for your quick reply I may have not explained in depth enough why I have to leave AT&T. My parents just recently finalized their divorce, and my Dad and I (who are on AT&T, with my younger brother and Mom on Verizon ) literally can not afford to continue with the plan. Either I get a *dumb* phone on prepaid t-mobile, or I can get a smartphone on Verizon. Both my parents are really tight on money, but my Mom would be willing to take me on to her plan (Verizon that is).
I was previously hoping to save up and buy a GT-i9305, but that most likely not be possible for a VERY long time. I am looking forward to the LG Optimus G gracing the U.S, but I have no clue whether LG will follow through with this phone and provide software updates. I often hear that LG has a bad reputation.
Thanks for your time,
Connor Baker
P.S: I most likely will want to develop android, so that's why I'm aiming for android phones. I may however, go over to the light side and get an iPhone 5 as I know it will be supported for 2 years at least.

You could always switch over to Straight Talk SIM, (BYOP) for $45/mo for unlimited talk, text, and data. Simply buy the SIM card, insert into your phone, and activate it. You can even port out your existing number to the new plan, and your ATT line will be closed. If you get an ATT Compatible Straight Talk SIM, you won't even need to unlock your phone to use it.

I was thinking about this... The thing is though, as awesome as my infuse is on Scott's CM10, it's still old. There's only so much a single core processor can do (ex. Music stutters while browsing the web or reading a book). I'm really looking into Verizon, and their SGS 3. I've looked at it's forums a few minutes ago, and it doesn't seem to have gotten nearly as much love as our precious Infuse. That kind of worries me. Ooooohhh.... That stings. So a quick question on opinion, how future proof is the SGS 3 at Verizon? I understand that you can OC the CPU, but I'm mainly worried about the poor GPU. Also, it's the advent of the quad-core phone, and 2GB of RAM is the new standard. I'm really perturbed now at the lack of attention in terms of development that the SGS 3 is getting. It's a big turn off.
My parents main problem with me not having a phone is that they can't contact me.
I would say go by a Verizon store soon and give the SGS3 a test spin based on the way you use the phone... you will no doubt have to keep it for a couple of years and we will all ( that are under contract) have to sit back and watch more cool stuff come out that we will have to wait to get. I have the International SGS3 - take a quick look at the dev for it - I am amazed... and lovin' it !!

I know... I had actually wanted to get the international, but unfortunately I don't have enough money to do so. that's why I'm scared of how little development that phone has going on.
EDIT: Also, I will be going into the Verizon store to test out the SGS 3 tomorrow. Do you think it'll be really laggy on account of them never restarting the phone? Is it strange I always get the urge to clear the demo phone's Cache and Dalvik? xD Maybe so. Just a little worried at the prices of the plans.

Ok. So I went to the Verizon store at the mall near me and messed around with the phone there. I have no idea why, but compared to my infuse, the thing felt clunky and slow. No OC kernel on Scott's CM10. I thing I may just wait for the LG Optimus G to arrive, but I'm kind of wary with LG smartphones. Has anyone owned one before?

No Nexus device will ever have the capability to use MicroSD.
Why Nexus devices have no SD card
TL;DR: They want to be like the iPhone with a unified memory structure.
verizon has some nice things like much better insurance and shared data, (att followed up with similar data plans though) but the pricing is very similar between the two companies. they tend to mirror each other but what verizon doesnt say is that any phone with 3g needs a data plan, not that you are looking at texting phones or anything.. other things are verizon has free verizon to verizon minutes. att has free mobile to mobile on any network and roll over minutes.
the plans look basically identical but att is in some ways a better deal and verizon tends to have fees you don't think about. but you also have to consider that verizon has a stronger network. it is less frequent now but i still get dropped calls for no reason on att. and the lte coverage is basically nothing. but then you have to look at the fact that hspa+ is faster than verizon 3g and lte is still in it's infantcy even with verizon and verizons gs3 has locked bootloaders (wtf) their phones are not cross network compatible and have isolated development due to different radio hardware and firmware....
sprint may be a better deal money wise. they get android updates when att and verizon lag behind in that area. they also are much cheaper and get better htc phones than verizon...
but if it's just you and not a family plan then what you need is strait talk. they have the gs2 on their website and that is still a great phone but i here the bootloaders are locked, it's bassically an i777 without the att emblem but someone tried to flash other firmware on one and it didn't work.. but maybe that person didn't know what they were doing? if the screen res is too low for you on the gs2 you could just buy a phone out right and get a strait talk sim card. that's what i'll do when my contract is up.. no question about that at all.
Well, now I've turned my sights on the Optimus G, and the specs look amazing. I have almost no doubt that it will land on Verizon before or on the holidays... So, what are peoples experiences with LG smartphones? Any opinions on the Optimus G?
i think you'll have to wait and see on that one. the screen looks to have amazing specs. and the s4 snapdragon dualcore is very fast so the s4 pro quad core has got to be a beast. but i messed with the lg nitro which had great specs at the time and it was kinda laggy. not that i think it would slow down with a load but the interface was slow. i also played with the thrill and it seem fast enough but the 3d screen was not great and the camera app took time to load.
from what i understand there was a lot of frustration with development on the thrill. the g2x/optimus 2x was a big seller but there was a certain amount of screen problems, no other major complaints though. i think you'll have to just wait and see if they got it right this time. the hardware is there for sure. you just might want to check out the forums and see what users are saying.

Well, I went over to the LG Optimus G forum and it basically consists of people asking for a way to unlock the bootloader, and fear of being abandoned in terms of software updates. That was kind of shocking to read through some 20 pages of anger, fear, and bitterness from past phones.
Now I'm pretty sure I'll just wait for the GT-i9305 to arrive in the U.S I guess. Anyone heard anything about this?

The GT-i9305 is the Euro version of the SGS3 and as such would most likely only be available here as an import. As it also has Euro LTE radio, US LTE would be a no-go.

So the U.S will just have to wait for the S4? That's kind of sad...
Connor,
FYI
You'll be able to purchase the Nexus 4 unlocked in the Play Store starting November 13th for $299 (8GB), $349 (16GB) or $199 with a two-year contract on T-Moble (16GB).
Anyone have any idea if/when this will be available in the UK or Europe?
If there's good reason to think it will be out soon I will hold off purchasing the note 10.1 for now....
Thanks
Can't say about the UK but over here in Oz they're as rare as hens teeth... Only found the 32gb 3g version at JB Hifi... and now its not advertised on their site anymore..... Oh yeah, cost $850Aud too which is really up there in price....

Probably be cheaper buying a 16 gig version then buying a 32 gig card from amazon.

On Thursday I finally got notification that the 32 Gb wiFi version was now available in Holland, so perhaps the 3G version will not be too far behind in Europe/the UK.
I bought a WiFi version from the US a few months ago and even with import costs of €100 it was good value - can you pick up a 3G one from another country ?

Thanks for the responses....There don't seem to me many available for shipping even internationally....there was one on Ebay US a few days ago but that would have set me back about £540 after all the import duties and shipping...
That would be £140 more than I could get it for in the UK with the £50 Samsung rebate.
I don't think I'd want to pay much more than £50 more for the extra 16gb, especially as i plan on sticking a 64gb card in there anyway...
I also have to decide between the grey and the white.....would definitely be going for grey if it weren't for the reports here of differing build quality between the two...

Differing build qualities, really?
I got a 32 gb from amazon uk for around £20 and 64 gig from around £40

Mate, my 32gb 3g grey note 10.1 has no faults.... I bought a 2nd for my brother and his has no faults. I bought a 16gb 3g grey one for a friend and they have no problems with build quality.... Considering the only real difference between the grey and white notes is colour then why would build quality differ?
And trust me, I have the 32gb version with a 64gb sd card. I'm running out of space... What you have you will use or lament the fact you don't have enough. Hindsight is 20/20 and you will regret not getting the larger memory...
Thanks again for the advice
Yeah, I will definitely be getting a 64GB MicroSD card. And I agree with you ultramag69 that will likely regret it if i settle for the 16gb note. However with the current purchase options (no 32GB 3G model available directly in UK) I just don't think I could justify spending £140 on 16GB of storage.

I totally agree that this sounds ridiculous. I'm still sceptical even after reading this thread. It's not exactly a scientific sampling however it does give pause for thought regarding the models available in the UK at least.

The best way: wait for an invite and purchase directly from OnePlus.

I want to change for galaxy S5, nexus 5 or iPhone 5S.

To my knowledge all 16GB phones are China-edition and thus
a) missing international LTE bands
b) come with a chinese OS (ColorOS) instead of CM
Afaik all early contest winners who won the 16GB edition were upgraded to white 64GB editions.

Your knowledge is wrong.
1. The LTE works fine in Europe for the chinese version.
2. You can flash CM11S stock image.
3. There are 16GB international phones for sure.
I bought mine from lenteen.fr , paid via paypal, received 1 week later
But now they ship from EU (mine was shipped from china) and it should take around 48h
If your buying on Gumtree then make sure you pick it up as there are a lot of paypal scammers on there.
I'm selling one of mine on there at the moment and I have had a few people asking if I would post and take paypal even though I offered to deliver(I travel a lot with work) so you just know they would make a paypal claim as soon as they get the phone.
Likewise if your buying on there you get a lot of scammers looking to pull a fast one.
If you are buying a sealed in box phone then you can't check for the yellow screen until you pay for it.

That's a dangerous statement as neither chinese nor international OnePlus work as expected across all of Europe due to the missing LTE band 20.
Furthermore the chinese 1+ is missing LTE bands 4/17/38/40 which equals to 43% of all LTE bands missing. True it will work in most parts of Europe where the international one is working due to Europe's huge reliance on LTE bands 3/7/20.
Additionally the chinese version is missing 3G/HSPA band 4
Conclusion: my point still stands that the chinese version is NOT the same as the intl. connectivity-wise.

I specifically said "comes with", not that CM11S cannot be flashed anyway. Even if it is not very likely, they could break CM11S official updates based on IMEI, serial or other factors if you are not entitled to it. You would still have the "normal" CM11 though.

They changed production schedule way before mass-producing the device - only a few international devices were shipped with 16GB to journalists and maybe very early contest winners. Fact is that you could NEVER buy the 16GB intl edition.
Just bought mine off Gumtree from a local guy who had pre-ordered but bought an HTC M8 in the meantime.
£320 for a SandStone Black 64GB, brand new and unopened - absolute bargain
Hi there. Im from Barcelona, Spain, and I bought my Oneplus One from myefox.es. I bought the white 64GB one, with DHL shipping service (was here in 6 days) and it costed me 313€ total price (around 270 pounds, guessing) Yes, it is the chinese version, but it comes with CM11S installed, unlocked bootloader, stock recovery.
Works perfect, no problem with reception, calls, signal... not eiter in spain nor uk, as I travel to Glasgow quite often so, so far, so great!
I think it is a great deal, so you might want to go and check the website, I think they have one in english too, but this is the one that I bought it from.
Regards to all XDA community,
Paco.

Sorry, you're right. No invites for 16gb phones now..
As for CM, since they posted a ROM on their website, it's very unlikely they would ever start doing something you mentioned to the CN versions... Even if the 1% chance came to be, you can always get the latest OTA zip on xda
Gumtree probably best place like I said just meet them at there house or yours exchange details if you feel need. There some good deals ATM
