Is there anybody here who wants an invite to buy the OnePlus One? This isn't a case of first come, first served, I'll be selecting who gets an invite (if anyone)

I would love to get an invite. Both my dad and I have the one x for two years now, his has not aged as well and constantly has battery issues. He's been dying to replace it, and was disappointed that the oneplus one was such a limited release. I could use the invite to get him one.

You can still get it in India, many Indians have bought it and had it delivered there by using a mail forwarding service. I also had to use a mail forwarding service (Shipito) to get my two sent to Australia. It only cost me about $35USD extra, I imagine the cost to send it to India would be similar.

Absolutely - but at that price range (including Indian customs), it takes me to the price range of Xperia Z2 with full local warranty - and that's making me pause
Any other invites?
If anyone else has an invite for a One Plus One I would surely appreciate one. I love my Evita but time is moving on and I have seen this community dwindle so I would be excited to move to a more active device.

So I purchased my One X on launch day at best buy (May 6th) and have premier silver so I have a 45 day return period.
I was emailed a rewardzone mobile deal today for a free $100 gc (rewardzone points) for any cell phone purchase and 24 mo agreement including the one x.
I will be going to bestbuy and getting the deal or its getting returned and repurchased. Looks like white is out of stock , but grey is still in stock if anyone is interested. Looks to be online only deal.

Just a heads up , I went to the bestbuy store and they wouldnt do a thing for me. They told me since its online only I would have to call in and see what they can do. I will try that and let you know what happens. Worst case I return it and reorder online. Im leading towards that anyways since I have a dead pixel.
I was directed to call rewardzone directly, through 1888bestbuy. They said I could get the $100, but I would need to return my phone and get it from reward zone directly.

Best buy was the only place you could find this phone in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada).. they seem to always have a few extra phones that are in high demand.. the thing is, it usually takes a little while for them to help you out... but at least I got my HOX on release day. the rogers store didn't even have any

What did you have to tell them to get hooked up?
All I told them was I received the deal in my email for the 100 dollar giftcard w/ any cell phone purchase (which i did less than 30 days ago) asked him what my options were , return it or if there was something he could do.
I just tried this, and they were snippy with me. They said that I'd have to return the phone. I mentioned that I "had a friend" who was just given the credit, and the rep said "I can neither confirm nor deny that." Sounded like a canned speech.

I am, yeah. I'm going to try again later today just to be sure. I'm interested in hearing if anyone else gets them to do this. I have and like my white one, and I don't really feel like having to go through the hassle of the return process.

so i checked my bank account and the money that was spent for the nexus 5 was returned to my bank account?? what could be going on, it still says pending on the google page for my order.
Google put a pending transaction on the account to check funds are available and I believe it only lasts a couple of days before being removed.

Yep Google pre auth your card to ensure its a working card they ONLY debit your account once the phone is shipped. As such the money for the phone will sit on your account as an auth amount taking it off your available balance. When Google don't collect the money it becomes avail again. Once the phone ships they will debit your account again for the full amount again and collect the funds this is it will show on your account as a transaction you can see.

From a technical standpoint it's illegal in many states in the US to fully charge a customer for an item that has not shipped direct to them (meaning it's no longer in the possession of the retail seller). Not every company obeys that law as they should hence the concept of a pre-order payment status in some situations. Pretty sure that Google does the pre-authorization hold for the price of the devices they sell to ensure the money "is there" at least when the order is put in place so they aren't just holding a device for you - you might not actually be able to pay for it at that time, and if another customer is then why screw the other customer out of the potential purchase, for the most part.

I think its very easy to "scam" someone with trading for a invite since you're giving up a tablet. And chances are if they have a extra invite, then it would be expired by the time the tablet arrived.
So neither sides would feel very secure making the trade, thats just my two cents.

Understood, I would be willing to send the tablet first and once received, the other party could send the invite. I may have too much trust but I consider most of the XDA community to be very trustworthy, in my experiences. :cyclops:

Me donate the invite? If I had one to donate I would be donating them left and right as I got them to fellow XDA'ers/OPO'ers (w/o devices ofc), although I am actually looking for one myself. In regards to trading the tablet and the insecurities someone may have, I would be happy to pack it up and send it via UPS and provide tracking information and pictures immediately or whatever the generous donator asked as I know the invites only last 3 days(?) and then 24 hours once given out. Just an idea. I was just hoping I would be able to purchase one by now so I did not become a member of the OPO community until very recently which I unfortunately assume sets me back quite a ways. Anyways, thanks for the information and I shall be on my way with my fingers crossed

I've had my OPO for about 3 weeks now and still no invites to give out. It'll be awhile.

There's people on eBay selling invites for as low as $40 that's how I got my OPO, considering what people are selling them for it was a deal. I would consider that route.

Here's the situation, I want to buy this phone for my mother so I though I'd take a look at amazon UK as they had sellers listed as OnePlus themselves but I was suspicious, after some searching I found they only sell the chinese version on amazon which I've heard has more problems
I don't know a single person who owns one so getting an invite is kinda....impossible.
Should I settle for the Chinese version or scour the internet till I can get an invite, time is important here as she needs it for work.

Look around the invite threads here and on the oneplus forums, someone will probably throw you an invite. I'd give you one if I had any
Just to expand, in my opinion it's worth trying to get an invite to buy one from oneplus as I think there's issues with your warranty if you buy from anywhere else.

I'm not sure. I have been on the beta builds as soon as they launched, and was getting OTA updates as well.
Amazon sells it $100 cheaper every day. Maybe there will be a better price from Amazon or BestBuy for a short of time. Stay tuned.
I received my $100 off code after signing up. It's only valid until June 7th though.
