Hangouts Dialer over Data - Verizon HTC One (M8)

So with the new Hangouts Dialer app we can make phone calls over data.
If we do that, will that go against my cellular minutes?
I know its data, but Verizon has a tendency to find a way to charge for anything.

Data = minutes.
WiFi ≠ Cellular Data.
Hangouts dialer uses WiFi.

Disable Voice/Video Calls over pro

I use Sipdroid on my phone and it can interrogate into the phone so when you make a call it automatically calls with Voip over 3g (or wifi). I would liek to know weather it is possible to completely disable making voice/Video calls and texts over mobile network. As i would like to start giving android phones to my employees with data sims because data sims have much cheaper data rates but if you make a call/text its really expensive. And i wouldnt want an employee to accidentally exit sipdroid so when they make a call it doesn't use voip. also I still want to be able to receive regular calls.
Thanks.

Google Voice and International Calls Help

I am going to Mexico and plan on taking my EVO with me on my honeymoon. I would like to use Google Voice to make calls over wifi so I do not incur any extra charges while I am away. Is there a clear guide as to what I must do so I don't end up with any surprises on my bill? If I disable text and data by calling Sprint will GV still work? Does data still have to be turned on? Thanks!

[Q] Not receiving incoming calls when 2G data is in use

Hi,
I'm using HTC Sensation, and can't seem to receive incoming calls when 2G data connection is active. Same goes for SMS messages. As soon as the "E" sign goes blank or if I disable mobile data, the calls start coming through.
I've tested this out with SIMs from other networks as well. Problem persists with them as well.
A little research shows DDTM (whatever that is) needs to be disabled. HTC Sensation has no such setting, the closes it comes to is "Enable always on mobile data" which is disabled on my phone - still having this problem.
After a little while of continuous mobile data use, the phone gets hot (as expected) and the battery starts to drain real fast.
Aren't incoming calls supposed to interrupt mobile data connection to host calls?
No, with edge you can't have data & calls at the same time. People should automatically go to voicemail if you have an active data connection (actually pulling down/sending data).
As far as I know, a call has never interrupted my data while on edge, back before 3G

I don't think that's true. I had Hero before this one and data used to be on all the time, it always got interrupted in the event of an incoming call. Hell that's the default behavior on any cell phone from Nokia to Samsung. Even Galaxy S 2 does it!
Could it have to do anything with permissions?
Was wondering, is this an application-related thing? Specifically if an app doesn't have the "Read phone state and identity" permission, and uses mobile data, it won't interrupt itself when an incoming phone call comes in.
Just an idea.

it may have been connected but not sending/receiving. If you're sending/receiving data (active connection) at the time that a call comes through, then it will get bounced to voicemail.

Cannot dial out -- reset phone dialer associations?

Not sure if this is a coincidence or what, but the problem started after I flashed the new wifi calling app. Since then, I have wiped /system and reflashed ARHD to no avail.
Background: I am on TMO's $30 100 minute plan, so in an effort to conserve airtime, I use sip calling most of the time. I am using the native sip client (internet calling). I have it set to use internet calls whenever data is available. I have Google Voice set to prompt each time I make a call. If I choose to use Google Voice, it will make the call over cellular. Otherwise, it will make the call over sip. Works great, and everyone sees the same Google Voice number.
However, since flashing the new wifi calling, I am now stuck in a Google Voice prompt loop. So for the time being, I have switched off GV prompting, so all outbound calls are using the sip connection.
Here's a video to show what goes on. For some reason, the video stops recording right before going back to the GV prompt if I decline GV.
I'm trying not to wipe all data and start over, so I need to know what specifically needs to be wiped. I tried deleting data for the dialer, but it doesn't fix anything. Maybe it's an association problem with which dialer to use?
The issue is present regardless or whether wifi calling is on, regardless of if I have the GB or ICS version installed.

[Q] tmobile and google voice?

ok, so im getting the 100 minute, unlimited data 30$ tmobile plan on my sprint nexus 5 cause sprint totally sucks.
i have a google voice number and i was just wondering, now that hangouts has calling integrated, can i just use google voice number to make and receive calls over data?
im reading conflicting things, like some people want call forwarding from tmobile (im thinking they want their cell number forwarded to google voice) which 1)isnt an option and 2) not really needed since people will be calling my seperate google voice number
also reading that tmobile blocks google voice on their prepaid plans for some folks
is anyone using the 30 month 100 minute unlimited tmobile data plan and making and receiving calls using a seperate google voice number?
It's working for me. Just make sure you check the option in hangouts settings to receive calls on the device, as well. Now trying to forward phone calls made to my T-Mobile number to my GV Voice Mail doesn't work since it's prepaid. At least, last time I tried it didn't.
As long as you have good service it works fine. Tried it over edge and kept falling to place calls. Where as edge works fine to place calls over normal cell network not using data.
Google confirmed calls to and from your Google voice number that you answer through the hangouts app are 100% data usage.
For any of you who have merged hangouts with Google Voice, is sending SMS *incredibly* slow?
Even when the keyboard doesn't freeze, a fast text message takes about 5-10 seconds to send.
App loading and navigation is also laggy. I wonder if it has to do with the mmssms database merged and having to load it.
First, you sure can just use Google Voice number to make and receive calls over data. In fact, Hangouts only use data, not voice/talk minute at all.
Second, prepaid mobile phone plans do not have conditional forwarding which is required to forward incoming calls to mobile DID (Direct Inward Dialing -- telephone number) to Google Voice DID. Therefore, you are correct. It is not an option. Moreover, you are also correct as to there is no such need to forward calls from mobile DID to Google Voice DID due to people will be using separate Google Voice DID. I would suggest you port Sprint mobile DID to Ring.to and have Ring.to forward all incoming calls and texts to your Google Voice DID. Consequently, people have been using your current Sprint mobile DID will continue be able to contact you without changing your DID. You just get a new DID from T-Mobile when you sign up for $30 prepaid plan for 100 minutes talk, unlimited text and data with first 5 GB up to LTE speeds.
Third, I am using $30 prepaid plan for 100 minutes talk, unlimited text and data with first 5 GB up to LTE speeds and using Hangouts for outgoing calls. It just work flawlessly! I use Voxox for incoming calls and do not use mobile DID came with T-Mobile $30 plan at all.
