Hi,
I keep getting report: Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped.
My phone is rooted, I'm on stock ROM and stock kernel, and I'm using xposed framework. However, I didn't update any of xposed modules recently, and I didn't have this problem earlier. So I don't think it could be caused by xposed.
My Google Play services version is 6.1.09 (1459805-036).
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Vratislav Jindra
Possibly fixed
OK, I just Googled a little bit more, and found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/fix-google-play-service-6-1-05-6-1-07-t2882844 - it is for Galaxy S4 and Google Play services 6.1.05-6.1.07, however it obviously worked for me as well.
The problem was (hopefully) xposed module called Disable Location Consent (v1.2). I think it is not be compatible with the newest Google Play services.
Moderators can close/delete this thread, if they want. I'm sorry for posting before Googling, however this question wasn't asked before for this particular version of Google Play services and device.

Thanks for posting the solution yourself!
I bet there will be users finding this thread, when searching for a solution.
So, no need to delete it, but that's just my 2 cents [emoji106]
I myself had the same problem, and found the same solution googling.
Thanks again for taking the trouble to post the solution after you found it! [emoji2]

Thanks for posting the solution man.. Just disabled that module and will see now..
You saved a lot of time and possible factory reset
Thank you so much for this solution! Seems to have worked for me, too. And it makes sense, too. If I turn on GPS now the consent window has changed and obviously Google has implemented an option to never be asked again which renders the DisableLocationConsent Module useless anyway. If only Google copied great Xposed modules more often!
Edit: In addition to the constant force closes of the play services I also had an unusual high data and battery usage since the update. Let's see if this gets back to normal, too...

I disabled Google Play Services and Google Services Framework on my Moto G, because I don't need them and the Play Store (I sideload all my apps from the pc).
But there's a big problem: if I disable even one of them, and try to enable the geolocation, it only uses the option "high precision" and, worse then that, it makes all the android framework crash and reboot if I try to open any geolocation-using app (like Google Maps or the camera with geo-ON). Any hint to solve this issue? I really want to get rid of these services, for battery and privacy reasons (in particular, battery improvements are really noticeable!).
UPDATE: I don't get this bug UNLESS I reboot the phone. If I do, I get this issue. If I don't, Maps still works even with these services disabled. I'd like anyway to solve this problem so I don't have to make laborious procedures everytime the phone reboot (I already have to kill 5 motorola processes, i.e. Motocare and Motorola Services ones).
I've attached a pair of screens to clarify my situation. I'm on the STOCK and NO-ROOTED rom.
Thank you very much in advance
So you do need Google services? But don't want to need them, my advice flash stock android ROM without using G-apps

No, I'm on the stock android and not need them. But if I disable them, and I reboot the phone, all the geolocating app I use make the system crash, that's a weird behaviour. To convince yourself, you can disable both the services, restart the phone, open Google Maps and press the location button.
If I don't reboot the phone, instead, Google Maps continues to work even with this two services disabled... that's what confuses me
I basically meant stock and stripped like CM11 without Gapps

Basically, you're going to have to root and flash your phone. You can't remove Google services on stock.

I am one of those who do they everyday work without google stuff and without gapps. I found out several problems:
Some apps do not install because of missing Google Maps API
Some apps fc at startup bacause of missing Maps API or market license check issues
Some apps hardcoded links to several Google Apps and therefor fc or react unexpectedly on certain cases.
No access to Play Store (i tried nearly every alternative market, but nothing is as good for free apps as play store) Meanwhile, F-Droid provides nearly everything you need

Thank you for the intereeting link. Unluckily it regards mainly rooted devices... Pretty interesting though
Let me see if I get this right. You purchased a phone manufactured by Google, using a stock Rom compiled by Google, and you are trying to used Google software (Google Maps or Motorola Camera software- by Google) and you find it surprising that the system crashes after disabling Google's framework? And you are hoping to solve this without rooting or flashing a custom Rom? Seriously?
Sorry for the ironic tone, but you really need to give the idea of making a thread for this a second thought, my friend.
No problem for the ironic tone, but I can ensure you that I'm running Google Maps and (Motorola, not Google!) Camera App geotag WITHOUT having these two services enabled, and they work flawlessy the problem is ONLY when I REBOOT the phone, in which case I must enable and disable again these services in order to make apps with geolocation work without crashing the system. I will attach a screenshot of my running processes in the STOCK and NOROOT rom, and I ensure you that apart this small, boot-time issue, everything works great on my phone (with a great battery boost, I've been able to achieve 9 hours of screen time plus 1hr of calls, what do you think?).
I've about 50 apps installed, I just don't like Motorola and Google ones because they keep running about all the time, sucking out a lot of private data and battery juice
Well I am new to Android and also have/had problems using the moto g. I disabled all Google apps and stuff I could find and the OS is not really stable, I get quite a few hiccups and the phone crashes every now and then. I thought the nova launcher might be the problem, but I also suspect the OS in general.
But unlike you I don't use any Google stuff, so not even maps.
Well, I am selling the phone anyway.
No crashes here apart this Maps tweak, so it sound's really weird... maybed you disabled some critical services. On my device, with kitkat 4.4.2, ART compiler, everything is more than stable. You could try a factory reset or switching from Dalvik to ART too...
Sounds like a gigantic hassle. I don't think these services use much battery at all.

Before saying that, try and let me know
(as soon I will use it in a regoular way - I.e. not gaming and not browsing all the time - I'll post a screenshot proving the 9 hours of screen time, that I wasn't able to reach with Google services enabled)
Ive had 9 hours screen time with google services enabled but that was just doing light stuff ,got 2.5 days out of my last battery charge but that was with only 5 hours screen time but mine is rooted and greenified now.
Cant think of a solution to your problem sorry, guess you will just have to avoid rebooting.
yes, I guess so...
I need to reinstall Google play services on my moto g how do I do this?

Hello all,
I updated my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 Google Play Services to 6.1.07 and encounter many force closes and crashes from it and location service, after searching a lot i found out that disabling xposed module called "Disable Location Consent" will solve the problem.(of course if you have installed it :silly: )
just want to share my finding with community, if you have other solutions and ideas about thread title, please tell me.
Had the exact same problem and fixed it similarly. That module prob needs an update. Thanks for sharing!

Not working for me, unfortunately
Hi everyone!
In this thread you find a small guide for get more free RAM on your device (about 40-50mb: screenshot).
First of all you need root permissions.
Second install DisableService. Now open it and select Google Play Services, so uncheck:
AdRequestBrokerService
AnalyticsIntentService
AnalyticsService
BrokeredFitnessService
CastService
CoreAnalyticsIntentService
DeviceConnectionServiceBroker
DispatchingService
GcmService
GeocodeService
GeofenceProviderService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
LocationWearableListenerService
NlpLocationRecieverService
WatchdogService
WearableControlService
WearableService
You'll get a lot of free RAM but I don't know what work and what doesn't work now.

I suppose that was the process checking for new firmware updates
you might add this to the OP.
It doesn't matter much now.
we aren't going to get any official updates now
Another thing , the NlpLocation service is the notorious google play process.
It wakes up the device at regular intervals.
Disabling it might actually save a bit of battery
.
Disabling the NlpLocation service won't cause any problems unless you use apps which depend on your location like Google Maps weather reporting apps etc.
Press thanks if I helped .
what about eventlogservice and ConfigFetchService in google play services?
A better solution: DELETE Google play services

Recently, I've rooted my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) and also installed Modded Google Play Store from the same Developers who made Lucky Patcher. I installed the latest one last week and only realized a problem today.
When going into an Game that requires Google Play Games/Google Play Services, the option to log in does NOT appear. When I try to log in myself (That is pressing the Log In button within the apl of the game) the option also does not appear. Modded Google Play Store works perfectly, but when I open Google Play Games, nothing but a white screen appears. Note I also have Freedom installed in my phone.
Can anyone please give me an insight or a solution to this problem? Unrooting my phone would be, of course, a last resort for me, along with uninstalling lucky patcher. I have seen posts saying to delete the Hosts file, but that didn't do anything. Any help would really make my day. Thanks.

Hi and thank you for using XDA Assist
Unfortunally this is a problem regarding the modded GApps but i suggest you to flash the original ones from here in order to see if it's not even a phone/ROM problem and for futher questions you can also ask here to the general forum: Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Good luck!
I've been looking at Chinese smartphones for a while but haven't yet taken the plunge. However, a colleague of mine asked me for my opinion and I nudged him in the direction of the X2, as it would have been what I would have gone for had I gone for one...
He went for it and I am impressed. But I didn't realise (probably niaively) that it would be so dislodged from Google. Obviously not completely detached, but there is no Play Store, G+, Play Services etc as you will all know. I've been on XDA for many years and I'm somewhat of an HTC fanbuy (see my sig :laugh so I know all about unlocking bootloaders, rooting, flashing custom recoveries, firmware, custom roms etc so I am absolutely fine doing all that. He has brought the phone back to me and asked if I can help him with it; basically give him a more "westernised" Android experience I suppose
So once unlocked, rooted and flashed the (apparently) only custom rom available (KangVIP), am I able to flash a gapps package to it? And if anyone has done so, would you please be able to point me to the right one to use? He tried adding google apps from the built-in appstore but they don't play nicely (I wouldn't expect them to), presumably because the framework isn't there
Coming from a long list of mainstream devices, it's amazing to me to see a subforum with only one of two threads I understand the lack of support isn't due to unwillingness though; just a lack of owners and developers. I've been on XDA so long because of how helpful everyone is and I try to help others where I can from my experiences and techy logic
I would be extremely grateful for a little bit of advice if someone wouldn't mind :good:
Thank you all
PS - The device is the 16GB 703L and is currently running the B106 update (EMUI 3.1)

When you install the play store from the Chinese App Store it installs the Google Framework. The only two things you need to install are the Play Store and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter. You can download the GoogleContactsSyncAdapter here:

Thanks for this. I did read this in another thread actually but I was reading so much that it got lost in my brain somewhere
So at the moment play store is installed (I don't have the X2 with me at the moment). Play store won't load because of not being able to authenticate with Google servers. Also G+ doesn't work for the same reason and obviously sync doesn't work. So am I right in thinking that one sync adapter will solve all of that? If so I'll sort it tomorrow for him :good:
Thanks again

I didn't have to do anything on my new X2 other than install the play store and GoogleContactsSyncAdapter. Go into settings---Manage Apps and clear data for the play store and see if it opens. Mine opened no problem and I was able to sign into my Google account from there. When I opened maps it asked me to update Google play services and when I did the play store would no longer open. So I installed the Google play services update, rebooted and everything worked fine after that.

Excellent... Thanks a lot! I forwarded the link to him and told him to download and install it and he reports everything is working. To say he is grateful is an understatement. I was bombarded with messages at 2am saying how amazing it is
Just need to help him get rid of all of the Chinese bits now. Changing default apps and keyboard, launcher etc. He's not really interested in rooting which is a shame because of all the system apps I'd like to clear out for him but if he's happy I'll let it go. No good for my OCD though. I like a clean ROM myself

Swiftkey is standard for me so that's a definite recommendation. And yes something along the lines of Apex or Nova will improve it 1000%. At least then he can have an app drawer and either hide the stock Huawei apps or put them into a folder, never to be opened again
Messaging-wise he's already using WhatsApp but I'll mention Textra anyway
