[Q] Drivers - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Alright, I have installed many...many ROM's and I've happened to had a clusterf*** of drivers get installed over and over and I've checked with USBDeview and I have the same crap about 50 times, maybe not exactly the same but if you think about it it's technically the same driver just for another ROM that I most likely will never use again. My question is, should I remove them all and just install the ones I need?

Unequivocally: YES!
If you're running Windows, it's finicky enough with drivers already! Having a clusterf** of drivers installed sooner or later will cause you headache.
If I retire a device I uninstall the drivers and all related software...

Do we need PDANET installed after root?

Never installed this with my HD2. However I did when rooting G2x. So now I have PDANet starting each time I restart my laptop and I see its in my phone as well. Is this program needed for anything now?
Any usefulness to it or dump it?
Thanks

[Q] Do I need to use the USB Drivers for Heimdall?

I was looking through the instructions here to flash using Odin, and I installed the drivers for x64 systems there. I remember a thread a while back though saying that you did NOT want to install these drivers if you're going to use Heimdall, so now I'm worried I won't be able to one-click flash my phone to root like I planned on doing today. Link to one-click. Will I be fine, or do I have to uninstall these drivers somehow?
Edit: THIS AMAZING PACKAGE INSTALLS THE DRIVERS FOR YOU?! Delete this thread, please

[Q] Rooting issue

Hello XDA,
I recently got a OnePlus One and today i started using it. Generally i root my phone 6 months after i get it but i wanted to transfer all my data from my old to the new phone. I am using titanium back on my old phone(gs3). Thus i wanted to root my new phone(1+1) however i am having driver problems. I installed the adb drivers but it's still not working. I am using the toolbox from the official xda dev rooting video. i tried everything from reinstalling the drivers to going into fastboot mode. It hasnt worked at all. Please help. And yes i did turn on dev settings on my phone.
Thanks.
First piece of advice: ditch the toolkit, you really don't need it. Where did you get the drivers?

For me, drivers installed best when in fastboot. Couldn't get them to install when connecting as mtp.

[Q] Old tablet needs android update-Please HELP.

Im having an old Yarvik TAB220 tablet bought 2 years ago. It was forgotten for long and now that i opened it its still on android 2.3.4.
I dont know if it can be updated further but i believe it can as Yarvik has provided upgrade tools.
Here are the problems that wont let me update it:
Cant install drivers when connecting to pc. I've downloaded and tried to install them manually, still windows 7 wont recognize them.
Without being able to be detected by computer, i cant use the YarvikUpgradeTool.
I tried to root it, it said it was already rooted?
All i want is to update it to at least android 4 and root it so i can have google market and all the other apps.
Is there a way to have android updated without using the computer? It has not update option on system information. I know the thread is missing some info about the tablet so please ask me whatever extra is needed.

As i see it there is no real rom support. I did have experience with yarvik tablets. mine came loaded with 4.1.2 but it broke.
i recommend you to invest in a new tablet. I havent tried this yet but. try installing the drivers manualy. as i cant load it up and update it and install the drivers. Try installing it with other computers(like a friend or youre parents).
soz i am from Netherlands as my english isnt great

I'd like to update these 3 before i give it to them. Thanks!

I used root genius on Windows and it worked very easily... Hoping for custom recovery but I'm only intermediate with these things so I'm not sure where to go from here.
I bought one of these from best buy and would be very interested in all info available on rooting, custom recovery, and compatible roms for this device. I registered just for this thread. lol.

I rooted with the root genius for windows. Super easy took about 20 mins. Make sure you use the download from shuame.com though. Follow the directions
review?
Since you guys are using tablet.. What's your thoughts of it so far?
I'm sure someone on her knows of a rom to use.
That site is in what appears to be chinese, even translated its...hard to tell what is going on. No worries the thing doesnt even get here till the 11th of Dec.
Ummm what?
the site he listed, its in chinese
but regardless many reviews on bestbuy are saying it comes rooted anyway.

Sorry try this instead

So did anyone get a custom rom working yet?
So far I like the quality of the tablet. I also brought three tablets one being the Digiland for myself and it is a very nice tablet. I just rooted mines as well through Root Genius. It's already on 4.4 so going from kitkat to lollipop isn't a huge deal to me. I'm using Buzz Menu as my home launcher and I Really like it! One of the biggest things I look to find in a rom for this device is multi-window.
Windows XP drivers help
I'm really liking this tablet as well.
I've been trying to root it with Root Genius as well, but unfortunately I've come across a road block.
I'm using a windows xp computer and I can't seem to find any driver for the tablet when you insert it in dev mode into the PC.
It asks for "MT65xx android" drivers and despite hours of searching on the net yesterday, all the drivers I have found online get rejected during the install driver process. I point the driver install to the right folder with the unzipped XP drivers, then it just fails and states it hasn't found matching drivers in there... I tried and found like 10+ websites with no luck.
Has anyone rooted it through a Windows XP computer? If someone could help me find the right matching drivers, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, I'm happy to hear people like this tablet, since I'm giving them as gifts.
"MT65xx Android Phone" driver
It turns out that most of the drivers I was trying must have been "MT65xx Preloader" drivers (the driver that is required when connecting the tablet when it is turned off).
Could anyone who has successfully rooted theirs point me towards a valid "MT65xx Android Phone" driver for Windows XP? That seems to be the name of the driver required when the device is turned on and with usb debugging turned on (the state required for Root Genius to work). Google hasn't returned a valid one for me yet since most sites tend to get the "preloader" and "android phone" drivers mixed up or poorly labeled, it seems that all the ones I found fall in the earlier category.
Rooted
ok so I have the thing rooted with root genius. Still looking for a rom, I have also noticed that this device seems to have a 2Gb partition and then the rest of the 16Gb in another partition. Is there a way to repartition this? Im a PC tech but very new to android. This site has been very informative so far.
I have rooted and downloaded the Original ROM for the DigiLand 10.1 running 4.4.2. I am currently attempting to load Lollipop on the system.
Can you please post the link to the original ROM, I have thus far been unable to find it.
Thanks
My first one did the wireless update after Rooting with root genius and bricked. Probably just bad download. Got replacement and updated and rooted, but having to use kinguser because of the issues supersu has with access to root from SD. Flawed for some mtk devices I have found. Lucky patcher and titanium backup won't work properly with supersu. Does anyone know if superuser has the same problem?
