[Q] SCH-i705 looking to restore to stock(for starters) - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, gang. I have a friend in a different state who has a Verizon Galaxy Tab 2, it is a SCH-i705, and the firmware is 1705VRBMI1. He doesn't have mobile service on it, but would be interested in using it over WiFi for stuff, He did a factory reset a while back(without its being on Verizon's network), and has been experienceing some problems with WiFi connectivity and some apps.
I am hoping to help him restore his Tab to stock. I have already flashed several of mines and my friends' devices, but I haven't worked on anything this old before. I have tried to find a suitable thread, but every one I've seen seems to contain outdated or disputed information.
What I'd like to know is:
- Can I sideload the stock 1705VRBMI1 firmware using Odin, and if so, where can I find it?
-Is 1705VRBMI1 the latest official firmware for this device?
-Will his not being connected to a mobile network prevent us from restoring his device to stock?
-Is there working root/recovery etc. for this firmware? Where?
If I am missing a very obvious thread about this somewhere please feel free to mock me mercilessly. And thanks in advance.

[Q] 3g issues after upgrading gt-i5500

Hi everyone
Here in Argentina, after upgrading the phone to froyo, with official and mod firmwares (motafoca), a lot of people experience the lost of 3g network, the phone only works on edge. we already checked the apn, did the herware reset, vn rebuild and all the obvious solutions.
Im thinking the problem is the "amss" file in the new firmware which is the qualcom modem configuration.
Someone know if its possible to backup it or maybe delete from the firmware before update it with odin (having a working 3g phone)? Thanks
Javo

[Completed] Basic questions about installing a ROM on a Note 3

First, I have installed a ROM on my phone before and I followed very specific instructions. I am a developer in the land of microsoft so I recognize I am very much a newbie here.
Now, on to what I have now and what I want to do.
1. I have a Note 3. The SM-N9005. The baseband version is: N900W8.... suffice to say it is a canadian phone. If the rest of the baseband numbers are important I will post them, just ask.
2. I want to install the Alliance ROM, it seems to have what I am looking for.
3. When I rooted and ROMed my phone years ago I used the following thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2614772
4. Currently my phone is running a Jedi ROM from the vintage of that thread. However I must have made a mistake back then because the Hotspot feature does not work. Making the hotspot feature work again is my primary reason for undertaking this operation. The 4G works, I can use the Internet on the phone just fine. The wireless works I can connect to a wireless signal and use the internet that way (with mobile data off). The hotspot will allow a connection, but no data passes between the 4G (with Mobile Data On) connection and the connected computer. I have tried this with multiple computers to confirm its not the computers fault.
Back when I did this before I had to be careful to get the right CSC file and modem file and a few other steps.
With that background, my questions are below (if you need any more info to point me in the right direction, just ask):
Do I need to worry about CSC files, modem files and so on to Flash to Alliance ROM and still have everything work? I ran across a thread that said that some ROMs have all the CSC files in them, but I cannot find any direct information (or I missed it) about the Alliance ROM with regards to CSC files and the like.
I have TWRP installed on the phone and was planning to use that.. that install of TWRP is over 2 years old is there an update to TWRP that I should do or would it still work since it worked last time?
Last, but not least, the instructions say that if I am not installing from stock 4.4.2 or stock 5.0 that I should install stock first, then install the alliance rom. I visited the sammobile website and there are no ROMs for the USA or Canada there... am I missing something or should I just use the UK ROM from that website?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide me on this endeavour.

[Completed] No signal after flashing rom

Hello.
This is not an urgent issue sincee i have set up voip alternatives, but id' like to see it resolved anyway for curiosity and convenience/payment reasons. So here's the deal. i'm on a rooted g3, with cloudyfa's lollipop rom and the latest version of twrp. the device was ATT unlocked, and I intended to use it later with a tracfone sim card on the byop program. anyway, after flashing the rom i didn't get any signal bars at all anymore. i tried reflashing the kitkat [At that time i downgraded to 4.4.4again and lost signal], lollipop broadbands for my device, the latter even also being released by cloudyfa. i tried goping into the network settings and, since apn's are out of my range, just searched for service providers. i tried everything and still nothing. yet when i downloaded an app to manage my voip, it said my signal was great. what is this? Can my phone still be saved?

I'm going to assume you didn't flash the patches to resolve all the current root issues.
Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
You could also try the Echoe Rom once you're rooted which is very stable from my testing.
Hi... I'm wondering the same thing. I have been researching this whole "rooting the s7" process and doing countless Google searches sometimes til 3-4 am and I can't find any new or reveled info to my issue. If I'm in the wrong section please point me to the right one. This is the only thread that comes close to my situation. I have successfully rooted my s7 but have no data/mms. I have followed a few guides with no luck getting root and data to work. I'm using a sprint s7 sm-g 930 that is flashed to work with boost mobile. My problem I believe is with the apn settings. If I'm on stock, I can't view my an settings as the are grayed out. When I root, I can view the apn settings but when I modify them and save they don't show up on the list of apns. All the info ive found only talks about the sprint or credo apn settings but nothing for boost mobile settings. Please let me know if you need any other info from me to successfully root this phone and have data working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RefurbishedV10 fingerprint/security issues after upgrading from lollipop to MM

I've seen many threads about this issue originating because the apparent H900 model for some people turned out to be a different model somehow converted to look like this, and everyone had the exact same issues as me, namely
1. LG VPN has stopped working error
2. Fingerprint/security tab causes settings to crash
3. Attempting to uninstall apps causes instant soft reboot
Some folks mentioned fixing their phones by finding the actual model of their phone and flashing the correct firmware. But AFAIK, no flashing software allows flashing of a different model. And none of them was clear about the actual steps they did to fix it.
Since I'm on Marshmallow, I cannot root, and I cannot rollback to the firmware I had in my phone.
Can anyone please share how they fixed their phone or someone expert in the matter?
Warranty/Motherboard replacement are out of question for me.
Any help is appreciated.
Same here please somebody help.
Same, did you find a solution? :/

you can't get ota att outside USA becasue you need to be connected in ATT bridge or IDK but you can't the only way you can by KDZ or TOT FILES
Finally Found 1000% fix for all this type of issues. Security Menu to App Uninstall all-everything OK. Just need to flash an special modified firmware based on VS990 Hardware. The current Firmware version is Android 6.0.
NB: This is not for free and not for individual one. $150 will cost this type of firmware. So, this solution is for Service Personnel or Professional's only. Contact me for details on Skype or Gmail (rassel2k). Goodluck.
Too bad the price of the phone itself, 2nd hand (H900,H901,VS990,F600), is around $100 here.
