no one can help me?
Maybe this can help you to go back to hboot 2.15.
For CM follow the instructions in the first post of this thread.
The latest snapshot can be found here. GAPPS can be found e.g. here or here.
I'm a bit confused.
Currently on Hboot 2.16 , S-Off, TWRP 2.8.0.1 and maxumiusHD.
Can I install official CM 10.2?

CM 10.2 doesn't support hboot 2.16. BTW using the search function doesn't hurt.

Yeah, I understood that. All you got to do is following the instructions in the first link I posted in my first answer. ?
in an italian forum i have see that i can flash the hboot for downgrade, without installing the RUU.. here the link if you understand something http://www.androidiani.com/forum/ht.../354323-guida-s4-upgrade-downgrade-hboot.html
so what i have to do?

Well, I've always been using a RUU if I wanted to downgrade so I don't know which way is the best. All I can say is that I never had any problems with downgrading by using RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1.06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe and the CID HTC__102. Maybe it's not the fastest way (you need to upgrade by official OTA's afterwards to get hboot 2.15) but it works.
I have to change the cid for return to 2.15?

If you use RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1 .06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe for downgrading then yes. Otherwise you'll brick your phone by installing the official OTA's while you are on CID 11111111.
So first installing the RUU then return to my cid? And then i can install cm?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
1. Return to your CID (in my case HTC__102)
2. Use the corresponding RUU (in my case RUU_Ville_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.31.401.5_Radio_1 .06es.50.02.31_10.09a.50.04L_release_275655_signed.exe; your Phone has to be in fastboot USB mode; maybe you have to relock your bootloader)
3. Install official OTA's to get from ICS to JB with hboot 2.15 (with CID 11111111 this step will brick your phone)
4. Unlock bootloader if needed
5. Return to Super CID if you want (actually not needed since you only need it for facepalm s-off as far as I know)
6. Flash TWRP/CWM (I prefer TWRP)
7. Flash latest CM snapshot
8. Flash GAPPS
9. Enjoy
It's not the fastest way but I never had problems as the 3G loss that is mentioned in some threads. More or less these are the same steps that are mentioned in the link I posted in my first answer.
And If i install the jb ruu?
Sent from my HTC One S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've never used any other RUU than the one I mentioned above. So I don't know whether a JB RUU can brick your phone while you are on Super CID. Nevertheless the steps you need to do are the same with a JB RUU except that you can leave out the installation of the original OTA's.

I've been running AOSP ROM's on my evita for a while now, but apparently with the 3.4 kernel you now need hboot 2.14 or higher and mine's at 1.09. My phone was unlocked with S-ON, but I did "fastboot oem lock" this morning because I read that it's necessary for an RUU. I downloaded the 2.20 RUU and tried to run the installer but I always get an Error [170] USB Connection Error. I have the HTC and adb drivers installed successfully and have tried to run the RUU as admin in both Sense and fastboot (bootloader). I'm a bit stumped and would really like to get AOSP back on my phone.
You need to S-off first.

Should I use facepalm for that then?
EDIT
I got s-off, but still no go. Still the error 170.
I know on my old Incredible I was able to rename the rom.zip from the RUU as PB99IMG.zip and put it on the root of my sdcard. Then in hboot it would detect it and ask to flash it. This isn't happening on my evita though. Is there a way to do that, or is that only for older htc devices?
Put phone into fastboot and try again. Check error log to see if it fails to identify your phone.
Open command prompt and type adb devices, if it does not see it then try installing new drivers. If it does see it then enter " adb shell reboot oem-78" that will reboot your phone in to RUU ready fastboot. Open ruu and try running it again.

Where can I find this error log? It did see my device, I did that command (which ended at the black htc screen) and I ran the RUU again but I still get the error 170. I'm also using this RUU http://bugsylawson.com/index.php/fi...320911-2-101053225l-release-271865-signedexe/

EDIT
Okay, I think I found out what I've been doing wrong. I found this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119610 and it turns out that the file I've been trying does NOT include the 2.14 hboot that I need. The one I need is the latest JB release, but someone said that if you flash it with superCID and S-ON that it will brick your device. I have superCID but S-OFF, does anyone think that will brick my device? Should I flash the RUU with the 1.09 hboot (which I'm running) first, and then flash the newest RUU? Also, it looks like the link I provided offers flashable OTA's of each update. Would those work/be recommended for TWRP?
Change cid to cingular "cws_001" I think. Super cid can cause brick.

Well I didn't do that...haha. I read on another forum that TWRP doesn't support that cid check function or something and to just remove it from the updater-script so I tried that and flashed the latest OTA zip in TWRP and it failed after a few steps. I tried booting and it didn't get to the boot animation so I rebooted to recovery and restored my backup. I'm going to try a stock zip without the modified updater-script and restore my CID to normal and try again.
EDIT
Well, I restored the CID to CWS__001 and I still get that check_cid error

Hm, okay then, let me ask another question. I'm on hboot 1.09 and I need 2.14 to run AOSP ROM's now. What's the best way to get there if I already have ROM's installed. Is it what I'm doing right now or should it be something else?
EDIT
The latest JB RUU is picking up my device now and offering the update, 2 seconds away from doing it....

Hi. I am looking my update my hboot from 1.09 to 2.14. I am S-OFF now, also running the Sense 5 rom now(TWRP recovery).
I have downloaded the Latest JB 3.18 RUU from instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2064621.
What else do I need to do before flashing the RUU to the device?
For what it's worth, I was on stock 2.20, got s-off and unlocked bootloader with superCID, and ran the 3.18 RUU with no problems. I didn't need to relock or anything.

I think my hboot is out of date but in order to update it I need to have s-off and Super CID enabled (or change my CID to 111111 or 00000, can't remember which). Anyways, can anyone give me some guidance on how to get the latest CM versions installed?
Yeah you have to s-off and then run the 3.18 ruu. No way around it.

My phone is from Rogers, I'm on hboot 1.11
I found a guide for fastboot oem readcid which reads:
Connect your phone with USB Debugging enabled
Open up an adb shell (if you don't know how to do this, Google it!)
Reboot into fastboot mode in the Bootloader.
Type: fastboot oem writecid 11111111
Type: adb reboot-bootloader
Type: fastboot oem readcid
If it says 11111111 then you have SuperCID
You can reboot as normal
Click to collapse
When following the steps (only typing fastboot oem readcid, not the other lines) my cid is stated as: ROGER001
I do have S-ON enabled if that matters. I know I have to disable it but I'm not sure if I have to do that before or after I rewrite my CID, against some more confusion on my part and I've read doing it wrong can brick my device.

So I followed the steps and was able to enable S-OFF and achieve CID 11111111. I tried to update the hboot following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156686
I tried installing the first version of the Hboot and when I rebooted the screen hung on the CM 10.1 boot logo. I tried to enter recovery through fastboot but a red exclamation mark screen would load. I reinstalled recovery through fastboot and then tried to do a factory reset through recovery and fastboot and my device is now stuck on the HTC logo when booting. I've tried reinstalling different versions of hboot (which I downloaded from those instructions) and nothing happens. Please advise, as of now my phone won't boot.
Edit:
I think what caused this problem was flashing this file: /ALL FILES FROM OTA 3.17 T-MO germain hboot 2.14 (incl recovery and other firmware files, be careful with that).
I'm pretty sure I did the firmware and recovery files as it took 60s to flash and I remember seeing a lot of RADIO files being written. My cell phone is a Rogers cell phone is there a stock version I can re-flash to make it work?
Edit II:
I was able to mount my phone via recovery and install cm 10.1. However, the phone isn't responding to any touch.
Which version of CM10.1 did you install? It sounds like it's an older one because they're not compatible with the newer touchscreen firmware. Download the latest nightly and flash that and you should be ok.

Okay I finally got her working. I followed instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2159863 to re-install the touch panel firmware, installed the corrected hboot update and upgraded to the latest cm 10.1. Cheers to everyone who contributed and helped me out!
For anyone who may find this thread in the future, the best thing to do would have been run an older RUU because there is no 3.17 RUU i believe and then either install the ota through stock recovery or Download the OTA through android (check for updates)

If you aren't on the supported firmware it won't work. So, if that doesn't work for you then I would just leave it S-on. It isn't hard to fastboot flash a boot.img before flashing a rom in recovery.

I just noticed this thread.
I also have a similar problem. I cannot achieve s-off with my (S4) htc one s , running the exact same hboot as op.
To upgrade to jb 4.2.2 sense 5 which we should be getting for which we now won't despite them making the update.
Will we be able to upgrade to this new patch with s-on using the flash boot?

Maximus HD --- No you need S-off for this. The firmware updates your Hboot, Radio, and you flash a different recovery and finally Rom
You might check out other Rom's that have Sense 5 4.2.2 features. They do not require S-off like Maximus does.
Hi thanks for your reply.
Do you know of any such roms that don't require the s-off?
I installed odyssey, its got no google playstore..suddenly my computer no longer recognizes my sd card / phone.
I tried adb push, managed to get a stock orang001 tmobile uk package to the root folder, but when i turn off the mount, it says its bad..which is a little odd.
Seems thought I got odyssey installed / flashed etc, its so bare as its practically useless to me unless i have google, plus its got weird glitches on boot up, taking forever, always booting into the developers screen etc.

With Odyssey you have to flash slim gapps after you install the rom.
Your Sd card (partition) may be corrupted, the way to fix that is to put the stock recovery back on your phone then go to bootloader and "clear storage"
All of the other Roms don't require S-off, MagioRom is being actively developed with the sense 5 and 4.2.2.

I'm a little scared since I read they have a lot of problems while installing this ROM.

I tried Maximus with CWM, did i using sideload and them flash the boot.img file. but it was a disaster as my device didn't connect to wifi and had some call drops then I tried flashing twrp and then sideloaded magicrom 4.0 and flas boot.img, it looks lot better now but only issue right now is my phone keeps on rebooting and am still waiting for a stable rom to be released.
I read MagioRom comments and they say with that ROM phone reboots a lot. So I think the only way is with MaximusHD. The WiFi problem I think it can be fixed. I don't know about the call drops, but many have this ROM as daily use so I guess it's ok. I will try S-off with moonshine method, then try install Maximus. Hope my phone survives.

you have to flash the boot.img of a rom if you are s-on
must also be rooted.
1. plug phone into pc
2. mount sdcard in twrp
3. copy rom to your computer
4. extract boot.img
5. reboot to bootloader (also done in twrp)
6. highlight "fastboot" and press power and the phone should say "Fastboot USB"
7. open a command promt (type cmd into search box on windows7) and cd to your adb/fastboot folder
8. type
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
9. reboot to recovery and install your rom
10. reboot system when done
if you arent rooted, use the toolkit in the development area and root.
What ROM are you trying to install? If it's any recent aosp your current hboot version is the problem. All current aosp ROMs require the 2.14 hboot which you can get by running the 3.18 RUU. S-off is highly recommended, if you run a jb RUU with SuperCID and s-on your phone will brick.

I am trying to get cm10.2. so should my first step right now be getting the 3.18 RUU or getting s-off?
Ok, first, please read the instructions of any ROM you're going to flash, it's stated very clearly in the cm10.2 thread that an update is needed before flashing the ROM. One of the most important rules of XDA is to search before posting, proper searching limits the amount of unnecessary threads.
Get s-off first, if you don't already have SuperCID you will need that in order to get s-off. Use the hex edit method to get SuperCID, then you can get s-off in the Facepalm S-off thread. Your best bet to go through this process is to temporarily flash a Sense ROM, any Sense 4 Android 4.1 ROM should be fine. Once all that's done you can run the 3.18 RUU, then flash TWRP recovery again and flash CM.

thanks timmaaa!!! I need to head out right now but will try it asap! I apologize for not searching before asking but my phone was stuck on ICS and I thought it would be hopeless to install a custom rom.
got super cid and soff!
ok i got both super cid and soff. so my next step is to flash a sense 4.1 rom correct? any suggestions?
edit: i downloaded RageXL so do i just flash in twrp?
No you don't need to do that, I meant you should try a 4.1 ROM in order to get s-off. If you have SuperCID and s-off now you can go ahead and run the RUU.

Not sure how you got that notion. Its actually a bit easier to mod older firmware versions, due to the fact that HTC keeps plugging the various exploits with successive (newer) firmware builds.
There is currently no firmware version for this device that would leave you "stuck" not being able to flash custom ROMs.
Hi guys,
so happy to be a part of this community!
My HTC One S is unlocked, rooted and S-ON:
CID: T-MOB102
HBOOT: 2.15
I'm currently using MaximusHD 10.0 (though I couldn't make the firmware upgrade because I'm not S-OFF).
I'm creating this thread because none of the currently opened ones covers my case. I wanted to S-OFF earlier and tried Facepalm but could not get superCID (as far as I know this is because of the write protection), so this method didn't work for me. Moonshine I think will not work also, because I'm not using a stock ROM. ( From the Moonshine instructions: 8. Use the matching Stock RUU, some stock based ROMs may work, but we cannot test them all.)
Before flashing MaximusHD 10.0 I've made a backup of my original 4.1.1 ROM that came with the device with the custom recovery (TWRP 2.4.3.0 as far as I can remember). Unfortunately when I try restoring from backup my device is in a bootloop.
Can you please advise how to obtain S-OFF so that I can enjoy the MaximusHD?
Please accept my apologies if this is not the right place for this thread.
Did you try this?

No, unfortunately I could not find stock RUU for TMOBA devices
If you need stock ruu go to www.htc.com and select your device and download the file for this file to work you need your bootloader to be lock stock or relocked. and just run the ruu and it shold work..
so you dont have any problems enter fastboot and make sure it says fastboot usb and than run ruu and it should put your phone to stock. I just did this with my phone.
Are you refering to the downloads at htcdev because I couldn't find anything else?
