Hey guys... just picked up a demo version (Red) of the HTC One M8... Got it rooted, S-Off, Running Viper Rom...
Problem is, the battery seems to be stuck at 1% .. Charged for a few hours, no improvement. Biggest issue is though that the phone DOES function, for about 45 seconds at a time then powers down... reboots, and repeats (It has been doing this for well over an hour)...
Anyone have any recommendations on how to kick this thing out of a 1% charge on the battery and attempt to make it reflect ACTUAL charge?

Sounds to me like your firmware isn't correct. Flash the latest for your carrier and see if it improves.

Actually, flashed a different ROM... Im sort of thinking the sideload got corrupted (maybe?)
Anyway, CleanROM seems to be functioning without any bumps... going to reflash firmware, reflash venom then reflash kernel (after redownloading all)...

Flashed Viper again, phone worked perfectly through the night... started rebooting constantly again this morning (ViperRom 2.4, Lunar Kernel... phone boots, hangs on lock screen, reboots...)
Dirty flashing Viper Rom again now... if that doesnt resolve the issue, will move to CleanRom and test...

that seems to have fixed it.
what would cause it to keep getting corrupted? I format it between installs..

yknow, i will probably get called out on this by someone, but for me, it seems to have something to do with writing a backup from twrp to my SD. everytime i do, my phone just bootloops until i dump it. curious, are you running a 64gb sandisk by any chance?

128gb SD Sandisk
...so, theres that
Formatted it from the phone, then dumped all my stuff on it while it was in my laptop (not transferring through USB)...it SEEMS to be fine now.
Mind if I ask, what Rom are you running? (I noticed that the rom was VERY stable until i flashed the Lunar Kernel that allowed me to see the SD card from the phone... normally, I cant with Viper 2.4 and having the 128gb SD card...
Also, do you happen to know if the GPE rom works on verizon phones?

So, i am running stock 4.4.3 with my own debloat. And yes GPE rom by @digitalhigh is killer for this device. You may want to contact sandisk about possibly having a defective device, as i did with my 64gb, i sent it in for them to test and it was found to be defective. They sent me a new one and its been working good so far

Hello everyone. It seems like the issue is getting worst and I think I've narrowed down the problem... Now I just need a solution and we can all be happy
So sometimes my phone decides to restart itself and it will not boot back up. The only solution is to remove the battery and try again. It could be solve after a couple tries in the past, and now I find myself sitting for half an hour + trying to get this phone running again. I do have clockwork installed, and it seems like my issue is with my SD card. When trying to mount/unmount my SD card via clockwork, there is an error doing do. Sometimes I can't access my pictures because of the same problem. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to remedy this situation?
Thanks!

are you using a custom rom or kernel?
I used to, but now it is just stock rom rooted
Edit: I lied, seems like when I restored, the kernal stayed the same.... I assume I can just flash a stock kernal over my modded one?

have you tried redownloading the rom and reflashing it?
Note the edit above. Just checked my settings and it looks like I still have my old kernal..( non stock) I dont seem to be able to find a stock kernal anywhere... Do you happen to know where I can find one?
theres probably a version of the stock rom floating around with the stock kernel already included. check the developement threads.
Stock rom, check stickies in General section.

I reverted everything back to stock with the exception of the bootloader still being unlocked. I thought the issue was fixed, and I have not had issues with the phone since. Until today when I decided to restart it. Same issues as before not being able to mount the sd card, which seems to be required to boot. Any ideas? Is the sd card in the nexus s actually there? Maybe it came loose?
Hi guys,
I know there's been lots of cases such as this but I am frustrated and don't know what to do. Been searching for answers but couldn't find an exact answer pertaining to my problem.
I recently flashed Coredroid to my Inspire 4g and for some reason, every time the screen times out, my phone hot-restart's by itself.
Anyone know what's going on?

what did you have on there previously? did you full wipe? data/cache/dalvik? are you overclocking or undervolting?which version of coredroid? and what did you use to flash the rom?

I had LeeDroid V5.1.1.
I did full wipe/data/cache/dalvik. Not overclocking or undervolting. (Don't like to mess with them)
I'm currently using Coredroid v9.4
Used ClockworkMod for flashing.
anything installed aftermarket? like battery mods or boot screens or stuff from the kitchen?
possibly a corrupt install or download, but wanna get as much info before guessing starts

Nope. Everything is CoreDroid stock. Can I safe to assume that it's the Rom itself?

I recently just switched roms to Android Revolution and it works just fine. I redownloaded and reflashed CoreDroid and it's still doing the same thing. Could it be that there's something wrong with the Rom itself or the tweaks?
What radio are you using? Haven't really heard of radios causing crashes like this but it is possible.
Did you format your SD card too? Files from a previous OS on a SD card can cause this issue.
You mentioned that the ROM is all stock. Did you use any apps to restore apps and files?

Radio: 12.56.405.1.
Kernel 2.6.35.14
Yeah, I started making assumptions that it's probably either the radio or kernel but it just doesn't make sense. Everything works perfectly with Android Revolution.
No, I did not format my SD card. Is that recommended for every time I flash a new Rom? (sorry if I'm a bit inexperienced at these things)
Update:
Backed up my SD and reformated it. Still does it.
Rom is in every way, stock. The only app I used to restore my apps is the market, which is not 'google play' or w/e.

It is not needed to format SD card but it is to format System and data before a new rom flash. Mainy when one is build from an DHD port and the other is an Inspire based rom.
I've flashed my phone about 50 times by now...
but there was this cm9 audio issue, i flashed arhd today and it still has the same issue
it would stutter for a second or keep on pressing next on the song
maybe its the reason why my powerbutton stoped working... i pressed it really hard in the morning today and it started working, but then 10minute later it stoped...
so is this because of flashing?
Flashing is no more dangerous than copying music to an SD card. There shouldn't be any roms on here that would damage your phone.
my phone been starting to skip songs when being played.. i flashed another rom (arhd) and it happens to it now too...

Might be a problem with your SD card, it might be a good idea to make a full back backup of your SD card and then do a full reformat of your SD card. I also recommend you do a low level format first, then reformat with Fat 32 as this will give you a very thorough cleaning of your SD card.
will try right now!, does anyone know about the power button issue? I know it still works, because it was working this morning..

That's weird.
Are you s-off or s-on?
Have you tried multiple ROMS? (Bruce'ss CM10, AOKP, that new minimalist CM10?)
If you've just tried one, start by redownloading the ROM. You will get the instalation aborted error if the ROM.zip is bad.
Also, did you do a full wipe (Not superwipe) from 4EXT? You will need to if going from ICS to JB. But that shouldn't prevent the ROM from installing (it just won't work properly).
//nvm
S-OFF, FUL wipe coming from ISC re-downloaded rom like 6 times and iv'e tried them all they wont install yet ICS rom's will

I HATE problems like this because they make absolutely no sense. They are the ones that make you want to lay your phone down on the sidewalk and bash it repeatedly with a cinder block. So I understand your pain!
The worst part is that they almost always have the simpliest sollutions imaginable.
Are you using 4EXT or CWM?
Has a JB rom ever worked on your phone?
Can you install a fresh ICS ROM from scratch (meaning not just restore a nandroid) just to make sure recovery is working properly?
No matter if ICS installed fresh or not, you might try reflashing recovery. Maybe that's what's borked up somehow. Plus it' sone of those thigns that can't make it worse so why not try it?

That's a thing!
It's stupid, but it's a thing. Formatting the SD card has been known to solve a variety of ROM problems, app problems, and help with male pattern baldness. It's the goofiest thing, but it works randomly.
Glad you're fixed up.

Well, I am trying to get a 64GB SanDisk Ultra Mobile card to work, when I put it in my laptop with the adapter it sees it, I can format it and even copy files to and from it. However once I put it in my phone, it get's corrupted or as the phone calls it, damaged. The phone does read the 16GB card I still have from my OG Droid but I want to use the 64GB card, anyone have any clue what's going on here?

Now you're talking, cm10 is very tricky and depended on how and what's on your phone during the install. Either reflash back to stock or reflash cm10 definitly will resolved your issue.

Ok, so still having problems. Even formatted on PC or through a TW ROM it won't recognize the SD Card in TWRP, CWM or any CM ROMs. TW ROMs will recognize it and format it and use it. Not sure what the issue is, the weirdest part is TWRP and CWM not seeing it but having TW ROMs work fine with it. Oh well, will keep at it.
external sd cards
I was wondering why these custom roms and external sd cards don't seem to get along well, though I haven't tested smaller sd cards, because all I have right now is a sandisk 64gb, but is it across the board for all sd cards for all roms, or just high capacity cards, I have a gs3 verizon and have tried the superchargewiz, and the liquidsmooth jellybean, neither of them read my 64gb card, but conversely when I rolled back to my stock rooted rom I got the insufficent space error. (frustrating) so any information to help out a noob thank you
From what I remember, you need to format as FAT32 for CM roms, as they can't read exFAT. Windows either has trouble or will not format a 64 GB sdcard as FAT32 natively. Google and download SDformatter, and use it to format to FAT32.
