Hi guys, I have this problem with my M2: A week ago I looked on the web for several methods of how to unlock the bootloader. The first step of all those methods was to check on the phone if it was possible to unlock it by introducing a code on the call dialer to get into some kind of "Secret menu". The result was always the same "Unlock bootloader: No". Instead of this I have tried with two or three different methods, however any of this worked. Do you know how to unlock the bootloader in this situation?
Please tell me if I wasn't clear enough.
You can't unlock it if it says No.

Ok, I hope that somebody find a solution soon. Thanks for answering.
Wait, does it say "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" or "Bootloader unlocked: No"?
If it says "Bootloader unlocked: No" you can unlock it, if it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" you can unlock it only in Spain
Look what it says :/

Hello!
I have a question about unlocking!
If i unlock the Sim-lock on a smartphone (by a code), does this also set the bootloader settings from:
"Bootloader unlock allowed: No" => to: "Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes" ??
Thanks, regards,
Stefan
Try and see
You have nothing to lose from trying, if it works you have phone without Simlock nor bootloader lock and if it doesn't work you'd still have a Simlock-free phone. I don't even know why you haven't tried yet...
Bootloader and SIM locks have nothing to do with each other.
Thanks for the expressive one answer !?
I cannot try it, becaus the phone is not my phone, i want to buy the phone! So, if i could unlock the bootloader with a Sim-unlock,
then i buy the phone & buy the sim-unlock(code). If i could not unlock the bootloader, i am not interesting to buy this locked-phone!!
My consideration is: Buy a cheap locked-phone & unlock it by my self (+pay the unlock-code) OR buy a expensive unlocked-phone!!
... or don't pay for the damn unlock-code an hack the damn bootloader, so that i could change the "bootloader unlock allowed" to YES!
regards,
Stefan
"Bootloader and SIM locks have nothing to do with each other. "
... OK, i understand - Thanks!
If you sim unlock your phone you will be able to use any sim card, but unlocking your phone in that way does nothing to allow unsigned or non-officially signed bootloaders, recoveries, or roms to be loaded on the device in the same way that unlocking the bootloader does not sim unlock the phone.
OK, Thanks!! - this is a very important information for me!!
regards,
Stefan
How check if my bootloader is locked
Please advise
It will be locked unless you unlocked it.
However, dial *#*#7378423#*#* and goto service info, configuration.
The last line will tell you the status of the bootloader.

Have you tried doing it yet, the instructions are quite obvious if you try it.
I found mine say Bootloader unlocked allowed: yes… --does it mean that I have already an unlocked bootloader?

No, it means you are allowed to unlock it.
If it was unlocked it would say
Bootloader unlocked: yes
Please remember it is impossible to unlock the bootloader by mistake, you have to go through several steps (17 steps from the Sony instructions if I remember correctly)
So unless you have done that it will be locked, no device is shipped with an unlocked bootloader
A very patient response from someone called Lord Grumpy

Hello guys!
I'm trying to unlock bootloader of my Z3 the official way but i have a problem.
First my phone says "bootloader unlock allowed : no" and then when i try to unlock it it says "failed".
Here are pictures that will explain my problem.
Is there any way that i can unlock it?
Thank you in advance!
The bootloader unlock on your device is sadly not possible as far as I know. As long as it states "bootloader unlock allowed: no" it will always fail to unlock it.

No, if it says no, it cannot be unlocked. There is no way for it to be done. Endex
I have done the check to see if my bootloader is unlocked, which is No.
I called Sony to see if they can unlock it and was told to call my provider which said no and called Sony to verify if they did it.
Well after over an hour, my service provider said the Sony Tech Support didn't support unlocking but that there are guides online if I REALLY want to do it anyways.
After looking I couldn't find any info on unlocking a locked bootloader.
All I'm wanting to do is install a custom ROM and would love if someone could help or point me in the right direction.
First we're going to check if your bootloader is ublockable.
Open dialer, punch in *#*#7378423#*#*. In the service menu which will open, navigate to Service Info -> Configuration. In there, look for the line "Rooting status". If it says "Bootloader unlock allowed: No", nothing you can do and no point in digging further. If it says yes, take a look at this thread.
Happy unlocking!

Enter developer option
Turn on Oem Unlocking
Then unlock your Bootloader
It's not Important Yes or No
Just Do It
You can't unlock the bootloader. Sim unlock and bootloader unlock are 2 different things. If you see Bootloader unlock allowed No... That means you can't unlock it. Quite simple really.

I opened the OEM lock in the developer settings! However, it shows that the boot loader can not be unlocked:crying: And I tried to unlock it ~ but failed
If it says no then it is impossible to unlock the bootloader.
SIM unlock is different, for that you need to speak to your network provider.

this is just incorrect. If it says 'bootloader unlock allowed: No' then you cannot unlock the bootloader. Nothing can change this setting
