[Q] QHSUSB_BULK Nexus 5 brick - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys maybe you can help me!
I was flashing the bootloader of my Nexus 5, and while doing so my laptop decided it would be a great idea to reboot to install a windows update.
Now I am stuck with a dead Nexus 5, it shows as QHSUSB_BULK when connected to the pc, any ideas on how to fix this?
I think I might need to send it to LG, am i right?

Did you try rebooting to secondary bootloader?
I think it should be Volume Up + Power or Volume Up + Volume Down + Power at the same time.

Tried this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490
If I remember correctly, you have to be quick to install the driver when connecting the phone to your computer.

Please, get in your correct device section.
This issue was thoroughly discussed at another thread, and the only way users found to solve it was to deliver it to LG for a new board.
The sd format under CM7 issue, I mean.
I had this happen to me all the I apparently pressed reboot into bootloader by accident and my phone turned off and never turned back on. I was also running cyanogen mod. I tried everything but nothing worked it didn't even turn on so I just went to att and they sent me a new phone.

I will send it to lg to fix then, thanks
I dont think it is possible to brick the optimus 3d. The issue of not being able to reflash may be due to driver conflicts/combo of windows 7 etc.
Run device manager. Expand the ports and usb serial bus controllers
Take out battery of optimus 3d
hold down volume up and while holding up, insert cable.
There should be the omap 4430 popping up for a few seconds
Also during this process, the other usb drivers for the phone should be activated and displayed if they were previously installed. If not, then it should start searching for the drivers and update.
Insert battery
If there are issues with drivers updating, try another pc and install the lg drivers from scratch using windows xp.
Its not required to install the omap 4430 driver to flash a rom
You can then use the official lg recovery tool, enter your imei and it will download and install the stock rom
There are other methods on flashing using kdz files (a good tutorial is available somewhere in this forum) you would need to block the lg updater from checking however

[Q] Bricked Nexus 5 doesn't boot + no access to fastboot

Hi guys,
I have had my Nexus 5 rooted with franco kernel on it now for about 5 months. Yesterday I tried to autoflash to the new r57 of franco kernel and accidentally aborted it. My phone will now not boot or go into fastboot or recovery. The only way to get my computer to recognize it is by holding the volume up button and plugging in the usb cable. My computer recongnises it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8)". Did I kill my Nexus 5? Please help!.
P.S. please dont tell me how stupid I am, I know. :crying:

Have you tried for example these steps? http://trendblog.net/fix-soft-bricked-android-device-first-aid-guide/
Here are some good files it seems http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...l-06-03-14-one-click-factory-restore-t2513937
Most often its possible to recover an android as long as you can access the Download mode.

No, the only thing that does anything is just holding volume up while plugging it in to the computer. Screen stays black, but computer recognizes it as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM8)"
So to clarify, you cannot get into either the primary or secondary bootloader? You've tried both and literally nothing happens?

Try the LG Flashtool. That's your only hope. If it doesn't fix your issue, RMA/repairing is the only option.

Try lg flashtool first. Click link in my signature and look in section 3 for the guide. It uses vol up + USB which may work for you
RMA is 1 or 2 years depending which country it is in however it is warranty for manufacturing defects not user destruction. If you RMA it and they identify (rightfully) that you caused this issue, they will charge you for a new phone.
You would be better sending it to LG who may offer to repair for cost. You won't have fried the memory, just corrupt the partition so I wouldn't expect it to be expensive.
But try flashtool first.

He cant do anything with qpst tool without a nexus 5 specific flash programmer and a special nexus 5 bootloader.
It seems when you get "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" you have really bricked your phone (hardbrick). Someone with knowledge must program sometool to unbrick it. (example. for a HTC device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627882)
I think it's best to send it to Google.

[Q] Bricked. Can't get computer to see OPO

My friend bricked his OPO, so I am attempting to fix it for him. I have came across the numerous fixes for bricked devices, although there is one problem I cannot seem to find a solution to. My PC does not see the phone at all. When I hold Vol down+ PWR I get nothing but a vibration every 2-3 seconds. No connect noise through my computer that it at least sees the phone or it doesn't pop up on the device manager. I only have a windows 7 computer.

DUDE, I held my power button for about 15 long-seconds and the device turned on like it wasn't Hard-Bricked O.O? After i had confirmed that my Nexus 5 had no signs of life by going to sprint and showing them my device, i held it's Power button for a Long time as a last resort and it just came back to life?!??! Can ANYONE Explain this, or is my phone a God? Also, my volume down rocker broke after i was pressing it really hard at an attempt to go to Recovery Mode, Then it started working when i showed it to my Bro'. Is my Phone normal?

Emergency please help!!

Hey guys please someone on here help my dumbass!
I smashed my galaxy note 5 out of anger today and really need help!
I rooted my phone with a custom kernel about a month ago and it constantly rebooted during calls etc.... I wanted to use Arter97's kernel with CWM but it will not boot into recovery.
My phone will not connect to the pc but will only charge! I have tried every option and no luck! I tried my other galaxy s6 and the drivers worked but not my note 5!
The root used to work before but I did a factory reset and not it says root is not properly installed!
My issue is phone will not connect to pc to use ODIN and CWM will not boot into recovery to install Arters Kernel for my Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920W8
Please help me before I cause some serious damage to anyone gets in my way in real life!

The device still works, just the glass back of the phone broke. The phone is not being recognized by the computer at all even before I smashed it.. I tried every method but it works on my s6 right away but not the note 5. It says my phone has no root now after I factory reset but my kernel is still the rooted version... 3.10.61 noble kernel v0.1
Did the root damage the hardware that it would connect to my pc?

Try a different cable and a different USB port when in download mode.
I had the same once, it's not the end of the world.
I've found the more generic the cord the more likely it will work especially if your port is bent

It seems like I have multiple issues now, The phone is in a bootloop and will not pass Samsung Note 5 Logo, and the other problem is the device is not being detected on my computer.. Now it kinda seems worse because I am not even getting the error anymore it just won't connect.
I can still enter Odin download mode and Recovery mode yes.
I took it to the shop and they said they can fix itbut will cost around $240.00 to replace the motherboard so it can connect to the computer. If I can make it connect I can fix this whole issue..
I have tried multiple cords, multiple computers, disabled and enabled drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, updated drivers, every possible way you can think off with the computer.
