nice! must have missed this thread....
if he actually gets this working 100%, this would be awesome.
who knows, maybe HTC will come out
with an android upgrade for some
other phones, no seriously now, if this will work on
polaris then i'll be very very very happy.

Man are you lost. lol j\k This is the Kaiser thread. I would ask your questions HERE
If you would have searched you would not have had to wait for someone to reply and might have your answer all ready.
<edit> Apologies if I seem a bit cold coming back I didnt see the "lol j/k" bit in your post till after...
Firstly the link you posted is for the Blackstone which is the Touch HD, not the HTC HD2 which looks like it has just been released.
Secondly as far as I was aware although I may be wrong we can port the versions of the software running on the OS across to the Kaiser? For instance the dialer I have on my Kaiser isnt from the Kaiser its from the Mega and I was under the impression that bits and pieces can be taken from other HTC phones.
Hence why I was asking what builds it was on as it looks nice.

Is it possible to port Sense UI to Kaiser?
SenseUI and the rest of the HTC HD2 shell appears (to me anyway) to be the newest variant of TouchFlo3D, which as we know the Kaiser with its limited resources doesn't play smoothly with.
If we could get TouchFlo3D as nice as Manilla, there'd probably be (more) ROMS with it cooked in.
~CYD
It is also a matter of screen real estate, which is why we only get half of the Manila 2.6 today.
Remember when we all thought our new Kaisers had this great big screen ?
I have Att Fuze(touch pro)
with Coreplayer where i can use the Pad to click forward on movie Videos
like a que forward while watching movies
Was wondering can we Set it on Volume control to forward Video ?
Cos will get a phone HD2
Please
Anyone know anything about the Meego? Would you be able to flash the htc tp2 and put Meego on it?
Good question! I'd also like to know if there is possibility to port Meego to HTC WM and/or Android devices just by cooking a new ROM - or are there significant h/w issues? Also to know how difficult it is to modify apps to run on Meego that have been written for Android or WMx.
Don't we all wish?
Lol when I saw this thread my heart jumped out my chest. Then reality struck. And reality is, its not ever gonna happen. And if it does, it will be because someone used a lot of stuff from the Android port (Meego, and Android are both base on Linux Mobile Kernel). Anyhow even if you did get it to boot it would be plagued with issues and honestly not ever work the way we all want.
Hardware issues aren't really there, just no drivers available. Hell at this point I would be happy with a touch pro 3 with 1ghz omap/snapdragon and winmo/android either. But no luck for that, and we are even farther from seeing meego coming out of HTC. Here is to hoping the N9 is good and ever sees stateside.. Hope someone proves me wrong!

Oh as for programming... thats where Meego excels. Winmo already has support for Qt 4.6 and that is how I currently develop apps for winmo5.X+. Then when I change my device to meego (target device), recompile, and it is ready not a single line of code changed. But that is more the power of Qt than any significant advantage to winmo. Android support is coming so be ready for a wave of amazing Qt apps. Thank you Trolltech and Nokia. Long Live QT!
Dead thread/project/idea? I'd love to run Meego on Rhodium. There are some Linux games (Cave Story!) I'd like to carry on my phone but I don't want to install Rhobuntu. Meego'd let me run Linux apps and make calls without having to reboot.
Me too! Keep the thread up!

Could anyone do it?!
It's based on Linux, so it can be booted using HaRET... People can port Ubuntu, but can't port Meego?

I'm with ya.
BUMP!
Another Bump!
It hasn't even gotten a successful Official port yet, and you guys are asking for it to be on the Rhodium already? Geeze. The Leo hasn't even got a functional port yet, and they have more devs than we'll ever see here.
The moral of the story is be patient, or please help to contribute. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, it's just that Meego is loosing momentum in an official capacity now with only Intel working on it currently.
bump
Just keeping things alive if I can. I think this would be absolutely great. I will be patient....but man that would be cool. I still have a ways to go on my contract and I really don't feel like investing in another phone atm. I'd rather get a laptop...
I'm all for this as well. So BUMP
Frankly I love my TP2, hopefully HTC will put out a TP3, though it appears the HTC 7 Pro, is the Touch Pro 3.
Hey i have a question.. is the new sense 3.5 coming too for the HTC Sensation?
As it's aimed at lesser powered devices I'd say no but you never know
Surely it must work, I wish I knew how to resize the files from the new DHD rom and try to port it over.
Yeah, just seen the DHD Bliss-based ROM. Ideally we'd need to wait for another qHD device to be released to get it. Or that new 4.5"-screened HTC Android phone announced recently (like the Titan)

i thought titan was gonna have wp7?
maybe the revamped sensation will have it, but it wont really matter to me because i like senseless better
It is, but I'm sure I've heard there's gonna be another Android handset the same size. Could be wrong, mind
EDIT: The Holiday is 4.5" but leaks so far show Sense 3.0
The only thing I'm interested from in Sense 3.5 is the new Notes widget. That looks slick.
of course it will come out
Yeah, I'm sure it will come out, we have an excelent development team here
Most likely
What files would er need to port and how do you resize them to fit sensation ? I know that the HTC apks are needed but what other files are needed......libs etc?

There is a light version for underpowered devices, there's also a full version for high end devices, the htc rhyme comes with the simplified version, while the runnymeyde(or whatever its called) comes with the full sense
This is the runnymede rom

Today....maybe?!
EDIT: Yeah...ist out now. First ROM with 3.5 Leak available! Nice!
I hope it will beacuse it'll be nice to be able to eliminate the seventh home page on my Sensation Z710e.

We've had it for the last 2 weeks or so! There's a load of ROMs in Dev with Sense 3.5
EDIT: Old post, my bad!
Hey,
I was just reading the port guide for creating a Touch image for our device. It doesn't seem like a massive task to get it running just a little time consuming for a fella with a little less knowledge than some of the other guys around here. The funny thing was that the port guide specifically mentions our device, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting. Anyone know if this is (a) possible & (b) worthwhile. Like I said, I'd give this a go but I'm amature at best and it could probably be done a lot quicker by another interested party.
Cheers
I've been asking the same thing...
I'd love to have Ubuntu running on my P3110!
:highfive:
If you watched google hangout on ubuntuonair, you can saw that one of the devs had already ported it for his wife`s P3110. He told there that it took him like 2-3 hrs with debugging. Also he told that he will provide it i think. I would love to see it for my P3100 but im not that skilled to try to port it.
Maybe once ubuntu for phones is released xda can tamper with it?

For sure, and isn't something too difficult, since ubuntu for phones is based on cyanogenmod.
I used it on my n7 and to be honest, its not impressive at all.

Why??? What are the bad aspects???? I know its dev preview so it do not have all features working....what else????
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
Don't expect to much, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/ReleaseNotes : The Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview is intended to be used for development and evaluation purposes only. It does not provide all of the features and services of a retail phone and is not intended to replace your current handset. This preview is the first release of a very new and unfinished version of Ubuntu and it will evolve quickly.
Found this while searching for ubuntu to our tab> http://server1.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=3518 Looks interesting, the guy has a profile here on XDA but no word about ubuntu touch here :/
