[Q] Help Porting CM11 To THL T6S Device - General Questions and Answers

Hi, everyone. I am notMauriceVega. And, I need some guidance on this particular journey I'm about to take. I've search the interwebs, and here on XDA for information on this device, and maybe possible ports for it. But, its very slim picking. Either its a little of something, or nothing at all.I know little about porting over devices, and tinkering with Roms already.
But, for this device I'm totally lost. Just as many I'm used of the main stream devices. Which already had developers who was creating for those. And, I was hoping someone who maybe a little more experience could give me that kickstart on this device. Any help is apperiated on this device.
#ThankYouNOW:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Can any one help?

Any luck? Our THL t6s need roms too people!

Well, there are some roms here: http://www.needrom.com/category/thl/thl-t6s/t6s-thl-t6s/ and on 4pda.ru forums

[Q] Ready to root, Best learning resources?

I'm new to Android and this forum.
I've been using a stock Galaxy S2 a few months, now I'm ready to take it to the next level and learn how to root and modify Android properly.
I will be getting a Galaxy S3 upon release, and that's the one I'm going to modify.
I have lots of patience and a strong desire to learn how to do this right.
After doing a search of the forum, I didn't find a thread (perhaps I missed it?) that addresses a comprehensive way to do this.
Seems like many people are only looking for a quick solution. I'd rather spend the time and learn Android thoroughly.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rooting
I would recommend doing a you-tube search for your phone and how to root, after that I would also recommend looking at the rom you want on you-tube. Also look in the XDA developers forums on your phone that should also help you. If you are totally stuck do a google search that's how I rooted my phone with no prior knowledge

Crossing devices?

I'm interested to find out if it is possible to run a rom from another device on my Conquer 4G. I've looked at the specs on it, and they are nearly identical to that of the Galaxy S. Anyone know if that would be possible, or would I be better off just dropping my phone in the pool and bricking it that way?

"Nearly" isn't always good enough. It may work, but some features may cause it to freeze, or crash. Unless the components are virtually identical and even then, there may be issues relating to the product id's that are supported on one device but not the other. Someone here with specific knowledge of the devices in question may find this post and give more useful info.

The ROM could be ported over to your device fairly easily.

Any guides or information on how I might go about doing this? I'm totally a noob at doing roms, and I would really like to learn. There really aren't many roms for my phone (Conquer 4G), so I'd love to be able to adapt some of the roms from other devices for use with my phone.

Choosing which ROM to port is part of the same problem I'm having with my Zenithink tablet. As for info on porting, there's no shortage of that on xda, but I haven't had much luck with the search engine here. Best to Google the site.
ie; Google search, "porting rom site:forum.xda-developers.com"
without the double quotations marks.
I'd dig through my links to help out, but I haven't enough brownie points yet to post links on here.

I found one link here on the site, but I got confused on it rather quickly. I'm going to have to read it and make sure to ask questions where applicable because there are alot of really nice roms out there for other phones (The Galaxy S for instance) that I would love to try with my phone.

[Q] New guy - is XDA for me?

Hey guys!
Did some some searching around on this site and couldn't even find a mention of my device. I just recently bought a Huawei Y210C android phone. It is a Chinese manufacturer, which might explain the sparsity of information in English about it.
Anyway, about me, I do some programming in Java, and I want to eventually be making android apps. I also want to root my huawei, try some different ROMs on it and stuff. Now, as far as android development goes, I'm a pure beginner. Does it matter that there aren't people talking specifically about my phone, or can I snag some 'how to root' guides from other devices and ROMs, etc., and use them effectively, or would I have to figure out how to root it on my own?
Essentially, what I am asking is: given that there is no sub-forum for my device, and that I'm a dev noob, will I find useful stuff around here?
cheers
For anyone, and everyone , unless your gonna hack XDA, or blow the servers up then NO! otherwise yes, and you are very welcome if you ask me . Always nice seeing another XDA member. You may or may not know shiz about flashing a ROM, or kernel, or unlocking bootloaders, etc, etc, but that's why there are tutorials to get people started
Everything you needed to get started should be here , welcome to XDA

As far as your phone. You can for sure utilize XDA, I just did a search and there's not really much of anything for your phone, but you can for sure still post stuff you make for it on here . I'm pretty sure you could utilize the 'Android Developing and Hacking' or 'Legacy&Low Activity Devices' to post your work for that phone .

XDA is a great information resource for pretty much anything Android related. Being that you have a desire to develop apps I'm 99.9999% positive there is someone on XDA that'll help you out any way they can if you have any questions. In the end though only you can answer your own question. Joining XDA was one of the best choices I have made and now its inspired me to learn the Python language and then I'll tackle Java lol.

[Q] Prontotec (Allwinner A31)

Hey everybody,
I'm totally new to this forum, and first would like to apologize if I have posted this in the wrong place. I searched for a A31 forum but couldn't find one I thought would suit this post.
Anyway,
I've recently received a Prontotec Tablet with KitKat 4.4.2.
I successfully rooted the device following instructions I found regarding the A31 processor in a forum I ran across. Woot!
My problem now is I'm not finding anything regarding a Recovery or any Roms that would be suitable for this device.
Any help you are willing to provide would be greatly appreciated.
I had posted links, but since I'm new I'm not able to post them it seems -__-'
Lemme know if there's any clarifications you need, search Prontotec on Amazon or Google and you'll see what I'm talking about
It's one of those many, low budget Chinese tablets, but its rather good considering. I'm not expecting miracles, but a point in the right direction (what other tablets are similar/or have compatible roms) would be a great start.
Thanks everyone!

About safety of unofficial images and software

Background:
I have a couple of budget devices and one of them a mediatek tab. As everyone knows these don't get a lot of love. As my devices are getting older I was thinking of making some changes and software is hard to come by. I found a few unofficial recoveries and some rooting methods and was making a thread for these.
My question is:
I have made a thread for my Lenovo Tab 2 A7-20F here with links to various sources of info and software which I'm planning use on my device and report back but
How do I know if these are safe? They could be working but what I mean is in terms of data safety, trojans etc. because someone else might also use these. I don't want to later find out that these were not safe.
What is a better approach to work with such devices where little work has been done and very few people would be using them so interest level might be very low?
Once I collate all working software where do I put them up? Since the XDA thread might remain but lot of file links break as they are taken down if they are not used.
Thanks.

There is no way to know, you take your chances like the rest of us, unless someone has previously discovered something malicious about those files and made a note of it for everyone to see.
