Ok so for some reason i can not find hangouts in the play store. I can still see the new hangouts dialer but no hangouts itself.
So from my phone i tried to search it through the web play store.
So i searched for Hangouts on google like so.

I think clicked on Hangouts and it asked if i want to open it with Chrome or Play Store. If i click play store i get this
If i click open with chrome it goes to the hangouts play store page and when i click on install for devices i get this.
Why does it say my phone is not compatible?
My Nexus is rooted on the stock rom.
I was able to find the .apk online and install it just fine but i would like to be notified of updates in the play store.
If you're using a custom screen dpi instead of the default 480, you will get that incompatibility message about hangouts in the app store.

That must be it.
i used to have this problem when they released the voip update. changing the dpi back to normal, clearing data or any of the normal fixes didnt work.
Eventually it just showed back up by itself. So it might just be something on googles side

Google Play Services is killing my data plan. I did some research on the forums and I am assuming this is because I just installed CM and my nexus is trying to download the new 4.4.3 update. What should I do to make it stop? I Read that for some people checking the restrict background data box works but it doesnt for others. Also read about an app called DisableServices but also came across mixed results.
Can anybody help me?

I though this was fixed in their latest builds? Which build are you on?
I thought so too. But apparently is trying to download. I was on 4.4.2 and then installed cyanogenmod 11

Install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice
Go to System apps, google services and then disable "SystemUpdateService". This should fix it afaik,
Seems like the issue where the phone keeps downloading 4.4.3 over and over.

Yeah, thats exactly whats doing.
that was a CM bug, supposedly fixed in M7

I've been having the strangest issue with this phone, nonstop. No matter what ROM I use (so far including LOS, Resurrection Remix, Xiaomi.EU and MIUI Global) the Play Store seems to go haywire for no reason. I'm rooted with Magisk, but I don't have any modules installed that seems like they could cause an issue (just Youtube Vanced). I even tried stopping using Detach and ad-blockers, no dice. I'm not doing anything different than I did on the old Note 3 I just upgraded from, and I never had this issue there.
The Play Store just comes up blank. All the section headers are there, but there's nothing in them. If I search for any app, I just get "No results found". And when I look at my list of apps, only a small handful show. Other times, it'll come up, but then a whole lot of apps will be missing from the store, and getting to them other ways (from a google search in a web browser for instance) gives "This app is isn't compatible with your device anymore." And sometimes it'll just come up, work normally for a minute, then freeze.
In all cases, wiping the Play Store's data and cache fixes it and it goes back to working normally... for a little while. But when this happens three or four times a day, it starts to get annoying. Anybody have any ideas?

Edit: Okay, I'm pretty sure it was Detach (2.7). Even after uninstalling the module and clearing the Play Store's data, the issue persisted, but on a completely clean flash that's never had Detach, it doesn't seem to happen.
Maybe try to flash another version of the Gapps, stock is probably the best choice.
So I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930A that is having serious issues. The other day it was working fine, now it seems everything Google related is disappearing from phone. Under application manager, under system apps, it still shows the com.android.vending. However, it's a grayed out icon with Android man on it and bottom right of icon shows/says "SD" on it. Google Play Store, Music, Books, and etc. it's all just gone icon wise. I DO NOT want to factory reset and lose all my data. See, messages have been coming in too, but can't see them/access them because of whatever issue is going on. And a popup will apear that messages has stopped working. I downloaded the APKs for:
Google Services Framework (com.google.android.gsf_6.0.1-23_minAPI23(nodpi).apk),
Google Play Store (com.android.vending_17.8.14-all_0_PR_283242051-81781400_minAPI16(armeabi,armeabi-v7a,mips,mips64,x86,x86_64)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk),
Google Play Services (com.google.android.gms_19.8.29_(040700-282600551)-19829022_minAPI23(x86)(nodpi)_apkmirror.com.apk).
I've tried installing those, and Play Store will open and say updating google apps...but then popup will appear saying Goole Play Services stopped working. I've tried installing those, and then rebooting the phone, and they just go away. Once I restarted the phone, under device settings under personal, the Google tab is gone to show the settings for phone, as is the option to add a Google account from the accounts tab (see attached image below). So does anyone know why my phone is doing this and how to fix it? Like I mentioned earlier, I don't want to do a factory reset. Is there code I can modify to fix this?

It's all good now. Was asking for a friend and they went ahead and just factory reset.
Hello,
I've recently got OP8T and I was not planning to use Google account on it as I simply don't need it. But since the start I'm having issues with location GPS, the issue is when I'm inside buildings it's not finding location by network/BT etc. eventhough in settings I switched it on. Only GPS outside of buildings works. Another issue is that I do not see maps in different apps like uber or food delivery apps. So I thought the issue might be because of my lack of Google account login, but when I tried to login I get this error "Couldn't sign it - there was a problem communicating with Google servers".
So I'm a bit stuck with lack of network localization, lack of maps in apps, and can't login to Google.
Any idea how to fix any of those issues? Photos of those issues here: IMG
Thanks a lot.

from the screen shots you provided you do not have cell service.
is the radio broken or are you running without a sim?
I tried both, with sim and without. The solution was hard reset and now it works. Thanks for help anyway.
Hello
From time to time I have issues connecting my GW4 Classic LTE to my Pixel 6 Pro A13.
Today I updated my Pixel's Google play Services to the latest beta. After that, I received this notification (allow notifications for GW4):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then I checked the notification settings permission:
It seems that I can't activate the switch because of restricted permissions (security):
Now The Galaxy wearable app can't connect to the GW4. Also phone can't hold the Bluetooth connection alive:
I had this issue before. Only factory resetting the watch solved this problem. But I don't wanna reset my watch every few weeks. Rolling back to previous play services changed nothing. Clearing play services app data also triggers this issue.
Any ideas? Thanks.
EDIT: I allowed the restricted notification setting like the following instructions. But still no BT Connection. "No notification s possible" notification came back. GW4 only uses WiFi or LTE
Unless youre prepared to deal with the downsides of it, never update core apps like play services to a beta....
My own Watch 4 got its connection wiped just doing an update to a "stable" build from the play store overnight
There is no easy fix, i have to reset and restore from backup....
My ultimate point here is i wouldn't actively invite mayhem by using betas....
