Last thing I did was boot into recovery to make a backup getting ready to flash a new ROM. Next thing I know phone is literally dead. Put it on the charger over night but nothing phone won't even vibrate or anything.
Any thoughts?

Did you see the youtube tutorial? It sais to charge it for 12 hours first.... not 1 hour . You should do exactly what he sais in it.
Good luck, crossing fingers. If there is no response from the computer when you connect it there is not much more I know that can help.

Hi,
I also had the same problem and I guess it's kind of a default procedure that I would recommend: let it charge, ONLY with the stock charger because the phone needs 2 A current to charge, overnight then unplugg it (I let it sit for about an hour) than just plug it back in and wait for the 0% battery with the Chinese kanjis to pop up. If it it stays displayed for more than 3-5 sec., the phone will start to charge Hope this helps

Are you using the factory wall charger or? Are you charging with a wall charger or USB hooked to computer/car? I honestly do not notice this problem with the NS.

I was using an iPod wall adapter right now because i forgot mine at home..
Also I know this is offtopic but can someone tell me how to optimize the battery life on this phone? Idle why but I feel like the battery isn't that great on this phone

Mine took like 3hour 20min-ish for the first charge. 3hour-ish for the second and third.

If you have the Super Amoled version, then you can use an all black desktop screen saver, switch your email/Facebook/weather syncs to a later time (2-6 hours instead of every 30 minutes), put the phone in 2g only mode when your not browsing the web or downloading apps, etc.

What the hell does this got to do with a 6 hour charge time ? As if the display is on all the time... or as if the syncing uses 10%+ off battery. It has nothing to do with this stuff, you're just not on the same page as the problem.
Try again with the original charger plugged into the wall socket, not into USB.

I realised my Nexus S does take some time to charge up fully as compared to my Incredible S though.
Charger's rating is diff though after observing. 1A against 0.7mA

Try restarting the phone. For me after this is done, charging time improves significantly. Don't know why but it works.
My phone charges in about 4 hours or so. However, my car charger does it in half the time. It may be the lame charger that comes with the phone that is the problem.

my one x has been running on stock ics since i got it 6 months ago perfect until tonight when i get a low battery light. i pulled it out of my posket 10 mins later and nothing, ive been trying to charge it and it doesnt even have a charge light. theres no warranty so i really need some help with this.
It's most likely not bricked. Plug into a wall charger for a few hours, or even better overnight. Check it in the morning and try to power it on. Sometimes you need to hold the power button down. It's a power management bug present on this model that's causing it.

Well, does it charge while you have connected it to a Wall(AC) charger? Does the Battery indicate that it's charging??
Yes it does indicate. But the percentage did not move. This happened yesterday as well so I drained it then charged fine as normal. Any advice.
Thanks

No clue m8.. It's surely weird. You could try to flash factory images and see whether it fixes or not... Follow this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
Wait for a while and see whether someone else comes up with a solution.. If not, follow the above thread..

So it indicates that it's charging but the percentage doesn't go up.. that's what you're saying, right?
Try a different wall charger or try charging it via a computer/laptop and see if it charges? May be a faulty charger?

If you aren't using your phone regularly then Android OS/SystemUI/phone idle will always be at the top of the list!
Since you're rooted, install BetterBatteryStats or Wakelock Detector and see which apps are preventing your device from sleeping... Also, Install greenify and hibernate all apps except the ones which you would like to get notifications from like whatsapp...
OK thanks, will do that now. Any idea what is draining my battery ( see PIC)

Seems normal... Even I have the same... You can't make out by looking at it... You need apps Like Wakelock Detector : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector
Follow these steps:
1. Open Wakelock Detector settings and put a tick on "Statistics Since unplug"
2. Charge your device for sometime.
3. As soon as you remove the device from charge, turn off the screen and don't use it for few hours.
After few hours, Turn on the screen and open wakelock detector and check "Wakeup Triggers", "Kernel Wakelock" and "CPU Wakelock" and see what's preventing the device from sleeping...
Now once you Greenify those applications, you ought to have a good battery life!
