Gmail is not syncing anymore. Read and deleted emails are still showing up as new in the browser based app, even hours later.
Should I just delete and recreate the account?
Try clearing the Gmail app data.

Go into settings, applications, running, click on Gmail and you will see where you can click to clear data.

Got it... This solved the problem!
Thanks!
No sure if it's related but after a recent cwm restore I soon received the "low on Storage" notification. Went to my apps, sorted by size, and was surprised to see my mail app at 60+ mb when there's hardly 1mb in emails. Unable to delete data, tried force-close, even removing all accounts (1) did not solve the problem.
Suggestions?
Rooted running Synergy and x99's kernel.
Wiping cache and dalvik calche didn't work. Had to revert to factory reset, which worked, but had to set up everything again - .
What Rom were you on? What Recovery are you using? Which Mail App? Stock? Third party? What mail , Yahoo, Hotmail, ....?

From your home screen press menu, settings, applications, manage applications. Select the "all" tab. Find email and wipe data. Now if your still getting a low storage warning like many others have, then it's probably the type of apps2sd the rom is using.

Tried deleting data from "manage applications" to no avail. As stated above, however, I've since found a solution to my issue. I didn't want to do a factory reset but it worked and it wasn't too much trouble to get it set up again.
BTW is was an exchange account on the stock email app if anyone was interested in knowing that.

Every now and then my Gmail App completely freezes. I force stop it and then when I reopen the app, it works for a few seconds and then freezes once more. The only solution I have found so far is to reboot my TF300.
I'm not rooted and I'm running firmware .29.
Any suggestions?
No issues with GMail here, try clearing data?
Did you mean clear the cache, or clear data? Clearing the data is a little more annoying to recover from. lol

Yeah data, as its GMail and synced it should to rebuild the mail db files.
I actually prefer the email app that came with it, I can't stand Gmail's grouping all the mail together (conversation mode).

hello
I was messing with my calendars trying to clean it up and I accidentally deleted the "people" calendar, this is the calendar where I record birthdays and anniversaries for my friends.
The People calendar options is simply not available anymore, how do I get it back? Thank you
not a lot of info as are you rooted etc
if rooted restore a nandroid, or fresh flash of rom, wipe system, and all else
if someone has the apk, you could push it thru adb then change permissions, all thru adb

Perhaps just clearing cache and data in the Apps settings for calendar?
that would be a good first choice
but, unless I misunderstood, I think he lost the whole calendar apk-

I checked the HTC calendar app and it has one named "People"...I'm guessing you'd get it back clearing data.
worth a shot, unless OP already has it sorted--
easier than the options i listed--
Thanks guys for the replies and ideas.
I am simply missing the people calendar option, the calendar app works otherwise fine
My phone is completely stock and no rooted
The problem actually occurred after I cleaned the cach for the calendar app. The calendar list was initially empty and it slowly got filled wth all my google calendar entries , Facebook calendar etc.... Everything came back except the people calendar.

Problem solved.
I deleted my google account altogether and that solved the issue.
Thanks for your help!
With Android 11 came the bubble functionality, which displaced the chat head mechanism in Messenger. Unfortunately bubbles are very buggy - for example on OnePlus phones they are responsible for freezing the whole phone.
That's why I've created a MOD for Messenger which brings back the old chat heads.
Install guide
Uninstall all Facebook apps (Facebook, Messenger, Facebook Lite, Messenger Lite, Facebook Business Suite etc).
Install the apps from this post (the ones you are using)
Enjoy!
(If you use Facebook apps that are not attached to this post, let me know, I'll resign apks and add them)
--------------------------------------------
DEPRACATED 08.08.2022Messenger brought back old chat heads to their official application, this mod is no needed anymore
You can uninstall modded apks and install official ones from Google Play.
If you encounter any problems with official apps (e.g. crashing when trying to open an app). You probably needs to clear dalvik cache.

Download here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...s-for-android-11.4300779/page-5#post-85806197
Please give me feedback, if everything is all right I will replace files in this post.
UPDATE 7.09.2021
New versions:
- Messenger 329.0.0.10.118
- Facebook 336.0.0.0.85 alpha (I had troubles with decompiling standard/beta versions)

So the version of FB in my phone is showing as a system app. I can't uninstall. Attaching pics. Can u tell me how to uninstall plz? It shows"installed" but I can't uninstall, if I go thru the play Store, it gives the "uninstall updates to this system app" only option. I have it disabled because I don't trust it *note NO PERMISSIONS REQUIRED. Yeah well that's too fishy. Plus I'm locked out of FB right now cause i have 2 factor on & when I get the code & enter it I get an error msg invalid code. I left FB services enabled so I can continue using IG. I really miss using Messenger, if u have any suggestions I'd much appreciate.

You can try https://www.maketecheasier.com/uninstall-system-apps-without-root-android/ to uninstall system app
Sorry to bother you but is there an alternative way to accomplish this without having a computer??
Thank you it works! Btw, what if I don't use the Facebook app you provided here?

Is the link good? I can't download anything. It just open and nothing happens.
Man! Thanks for the mod! You're a lifesaver!!
Do we have to use the Facebook that you provide or can we use the official one?

Use the official one if you can! Resigned version is helpful if you cannot install Messenger due to signing conflict.

uninstalled all facebook apps with ADB, but still getting the error 'app not installed'. Galaxy s20+, android 11.
Thank you so much for this! Gone are the days of suffering through awful chat bubbles.
I have a weird bug on Facebook though. Posts aren't updating so I see the same posts even after force stopping the app and clearing the cache. This only happens to posts under "Home", not "Recent". Is there a fix for this?

you need to select the copy and paste link in the conversation. this option does not work because the system does not detect this application as official Messenger
