No sure if it's related but after a recent cwm restore I soon received the "low on Storage" notification. Went to my apps, sorted by size, and was surprised to see my mail app at 60+ mb when there's hardly 1mb in emails. Unable to delete data, tried force-close, even removing all accounts (1) did not solve the problem.
Suggestions?
Rooted running Synergy and x99's kernel.
Wiping cache and dalvik calche didn't work. Had to revert to factory reset, which worked, but had to set up everything again - .

From your home screen press menu, settings, applications, manage applications. Select the "all" tab. Find email and wipe data. Now if your still getting a low storage warning like many others have, then it's probably the type of apps2sd the rom is using.

Tried deleting data from "manage applications" to no avail. As stated above, however, I've since found a solution to my issue. I didn't want to do a factory reset but it worked and it wasn't too much trouble to get it set up again.
BTW is was an exchange account on the stock email app if anyone was interested in knowing that.

i am having the same issue also with a older SRE root....anyone help?!
it is also not deleting the email from my inbox if deleted on phone
Open Settings, Applications, Manage Applications. Press the Menu button and choose Filters, then All. Look thru the list for Gmail and click it. Clear the cache and data. Do the same to Gmail Storage. Then try again.

Has there been a fix for the old "Starting Download" issue on the Android Market? I still can't download anything from it. I know that resetting my phone will work (for a while), but it's not an option right now. Any help?
P.S. I've searched the forum as well and was not able to find a concrete answer.
I was told that starting Google Talk should make sure you're logged in to Google's server, which is (supposedly) what causes that problem.

Hmm, I tried that but I'm already logged in
That issue has haunted me for a while - I get a cold sweat anytime a download start takes longer than usual.
I personally don't believe it's an issue with your device (as I've seen some argue it to be), rather it's with your gmail account. When a factory reset didn't fix my problem, I went to a tmobile store where my buddy works, and we put my sim card into every android device he had (mt3g, mts, garmin, and one other I can't remember), only to find that none would allow me to download.
For me the workaround I'm currently using is to set up the device with another gmail account newly created for the purpose of being able to download apps, then set up my "real" gmail (the one I actually use) to sync my contacts and calendar. The only problem is that I can't use my real gmail on gchat, since that only signs into the primary account you used when setting up the device. I don't use gchat much on my phone anyway, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
I suppose it's possible my phone corrupted my account somehow, but I had deleted caches, updates, and anything else I'd heard had worked for others, but to no avail. If you get to the bottom of the problem, be sure to let me know.
Good luck!

Hi! Thanks for the tip but as it turns out - I can't even add another account It always produce an error saying "can't establish connection". Any idea why this is the case?
The "Starting Download" issue for me, was unfixable and related to my google account. I created a new one and it worked flawlessly.

Hmm...that sounds like a connectivity issue and not a problem with the device. I'd say reboot your phone and try again.
Just to be clear, I created a new gmail address and used that during the initial setup of the phone (after a factory reset of course), then went to settings> accounts and sync> select add account and entered the old gmail I've used forever (which is why just ditching it and using the new one wasn't an option - I didn't want to bother notifying everyone I had a new email).
You'll see that you only have the option to sync contacts and gmail with a secondary gmail address - not calendar. To get around this (since my old gmail is the calendar I want to sync), set up the new gmail to share calendars w/ the old one. Once that's done, you'll see in your calendar app settings on the phone the option to sync the old gmail calendar and not the new one.
Hope that made sense! It's really not difficult to do - just annoying that it has to be done at all. I wish someone would figure out why some gmail accounts get stuck at starting download. What a pain.
I had this problem for awhile, but it was because I was task killing Google Talk. When I disabled the task killer it worked fine.
I read a few comments on the help community in the market to go to applications, manage apps, select the market then uninstall updates. This worked for a while but very intermittent. Worth a go though

I generally just wait, I believe it's a server issue...I eventually get the download but, yeah, I wait and then go back to the store and attempt to start the download again...and that seems to work.

Yes downloading from the market is related to the Google Talk app. I once deleted it from /system and it did the same thing.

Thanks for all of the replies. I know of the delete Market update solution but when I browse for Market in the Manage Application screen, I never see the "update" portion there. Any other tips?

Why are you wanting to switch?
If you go into Settings >> Accounts and Sync >> Google, there is a Remove Account button at the bottom. No idea if it's what you want, but it's a start.
Hope that helps
Can you add one first then remove other? I know there always has to be one assigned

Adding one first before removing the primary account also won't do anything. You literally can't remove the primary Google account no matter what. I was in the same situation yesterday; the OP is going to have to do a factory reset.
Settings...
I have done this on almost every Android phone without having to factory reset. Havent tried on Sensation cuz I dont have one...yet.
Anyway, how I always did it was go to settings>Applications>Manage Applications>All and look for anything that says "Google".. i.e. Gmail,Google Backup Transport,Google Calendar sync,Google Partner Setup and Google Services Framework. Open up each one these and do a "Clear Data".
Thats it, try loggin in to your gmail and it will ask you to sign in.
You might have to do it more than once though, but it definitely works. Trust me.

No. That only wipes your password to the gmail account for security reasons, so that if someone found your phone and put their sim in it they can't access your account.

Why would I bother. It clearly said when I tried to delete my account "You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults."
Every now and then my Gmail App completely freezes. I force stop it and then when I reopen the app, it works for a few seconds and then freezes once more. The only solution I have found so far is to reboot my TF300.
I'm not rooted and I'm running firmware .29.
Any suggestions?
No issues with GMail here, try clearing data?
Did you mean clear the cache, or clear data? Clearing the data is a little more annoying to recover from. lol

Yeah data, as its GMail and synced it should to rebuild the mail db files.
I actually prefer the email app that came with it, I can't stand Gmail's grouping all the mail together (conversation mode).

I looked in the settings,I didn't find any setting for that. Can you tell me how?
I have no luck with Gmail app.
I tried clear cache already. But it will force close very frequency. If there is any way to fix it?
Thanks
So I use the stock email app. But for some reason it loses authentication of all my accounts constantly. When it does it asks me to retype in the password. But it won't actually let me do it. When I click in the text box it just disappears. The only thing i have been able to do is delete the accounts and re add them. Anyone have a fix?

use outlook for android, its a fantastic email program. i also like nine email
I think the stock email is the best email out there (except apples mail app on iOS). So I don't want to is another. But I have this problem too, or something similar. It's just stops syncing and the only way to get it to restart is to reboot or go to account settings and force a resync by going past 'enter password'.

I find it smoother and faster to work with than any of the third party packages. Just my opinion.

Actually I had the same problem with Outlook, which uses OSS authentication, what I did, it was to revoke all permission on my accounts, then clean the cache on the app.
Another way it's to use IMAP settings.
