What are the steps to get a stock Verizon phone on metro pcs?

I've seen threads say type certain codes into the dialer but they aren't working to unlock the hidden menus. Thanks

Greetings! I need help unlocking my Samsung Galaxy S III SCH-S968C Tracphone on Verizon network running android 4.1.2
I did find a couple of postings about unlocking the AT&T version by keying in *#197328640# to the dialer, but got no response or menu.
I also found a couple of threads to root my particular model such as: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516498
but it seems that rooting in itself will not help me (I am not versed in rooting, but I did review the process using cydia impactor as posted).
Can this phone be unlocked straight-up (please...), or is rooting required and if so, how would I proceed after the initial rooting application to actually unlock the phone?

No. If you try to unlock it, it WILL hard brick.

Wow all this knowledge and this crappy Flintstone tracfone has everyone bumfuzzled.. is that why it cost 140 used? Incompatible with just about every app and game. My classic game boy had more features and accessibility than this rip off prison phone. lawsuit overflowing device.
I'm beginning to not trust using tracphones for development - trying a Samsung Galaxy J7 Crown and it's stuck in that Binary Factory while now allowing me to re-enter download mode. Have you found anything that works on yours yet?
Hi everyone.. I need help.. I have galaxy s3 verizon running android 4.4.2. I want to unlock it for any GSM network all I found is for android 4.1.2 or below Kitkat and unable to find any solution for Kitkat 4.4.2. Please help me to unlock my phone to use any sim.
Newer vzw phones don't actually have a sim lock. You just need to put the new sim in, and add APN info. Not sure if this is the case with the gs3.
I'm using a vzw phone in Spain right now.. Didn't do anything to it.. Inserted new sim, added APN.

For future reference, VZW gs3 works fine with a tmo sim, just add apn's for your carrier, as stated above.
Has anyone here successful sim unlock there Sprint Galaxy s5 and running on AT&T network? If so, what apn are you using to get data? I can only get text and calling working. Thanks in advance

I have noticed people who have a Metro PCS phone get service in areas I don't and Im assuming this is due to the fact I am unable to update my PRL being as it still is running on stock Verizon firmware. Is there a manual way to update my prl or a rom that will work on my verizon phone that is set up for metro pcs? Ive searched all over to no avail!!!

In short no. The closest to what your thinking is like having a s7edge and instead of running your providers firmware, in your case (T-Mobile) but you got a Verizon phone, you could download and run the "unlocked firmware" for the phone. In this example it'd be SM-G935U if say you had a SM-G935R4(U.S. Cellular), I know you can also flash other providers to the s7edge like verizon to a us cellular phone. Don't think it flys with the s6 like that though.
That's what I kind of figured. Verizon has their phones extremely locked down but figured I would ask before I tried and bricked it. Thanks for the imput and help.
