I'll try to help:
1. download the ROM from here:
http[:][doubleslash]alex.swtesting.ro[slash]downloads[slash]ruu_chacha_htc_asia_wwe_1.57.707.2_radio_47.23.35.3033h_7.51.35.19_release_228383_signed[dot]zip
2. extract and copy the system.img to the same directory as your fastboot tools
3. enter the fastboot mode by pressing volume down + power button after the device has been turned off.
4. choose fastboot by pressing power button, and then connect your phone to your PC
5. using fastboot tools, run this command on cmd: "fastboot flash system system.img"
6. run factory reset on your phone fastboot menu...
wait until reboot, and in my case: voila, it brings all the apps back
does this support arabic? oh and can you identify which apk is responsible for the world countries when you try choose a location for worldwide clock? cause i deleted that it seems and have no idea which one it was. and if you know which one it is, if there's a link for it or if the link above, contains it.thanks

does your boot loader have the tag **unlocked** ? only if it has unlocked tag you can install using fastboot else you get the error. unlock your bootloader, flash the zip/image, once done relock the bootloader if you need.
to unlock the bootloader using htcdev.. i need to update the software to 1.57.. and i am getting signature error ehile doing so using the patch provided earlier in the thread

Yes you need to update your boot loader. Download the RUU from HTCDev. run the ruu and check for the rom.zip file in temp folder. rename the rom.zip to PH06IMG.zip and update the zip file through bootloader(power + volume key method). Then your bootloader will be updated. Revert if any errors.
Dont use the patch, try the official version. It will work.
Hi hrishikol ,
i did a deodex to my phone app and now the chacha is stuck at the HTC logo,
can you please give me ideas on how to solve this problem?
i have installed CWM,in order to flush a ROM ,
but it is not functioning properly
The Guides above are incomplete ( missing a few steps ) and will result in boot loop most of the time. the correct procedure is :
Part 1 : Setting up Fastboot.
1. Make sure you have java installed, if not get it from here : http://java.com/ and install it.
2. Download the Android SDK manager from here : http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html ( get the exe download )
3. Install SDK manager, then run the android SDK manager.
4. Once launched it will show you available updates, choose ONLY these two "Android SDK Platform Tools and Android SDK Tools" and update them.
5. After update is complete close the sdk manager and go to the SDK manager platform-tools folder, normal path is : ( C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools )
6. Copy the following 3 files from this folder : "adb.exe" , "AdbWinApi.dll" and "fastboot.exe"
7. go to your c drive ( c:\ ) and make a new directory called "fastboottools"
8. copy the 3 files above into your fastboottools folder.
9. so now your should have a folder like this : "c:\Fastboottools" with the following 3 files in it "adb.exe" , "AdbWinApi.dll" and "fastboot.exe".

That is it, Fastboot tools is setup. Proceed to next guide.
Flashing guide :
1. download the ROM from here:
ruu_chacha_htc_asia_wwe_1.57.707.2_radio_47.23.35. 3033h_7.51.35.19_release_228383_signed.zip
2. Extract and copy the system.img AND boot.img to the same directory as your fastboot tools "C:/fastboottools" ( make sure to copy both files )
3. Enter the fastboot mode on your phone by pressing volume down + power button after the device has been turned off.
4. Choose fastboot on the phone by pressing power button, and then connect your phone to your PC
5. Using fastboot tools, open the Command prompt and navigate to "C:\fastboottools" then run this command on cmd: "fastboot flash system system.img"
6. Dont reboot, Using fastboot tools, run this command on cmd: "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
( The two commands in step 5 and 6 are different, make sure to type each one correctly and to do them straight after each other )
7. Reboot phone. let it boot up, you will still get bootloop or error message.
8. Take out the battery.
9. Boot back into bootloader ( Volume down + power ).
10. Now choose recovery.
11. Phone should now reboot itself and bam, all should now work fine.

Hi,
i use a international version of motorola xoom mz601 in india and have updated to android 3.1 and use the latest baseband n_01.83.35p. my stupidity changed the seeting to USA band
after this band changed to USA band 800Mhz? i cannot use any network 2G or 3G and the motorola doesn't show any network operators.
i really want to revert back the settings.now how can i downgrade my baseband and what commands i need to execute also i have tried moving to stock 3.0.1 but no change in baseband.
any apk file that would help me change the band?
thank you.
Please help
Solution: Backup everything in external sd as everything in internal memory will be erased by the proceeds
1)Download and keep the instructions from (be sure to check your exact model no)https://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
2)extract all the zip contents to android sdk folder otherwise download it from Android sdk
3)Fully charge your device
4)Power off your device.
5)While holding the volume down button, press the power button for about 1 second and release the power button. The device will power-up and display AP Fastboot Flash Mode. At this point you can release the volume down button.
6)Attach your device to your computer with a USB cable and install the Motorola Device Drivers.
7)INSTRUCTIONS TO FLASH & RE-LOCK YOUR MOTOROLA XOOM:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock(Remember this will relock your xoom although you can unlock afterwards)
8)Reboot and let it load
9)turn on wifi and get the OTA updates for the second update I got my 3g & 2g signal Back
10)Wish u good Luck
Sorry for Bad Bad Bad English I am uneducated
just found a little tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745
called baseband switcher but thats only for motorola defy
am no hardcore developer but someone please help
also i did try to flash that using cwm but error 0 occured
You can also unlock after that and install any Custom rom you prefer
You're a life saver, thanks for this!!! I too did the same thing as you ... *#*#4636#*#* > Tablet Information > Select Radio Band ... "Oh, only USA Band is available?" ... *click* ... "Damn, Data connection is gone... knew I shouldn't have clicked that..."
Your steps to resolve fixed the issue after the baseband update ... Now, I think this all could have been much simpler if we could have just reloaded the Baseband, but I couldn't find any to download.
Hi everyone,
I end up here after loads of searchs and manipulations unsuccessful...
Well here is my problem :
Edit : The problem much advanced, but is still not resolved, see 5th post for more information of current status
Final Edit : Problem solved, see the 5th post.
I have a Motorola Razr HD XT925 which is Unlocked.
I tryed flashing a custom rom on it, and failed hard.
Before failing that hard, I had some backups which were working perfectly, those, don't work anymore ...
So here is what I can access :
Fastboot (works perfectly, I can access it from my PC also without any issues)
Recovery (works "perfectly", the only thing is I cant restore any backups and I can't flash any ROM well yet, tryed Factory Reset also, does not work)
Normal boot just remains on "Warning bootloader unlocked"
By the way, by doing all that my backups have gone from my phone, so I only have em on my computer which is a bit hard when you want to try a restore (on a backup that was working perfectly before).
Another thing I noticed, when trying to Factory reset for example, It says "Unable to mount '/data'" which is a bit hard if you want to write data ^^
If anyone has an idea, feel free to make a comment, any idea is accepted since I can't use my phone at all...
Feel free to ask any question if you need more information or if you did not understand something.
Here some more infos I got while using DroidHD Utility Deluxe :
The command "fastboot flash aboot file.mbn" leads to a "error: cannot load 'folder/file.mbn'"
I managed to get a functional Driod Razr XT925 OS working by using the tool I mentioned before : DriodHD Utility Deluxe
Everything works well except those :
I can't read any backups made with TWRP before that (I mean the backups which were functionnal but that I couldnt manage to get back on).
I can't make my SIM work anymore, it says, unknown sim, and no network available when I'm trying to use my phone with GSM functions.
Managed to get my backups work again. The folder was under another name, which is why TWPR couldnt find it.
One last problem, my /efs partition has left me You already see the problem ? No IMEI around !
So I managed to find my IMEI number again and trying to use that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960918 to write it back on my phone.
But...cause there's a but, I cant seem to use my USB drivers when I boot up in "BP Tools".
So impossible to access the phone, and impossible to write that "recovered" IMEI...
Anyone has a solution roaming around ?
Well at least I can feel like not being a total dumb ^^ Managed to install manually the driver for QC Diag Port, by selecting "Motorola" > "Motorola QC Diag Port" manually.
So, the BP tools mode can now be accessed from my computer, but here is another problem, I can communicate with the phone and even write my IMEI, but not on the phone Sounds like the entry 555 (which was totally absent) is in read-only mode :/
Here is the error given by RF NV Manager :
NvManager::writeToPhone(comPort, nvItems, throwException) -Unable to write 'NV_UE_IMEI_I' to the phone. (Parameter is write-protected and thus read only)
A clue ? Anyone ? Before I find it alone again, I think I'll soon be bald considering how I tear my hair since some hours...
Edit :
Ok so I tryed the QPST thing on a 32bits XP computer. Same problem.
I also tryed flashing my ROM into the stock one with RSD Lite, which is called like that :
9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22_USERSIGNED_S7_UCAVANQU02NA02F.0R_LSAVNQJBRTFR_P007_A004_CFC
Found it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032284
Under that name :
Branding: Retail France/Retail Central Europe
Version: 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22 FULL
Android Version: 4.1.2
Bootloader Version: N/A
Requires RSD Lite 6.0
Click to collapse
And got an error (even after removing the getvar command) which is :
Failed flashing process. 2/22 flash partition "partition_signed"->Phone returned FAIL
Click to collapse
Here is what the fastboot screen says :
Fastboot reason: Flash Failure
usb connected
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT
Click to collapse
Final Edit (#Request lock) :
Ok so I finally got out of trouble.
Flashed to the stock rom with that rom : 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22_USERSIGNED_S7_UCAVANQU02NA02F.0R_LSAVNQJBRTFR_P 007_A004_CFC
Found it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2032284
And applyed that homemade script (which gets rid of the cache memory problem before system flash) :
Code:
@echo off
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1_signed
fastboot flash sbl2 sbl2_signed
fastboot flash sbl3 sbl3_signed
fastboot flash rpm rpm_signed
fastboot flash tz tz_signed
fastboot flash aboot aboot_signed
fastboot reboot-bootloader
echo. When the screen bcomes back on, press any key to continue!
pause
fastboot flash partition partition_signed
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1_signed
fastboot flash sbl2 sbl2_signed
fastboot flash sbl3 sbl3_signed
fastboot flash rpm rpm_signed
fastboot flash tz tz_signed
fastboot flash aboot aboot_signed
fastboot flash boot boot_signed
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash system system_signed
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed
fastboot flash modem modem_signed
fastboot flash devtree devtree_signed
fastboot flash logo logo
fastboot flash cdrom cdrom_signed
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg_signed
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase tombstones
echo. Press a key to reboot the phone
pause
fastboot reboot
Then when I came back on my phone, my IMEI was back itself like a big one
4 days of SMS came back at that time, I'm saved

You should be able to find your stock rom here (for JellyBean 4.1.2) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032284
And here (for Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943879
Extract your stock rom into a folder then copy these files into this folder :
"fastboot.exe", "AdbWinApi.dll" and "AdbWinUsbApi.dll"
And about the script, write it into a file called "flash_fastboot_hybris.bat" using your favorite text editor (notepad or notepad++ for example).
Then copy this file into the stock rom folder.
Then boot up your smartphone into fastboot mode, plug it to your computer and execute "flash_fastboot_hybris.bat".
Follow the script insctructions, and your smartphone should be back to its stock recovery.
Tell me if you need some files or more information.

For my own story, when I had successfully flash with droidHD utility, I flashed back using my own script and it worked.
If it doesn't then your problem is probably different from mine (your IMEI is probably corrupted), you could try using QPST and modify entry #550 with your own IMEI.
fixed

You're welcome, I had been stuck like you which is why I made that homemade script
My OPO is 100% stock currently running the second latest OTA update(coz I'd received a notification saying theres new update today but i haven't updated)
It was working perfectly fine until just now when I withdraw it from my pocket it shows the 1+ Powered by android loading screen.
I re-booted and it stuck at the same screen. I then boot into recovery and factory reset, wipe data wipe cache and boot and its still stucking at the same loading screen.
P/S : I was on wifi for a while in the cafe maybe it had downloaded the new OTA and maybe when the screen rubs against my pants in my pocket idk how it unlocks itself and it update itself with the downloaded(maybe) software update and eventually it dies. This might be one of the possibilities because if otherwise, it just dies itself without reason lel.
I've researched abit and someone suggested me to flash a stock rom using fastboot mode and PC adb command prompt which idk wtf is that lel. But in order to use that u need to unlock bootloader right, being 100% stock my bootloader is probably locked right?
omfg please guide me through this i need to solve this asap i dont have a backup phone. :silly::silly::silly::silly::silly::silly:

Problem solved. Detailed solutions for noobs like me!
OKAY here is what I DID. it may not work for u, but it worked for me. so if ur gonna follow these steps do it at ur own risk. and please dont expect me to helpp u to counter any special circumstances i.e. any condition not stated here coz im a perfect noob too, lel.
FYI this is called flashing roms in fastboot mode. And i had successfully flashed my OPO back into CM12.
STEPS :
Using a windows PC:
1) Download the UNIVERSAL ABD driver for Windows and freaking INSTALL IT.
2) Download the OnePlus One CM12 factory image “cm-12.0-YNG1TAS0YL-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip” (fastboot flashable package).
3) Download the flashing tools. ( it contains 4 things: adb.exe AdbWinApi.dll AdbUsbWinApi.dll and fastboot.exe)
the download links are available from this link:
ok im not allowed to attach links but u can search for it " webtrickz[dot]com how to flash cm12 factory image fastboot mode"
however, the steps given in the above link are crappy as well so follow mine =P just do the downloadings only from there.
4) Extract the 4 things from the flashing tools zip file into a folder, name it whatever****ing folder u want. we call it folder X.
5) and then extract all the things in the CM12 rom zip file into folder X.
6) Boot ur phone into fastboot mode simply by pressing and holding down the power button and the volume up button simultanoesly until u see "fastboot mode" with an Android face appears.
7) Connect ur phone to your PC with a USB cable. Now ur phone should be connected to the pc in fastboot mode.
8) open up folder X. then right click in folder X while holding down the Shift button, and click on "Open command window here"
p/s : this, I think, is like a special way to open up a cmd prompt used specifically for abd/fastboot. U can also actually open up cmd prompt normally but in order to do that you need to install idk some **** so that ur NORMAL cmd prompt will recognise abd or whatever **** it is. however, if u do that, u do not need to extract the CM12 rom files into folder X as the NORMAL cmd prompt will have the ability to, sorta like detect the CM12 ****s. anyways, forget it, just ****ing use the special way i.e. go to folder X , shift + right click to open up the SPECIAL cmd prompt)
9) a command prompt(cmd) should appear, Now check if u are connected by keying in "fastboot devices" in the cmd. Then the serial number of ur phone should turn up, and not " waiting for device" "devices not found" or any messages of that sort.
If the latter appears, idk how to help u sort that out urself lel.
10) Now u have to unlock the OEM in order for this flashing process to work. idk whats unlocking oem but just unlock it FFS. To do this, simply key in "fastbook oem unlock"
11) I think that under normal circumstances, a pop-up will appear in ur phone to let u choose if u really wanna unlock this oem thingy. BUT for me, my phone just rebooted back into the ****ing 1+ Powered by android screen idk why, but its alright i was on the right track as my oem has been unlocked. Then i powered off my phone and booted in back into fastboot mode once again. (FYI whenever I have to boot my phone to fastboot mode I disconnect the usb cable idk if this is necessary but thats what i DID)
12) go back to the CMD just now, and freaking paste the commands listed below into the CMD.
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
fastboot flash dbi sdi.mbn
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot flash rpm rpm.mbn
fastboot flash oppostanvbk static_nvbk.bin
fastboot flash tz tz.mbn
fastboot flash LOGO logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot reboot
13) Wait for several minutes, and when everything's done, the commands will stop at the last command which is "fastboot reboot"
Press Enter! and ur phone will reboot normally! =)

Phone wont boot means?
If u are able to get in to recovery then its always possible to flash any official firmware without root with factory reset its easiest process to solve soft bricked device
First method mentioned is the same process u had done
(fastboot recover) but its automated process with OPO tollbox
Again fastboot method is usefull if u already enabled usb debugging in developer option before u went in to bootloop
I think u have previously enabled usb debugging
So it is also a method to recover u r problem
Any way its great news u got it worked
EDIT: I attached a zip with AIDA64's reports for this phone. One report has Magisk hidden from AIDA64, the other doesn't.
This mostly a copy of _cab13_'s Rooting the UMI F2 post as the same instructions for rooting that phone are how I rooted the S5 Pro. So please give _cab13_ thanks here if this helped you root your phone. I'll take a thanks for removing the orange state warning if I helped you with that
Please be patient when posting questions, I will get back to you as quickly as I can. I just have many responsibilities which take up a great deal of my time.
Rooting the S5 Pro
Disclaimers
This is important, please read thoughtfully.
whatever you do, NEVER EVER use SP Flash Tool in "Format All+Download" mode. This will wipe your IMEI['s]s and some other bad stuff will happen like loss of fingerprint sensor. This cannot be reversed by us.
Once bootloader is unlocked, warranty is considered void. By following this guide, you consent to that happening. Safety net CTS will not pass anymore unless you flash Magisk which hides the unlocked bootloader.
Never re-lock your bootloader while running anything unofficial as the phone will not boot until you unlock again.
And, once again, a lot of bad things can happen like boot loops, if that happens to you, don't freak out! Simply re-flash the stock ROM, redoing the rooting process from the start. It might be time consuming, but that's your safest bet!
More important even, have fun rooting, it's before all a hobby!

Unlocking Bootloader
ATTENTION!! After unlocking the bootloader, all user data in the phone's memory will be lost, so do not forget to throw all the most important things on your computer or flash drive!
1) Activate "Developer options" through Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number multiple times.
2) Open "Developer options" in Settings > System > Tap Advanced.
Enable "OEM Unlocking" and enter your password to confirm. Enable "USB Debugging" as well.
3) On Windows, download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot by shimp208
On Linux, use your package manager to install android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot
4) Open command prompt (Win + R > type cmd) or a terminal on linux.
5) Plug your phone, accept the prompt about adb and the PC signature.
6) Type adb reboot bootloader to reboot in fastboot mode. Unplug your cable from your phone
and replug it after fastboot is printed at the bottom of the screen.
THESE NEXT TWO STEPS WILL COMPLETELY WIPE YOUR DATA
7) Unlock the bootloader using fastboot flashing unlock and pressing Vol+
8) Unlock the secure partitions using fastboot flashing unlock_critical and pressing Vol+
9) Restart using fastboot reboot
You will now always see "Orange State" at boot; this is completely fine and will only delay your boot by 5 seconds.
Rooting using Magisk patched boot.img
This is "experimental" and is probably overkill, but everyone managed to install Magisk with it.
1) Clean install UMIDIGI_S5Pro_20200702.V3.02 (or the European one) with SPFT by selecting the scatter file, pressing download an rebooting the phone
(Make sure it is in "Download Mode" and not "Format + Download")
2) Patch boot.img by copying it to your device, using Magisk Manager to patch it, and get back the magisk_patched.img in the Download folder back to your PC.
3) Start ADB while booted; run adb reboot bootloader. Alternative is to reboot to recovery and selecting "reboot to bootloader"
4) unlock if not already done with fastboot flashing unlock followed by fastboot flashing unlock_critical
5) In the following code, the vbmeta.img and the recovery.img are the stock files from the ROM you downloaded and extracted.
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash boot magisk_patched.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot
When rebooting, install Magisk Manager. It will prompt to finalize the installation, you can do so.
Congratulations ! You are now a proud Magisk user ! All credits goes to @topjohnwu he's the real MVP here.
Returning to stock / Resolving issues
The best way to resolve any issue is to return to stock. Here is the method.
1) Download latest stock ROM on UMIDIGI's forums
2) Download SP Flash Tool if you don't have it yet (Windows only)
3) Extract stock ROM in SP Flash Tool directory. Refer to Flash Tool guide if needed.
4) Open SP Flash Tool, Download Tab, "Choose" in Scatter-loading file, select the scatter file in the stock ROM directory.
5) If you want to keep your data, untick "userdata" partition. MAKE SURE FORMAT IS NOT SELECTED!
6) Press Download and connect your device via USB. Reboot the phone or turn it off and everything will be flashed.
7) If you want a full stock experience, I recommend relocking the bootloader so that SafetyNet will pass. Get into fastboot mode by using adb reboot bootloader and use fastboot flashing lock_critical followed by fastboot flashing lock. This will wipe your data once more.
You should be good to go.
ONE LAST THING
Get rid of your orange state warning.
Download the attached zip file and extract.
Put your phone into fastboot and:
Code:
fastboot erase lk
fastboot erase lk2
fastboot flash lk lk_patched.img
fastboot flash lk2 lk_patched.img
fastboot reboot
No more orange state warning! Reflash the stock lk before unrooting, though.
ATTACHED LK FILE IS FOR UMIDIGI S5 Pro ONLY.
Thank you for re-posting this as an option to root the S5. I did get stuck on flashing the recovery. I have tried a few times and every time it just flashes orange , restarts and loads normally. I have verified root.
i have used the recovery found here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-rooting-umidigi-s5-pro-magisk-t4151183
I have no success installing TWRP. Do you know if twrp has a recovery that will work?
Hey guys it's me again !
Got some good news : I bought a S5 Pro as well
And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !
I might get into rooting it soon, idk.
Thanks for the shout-out @zerosava

No luck for me finding a custom recovery (twrp or anything else.)
If you have any exp with them, see if you can make the F2's (found in the F2 root thread) work. It SHOULD only need a minumum of tweaking, just to account for the (afaik) slight soc differences. i'm not gonna hold my breath. there seems to be a void when it comes to enthusiasm for this phone. by my serial no, i have the 4832nd phone manufactured. compared to serials ranging from 22000- 189000 for my other umis (f1play, s3pro, f2, power3)
I think I'll try making TWRP soon for it.
The F2 TWRP would not be usable this easily, it's easier to start fresh.
If anyone wants to try, download the sources for the F2 TWRP on my GitHub, then you need to extract the stock kernel and replace the F2's with the S5pro's
root working thanx

I am sorry, but you will have to contact UMIDIGI support. Only they can help you as far as I know. I feel for you, I really do. I did this when I was a newbie with my F1 Play.

hello folks,
This message is not about rooting s5 but rather about downgrading. I posted on the umidigi forum but have not received an answer. So the problem is the new OTA update that they pushed out yesterday. After update I lost 4G connectivity and i am unable to restore it. I want to roll back to the previous update. They have the roms available on the forum and I downloaded one but what I am not sure is can I use SP flash tool to just download the older ROM version on top of the new one?
I see lots of manuals on how to update but how do I safely downgrade?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do a "download only" flash of the "super", " vbmeta_system", and "vbmeta_vendor" partitions only (uncheck all other partitions) from the previous ROM. That should do it.

What precisely stuck you?
There is a new update firmware please make a rooting tutorial on youtube.,
Somebody made a custom TWRP and posted it on here. So if that'll help anyone out and get them to make a tutorial video, that be great. 'Cause I'm reading this over and over again, and I think I can do it, but I'm being very hesitant about it. And it's getting me all frustrated. I had it on "Flash Mode". And when I continued typing it out, it didn't go through and that had me on a raging panic attack. Luckily, it didn't mess up. But now I'm more hesitant. Please make a quick tutorial, doesn't even have to be perfect...

Thanks for this guide. I am completely lost with step 7 and 8. What does the Unlock the bootloader using fastboot flashing unlock and pressing Vol+ mean?????? Where do you enter the unlock code and what is it?

I am able to get FastBoot Mode on my screen (through step 6). I plug the phone back in per directions & I hear the Windows device connected chime.
I type: fastboot flashing unlock in the same cmd window
and I get "<waiting for any device>" in the cmd window and it hangs.
Every few seconds I hear the Windows device disconnected noise, but no device connect chime. This lasts indefinitely.
I repeated step 7 several times with variations with the Vol+ button: pressing first, holding down while pressing enter in cmd window, pushing afterward, holding down afterward, etc. Same results as described above.
Any help available? Should I not unplug my phone from the PC? The F2 directions did not require that.
thanks!
