[Q] Xoom on wrong baseband [SOLVED] - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i use a international version of motorola xoom mz601 in india and have updated to android 3.1 and use the latest baseband n_01.83.35p. my stupidity changed the seeting to USA band
after this band changed to USA band 800Mhz? i cannot use any network 2G or 3G and the motorola doesn't show any network operators.
i really want to revert back the settings.now how can i downgrade my baseband and what commands i need to execute also i have tried moving to stock 3.0.1 but no change in baseband.
any apk file that would help me change the band?
thank you.
Please help
Solution: Backup everything in external sd as everything in internal memory will be erased by the proceeds
1)Download and keep the instructions from (be sure to check your exact model no)https://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
2)extract all the zip contents to android sdk folder otherwise download it from Android sdk
3)Fully charge your device
4)Power off your device.
5)While holding the volume down button, press the power button for about 1 second and release the power button. The device will power-up and display AP Fastboot Flash Mode. At this point you can release the volume down button.
6)Attach your device to your computer with a USB cable and install the Motorola Device Drivers.
7)INSTRUCTIONS TO FLASH & RE-LOCK YOUR MOTOROLA XOOM:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock(Remember this will relock your xoom although you can unlock afterwards)
8)Reboot and let it load
9)turn on wifi and get the OTA updates for the second update I got my 3g & 2g signal Back
10)Wish u good Luck
Sorry for Bad Bad Bad English I am uneducated

just found a little tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1052745
called baseband switcher but thats only for motorola defy
am no hardcore developer but someone please help
also i did try to flash that using cwm but error 0 occured

You can also unlock after that and install any Custom rom you prefer

You're a life saver, thanks for this!!! I too did the same thing as you ... *#*#4636#*#* > Tablet Information > Select Radio Band ... "Oh, only USA Band is available?" ... *click* ... "Damn, Data connection is gone... knew I shouldn't have clicked that..."
Your steps to resolve fixed the issue after the baseband update ... Now, I think this all could have been much simpler if we could have just reloaded the Baseband, but I couldn't find any to download.

Un-rooting 4g xoom

Ok so I have decided to un-root my moto xoom using the guide found here on xda ( un-root and re-lock moto xoom HR166 build) I have used this method many times without any issues prior to getting the 4g upgrade. Yesterday I tryed this and everything went well except no 3g or 4g service. Is it because of the build number? Because HR166 is the only un-root guide I have found.
Thanks in advance
Johnny
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
It looks like it. The HR166 is for the 3G Xoom MZ600,
The Build HLK75D is for the MZ602 4G LTE Updated
MD5 Sum: 3062b90024ae6b33b24bb9b5ccffcaea
NOTE: This release can only be used with MZ602 models or MZ600 models that have received the LTE modem (hardware) upgrade. If your MZ600 has not been upgraded with LTE hardware, do not install the HLK75D release.
Resolution found
Go to http://developer.motorola.com/products/software/
Download MZ602 Xoom WiFi + Verizon LTE/4G
(Login required to download the file.)
Extract the files to the Android SDK Tools folder or wherever adb is located.
Connect the Xoom in USB Debugging mode.
Launch ADB in command window.
Issue the following commands:
adb devices
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
Reboot Xoom.

[SOLVED] Issues Booting on a XT925 - Unlocked device

Hi everyone,
I end up here after loads of searchs and manipulations unsuccessful...
Well here is my problem :
Edit : The problem much advanced, but is still not resolved, see 5th post for more information of current status
Final Edit : Problem solved, see the 5th post.
I have a Motorola Razr HD XT925 which is Unlocked.
I tryed flashing a custom rom on it, and failed hard.
Before failing that hard, I had some backups which were working perfectly, those, don't work anymore ...
So here is what I can access :
Fastboot (works perfectly, I can access it from my PC also without any issues)
Recovery (works "perfectly", the only thing is I cant restore any backups and I can't flash any ROM well yet, tryed Factory Reset also, does not work)
Normal boot just remains on "Warning bootloader unlocked"
By the way, by doing all that my backups have gone from my phone, so I only have em on my computer which is a bit hard when you want to try a restore (on a backup that was working perfectly before).
Another thing I noticed, when trying to Factory reset for example, It says "Unable to mount '/data'" which is a bit hard if you want to write data ^^
If anyone has an idea, feel free to make a comment, any idea is accepted since I can't use my phone at all...
Feel free to ask any question if you need more information or if you did not understand something.
Here some more infos I got while using DroidHD Utility Deluxe :
The command "fastboot flash aboot file.mbn" leads to a "error: cannot load 'folder/file.mbn'"
I managed to get a functional Driod Razr XT925 OS working by using the tool I mentioned before : DriodHD Utility Deluxe
Everything works well except those :
I can't read any backups made with TWRP before that (I mean the backups which were functionnal but that I couldnt manage to get back on).
I can't make my SIM work anymore, it says, unknown sim, and no network available when I'm trying to use my phone with GSM functions.
Managed to get my backups work again. The folder was under another name, which is why TWPR couldnt find it.
One last problem, my /efs partition has left me You already see the problem ? No IMEI around !
So I managed to find my IMEI number again and trying to use that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960918 to write it back on my phone.
But...cause there's a but, I cant seem to use my USB drivers when I boot up in "BP Tools".
So impossible to access the phone, and impossible to write that "recovered" IMEI...
Anyone has a solution roaming around ?
Well at least I can feel like not being a total dumb ^^ Managed to install manually the driver for QC Diag Port, by selecting "Motorola" > "Motorola QC Diag Port" manually.
So, the BP tools mode can now be accessed from my computer, but here is another problem, I can communicate with the phone and even write my IMEI, but not on the phone Sounds like the entry 555 (which was totally absent) is in read-only mode :/
Here is the error given by RF NV Manager :
NvManager::writeToPhone(comPort, nvItems, throwException) -Unable to write 'NV_UE_IMEI_I' to the phone. (Parameter is write-protected and thus read only)
A clue ? Anyone ? Before I find it alone again, I think I'll soon be bald considering how I tear my hair since some hours...
Edit :
Ok so I tryed the QPST thing on a 32bits XP computer. Same problem.
I also tryed flashing my ROM into the stock one with RSD Lite, which is called like that :
9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22_USERSIGNED_S7_UCAVANQU02NA02F.0R_LSAVNQJBRTFR_P007_A004_CFC
Found it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032284
Under that name :
Branding: Retail France/Retail Central Europe
Version: 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22 FULL
Android Version: 4.1.2
Bootloader Version: N/A
Requires RSD Lite 6.0
Click to collapse
And got an error (even after removing the getvar command) which is :
Failed flashing process. 2/22 flash partition "partition_signed"->Phone returned FAIL
Click to collapse
Here is what the fastboot screen says :
Fastboot reason: Flash Failure
usb connected
downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT
Click to collapse
Final Edit (#Request lock) :
Ok so I finally got out of trouble.
Flashed to the stock rom with that rom : 9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQU-22_USERSIGNED_S7_UCAVANQU02NA02F.0R_LSAVNQJBRTFR_P 007_A004_CFC
Found it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2032284
And applyed that homemade script (which gets rid of the cache memory problem before system flash) :
Code:
@echo off
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1_signed
fastboot flash sbl2 sbl2_signed
fastboot flash sbl3 sbl3_signed
fastboot flash rpm rpm_signed
fastboot flash tz tz_signed
fastboot flash aboot aboot_signed
fastboot reboot-bootloader
echo. When the screen bcomes back on, press any key to continue!
pause
fastboot flash partition partition_signed
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1_signed
fastboot flash sbl2 sbl2_signed
fastboot flash sbl3 sbl3_signed
fastboot flash rpm rpm_signed
fastboot flash tz tz_signed
fastboot flash aboot aboot_signed
fastboot flash boot boot_signed
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash system system_signed
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed
fastboot flash modem modem_signed
fastboot flash devtree devtree_signed
fastboot flash logo logo
fastboot flash cdrom cdrom_signed
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
fastboot flash fsg fsg_signed
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase tombstones
echo. Press a key to reboot the phone
pause
fastboot reboot
Then when I came back on my phone, my IMEI was back itself like a big one
4 days of SMS came back at that time, I'm saved

You should be able to find your stock rom here (for JellyBean 4.1.2) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032284
And here (for Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1943879
Extract your stock rom into a folder then copy these files into this folder :
"fastboot.exe", "AdbWinApi.dll" and "AdbWinUsbApi.dll"
And about the script, write it into a file called "flash_fastboot_hybris.bat" using your favorite text editor (notepad or notepad++ for example).
Then copy this file into the stock rom folder.
Then boot up your smartphone into fastboot mode, plug it to your computer and execute "flash_fastboot_hybris.bat".
Follow the script insctructions, and your smartphone should be back to its stock recovery.
Tell me if you need some files or more information.

For my own story, when I had successfully flash with droidHD utility, I flashed back using my own script and it worked.
If it doesn't then your problem is probably different from mine (your IMEI is probably corrupted), you could try using QPST and modify entry #550 with your own IMEI.
fixed

Motorola XT910 Bricked

good afternoon forum Mods if I'm posting in the wrong section I'm sorry and move where it should be post it at I couldn't find a way to open a new thread under Motorola all I was able to see was threads already posted
any way I'm in desperately need of help I have this Motorola XT910 which one was working just fine the only problem that it had was the wifi and bluetooth wouldn't turn on it's a LATAM device and it had 4.1.2 I don't know who updated to this version or how that's all I could see under about phone it has bootloader locked I couldn't tell you if it was root don't really remember I only had it for a couple hrs and decided to flash a different rom to see if the wifi and bluetooh option would be available
this is what I done to the phone so far i'm gonna start from when it was working
I install BMM and I follow all the instructions just like in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2260951 but phone never booted normally it just got stock on this screen with a gear looking wheel turning I did a back up of my system but could never go to it all i remember being able to go to was this screen on BMM where you can chose what system you want to boot but all I see was artmod rom and all the other system windows were empty so i was just stuck between this screen the gear wheel trying to boot the system and the screen where i could chose the system i wanted to boot into
no help there so battery was low so i removed it charged it with a universal charger over night boot into AP Fastboot and trying flashing the 3 folowing roms with RSD Lite 6.1.4 but every rom gives me the same error message CDT.BIN failed phone return fail
these are the roms i'm trying to flash

mfastboot flash devtree devtree_signed
mfastboot flash ebr ebr_signed
mfastboot flash mbr mbr_signed
mfastboot flash recovery recovery_signed

14) Then go to install update from external memory and install retailEU. jellybean OTA that you downloaded (you have to put it to your external SD card)
15) If all is fine it will update, just reboot and its unbricked
no luck what else can you suggest please any help would be really appreciated

Accidentally flashed LTE OTA 2.2.1 on my Wifi model

Hello
My tablet is rooted and with an unlocked bootloader and I accidentally flashed the full hotfix of the US LTE version on my Wifi version (upadte 2.2.1). I quickly flashed the wifi version OTA after having found out of the mistake, but now the bar below in the tablet looks like in the photo below. Neither the home button or the windows button are there and I can't pull down the small quick access menu in the top (won't open more than what it has in the photo). Also when I hold the power button I only get two options, "Power off" and "Restart", the other options are gone. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to fix the issue without having to reset the tablet or something like that. Ps: I don't know how backups work so I have never made one and nothing else seems to have been affected so far.

Best thing to do is, download the recovery image from nvidias website for the latest OTA available, then goto bootloader (adb shell reboot bootloader), fastboot flash system system.img

That wouldn't delete anything I have in the tablet, right? And can you give me a link, because I have the version of the full OTA that is in the GEforce Thread and that one didn't fix it for me. Are you referring to another version?

The solution has been found.
Thanks to everyone that commented, I was able to fix the issue with a command that someone told me on another forum. I just had to give this command and follow a few steps(on the terminal):
am start -n com.google.android.setupwizard/.SetupWizardTestActivity
After that the navigation bar and the status bar both appeared and everything was good again.

[Z010D/ZC550KL][VoLTE] How to install the most recent radio with VoLTE

UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER IS NOT REQUIRED
Download the latest stock rom: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-Max-ZC550KL/HelpDesk_Download/ (note there are two similar devices 8916 & 8939)
unzip the ZIP package and copy out NON-HLOS_IN.bin & asusfw.img files
enable USB debugging in the phone
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS_IN.bin
Code:
fastboot flash asusfw asusfw.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
You may need to also follow: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/in/forum.php?mod=redirect&goto=findpost&ptid=147035&pid=626678 (remember VoLTE option appears only if it is supported by network)
You are done.
Note: If you install stock ZIP package, NON-HLOS.bin is applied instead unless country on the factory partition is set to India where Asus decided to provide VoLTE - i.e. there are two radios in the package and this way you can install the one with VoLTE support.
Latest ADB & fastboot: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zip
does this work with custom rom
im using lineage os 16.0 for this phone
It should work juts fine. In any case, you can safely flash back the original radio or the lineage radio (if in the ZIP with ROM).

unlocked bootloader is required just tried it on my asus zenfone max pro m2. the issue with my phone is i was running on a custom rom and then i flashed the stock firmware on doing so the mobile radio power has been switched off permanently. i dont know how to switch it back on. on typing *#*#4636#*#* the toggle for mobile radio power is turned off. when it turn it back on after a few seconds it switches itself back off. i cant flash the modem file unless i unlock the bootloader and ive already screwed up the phone so dont want to take anymore chances. only the wifi is working now. my phone does not detect any sim cards. anyone who knows how to fix this? please help.
on flashing the file it says "FAILED (remote: Flashing is not allowed in Lock State)"

me too facing same problem what to do now
is there anything to get volte back on "z010dd" i.e. msm 8939.
i lost volte while flashing latest stock rom via asus flash tool (stock rom, locked bootloader), before it, volte was working.
I got the volte option in the settings, it is enabled but no volte logo in status bar and no call with JIO
already tried-
above method. links not working.
tried firmware by atom provided on other website.
tried downgrading and again upgrading, doesnt work.
tried NON-HLOS_IN.bin from the firmwares provided on asus websites -
https://www.asus.com/in/supportonly/ZenFone Max (ZC550KL)/HelpDesk_BIOS/
didnt work, as option is there in settings, but cant call via volte JIO directly.
any modem file for this?? please?
how to repair serial no. after flashing with qfil firmware my serial no. changed to c4atas000000 and model no. changed to Z010D to Z010DD and now volte not working my phone is MSM8939
