[Q] need help after a hard reset with a dial code (*#*#786#*#*)

hello, i did a hard rest to my nexus s 4g that is flashed to boost mobile dialing *#*#786#*#*
my problem is that now the phone doesn't have service and fail to activate, i restored all the settings exactly as it was before the hard reset
but the only thing i forgot to write down before the reset was the msid number
most people msid number is equal than their phone number, but i know mine was different
if somebody can tell me how to know what msid # to input let me know

this post doesnt really help you..... but just for your info, the msid is usually never your phone number. try contacting boost, they should be able to tell you ur msid

thanks, i called boost and they gave me my msid and i have service again, but now the problem is that the 3g icon doesn't show and i don't have internet
if somebody knows how to fix that please let me know

No one was sharing this technique, only trying to sell it.... I work in the cell phone/tech industry too (hxxp://benjamincomputerrepair.com) but if someone is competent enough to do it on their own, why not let them instead of being a jew?
note to admins: THIS IS NOT INSTRUCTIONS ON MEID CLONING, this specificly tells you to use noones meid except your own so this is not considered cloning by any means!!!!!
First of all, be sure to write value "01" to NV ITEM 0855 (I used DFS CDMATOOL) on both modems to enable QPST.)
Follow the directions in this post to change your MEID to the 9900 MEID that appears on your 9k modem (in nv_only mode, NOT the A100 meid in ruim mode). I used DFS's write button (after zeroing out and rebooting) instead of the "requestnvitemwrite meid 0x00#####" method. This post describes the A0XXXX MEID for some reason, but I used my 9900 meid.

You can skip the QXDM part and just use DFS to write 0 as your meid first, then write 9900 MEID (from your 9k modem) to the phone's normal diag port.
Also, DO NOT use any MEID other than one already found on your phone, or else it is a FEDERAL CRIME. No, im not joking, its call cloning and its VERY illegal.

I would suggest doing this before the Data settings above.
The problem comes in because the Thunderbolt has two radios (hence the two ports) and the 1X and/or Voice radio only has an IMEI.
If you use QPST EFS Explorer you can add a directory named 'opensesamedoor' and it will unlock the NVM folder, this allows you to copy NV item 0 and 1943 to your desktop (drag & drop) and then delete them from the phone.
Use a hex editor to edit the two files changing any numbers or letters to zeros. After editing the files you can right click in the folder and add them back from the computer.
After a manual reboot, open QXDM and type 'RequestNvItemRead Meid' if it shows zeros type 'RequestNvItemWrite Meid 0x00XXXX' <-your Meid.
Reboot manually and your Thunderbolt should have it's actual Meid under the About Phone menu.....

Then dial *#*#4636#*#* and set your mode to CDMA/LTE EvDo auto (settings may vary for different roms/people), and under wireless and networks, your mode to CDMA Only and roaming to Automatic.
I'm using 45722.prl
You must set your APN's correctly! And to remove Verizon's restrictions on your APNs, I deleted "mandatoryapnlist.txt" in the EFS, I also deleted the LTE folders in my EFS.
BE SURE TO WRITE ALL SETTINGS TO BOTH MODEMS, and put your 9k modem in HDR mode, and the normal modem in CDMA IS2000 mode.

DFS CDMATOOL and QPST EFS Browser (google "QPST 355 mediafire" without quotes to find a direct link to QPST (should be first result)
From there you follow the any normal flashing tutorial, except for the changes I mentioned above.

edit: I know your MEID may have appeared the same/similar before, but for some reason doing this stops your 9k meid from switching.....

I have been able to get 3g and calls and text working but call will drop and are breaking up. I was only able to get the nvm folder unlocked on the regular diagnostic modem with the a000 meid but not the 9k modem with the 9900 meid and was wanting to know if thats why my phone is acting the way it is.
I have tried using cdma auto prl and cdma- lte/evdo auto but still doesnt help. When I bought the phone it didn't come with a sim but had a few around and I have to have them in in order to make a call but the signal keeps droping in and out and very choppy. In order to unlock the 9k modem do I have to have the original sim? Any help would be awesome cause I am stumped right now and out of options

Issue dressed over the Same Thread by following the below steps from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1706572
Presently on ICS 4.0.4
Baseband Version I9103XXLQ3
Kernel Version: 3.1.10.-I9103XXLQ7
BuildNumber: IMM76D
This was the Only ROM that worked on my Phone.
New Issue Noticed :
1)Serial Number reset to 000000000000 after Installing The Above ROM
2) Unable to Make any Calls (Voice/Video) on a 3G Network from my Phone with the Above ROM whereas Initially on Stock GB I was able to do that. Not been able to do a Video call after Recovering my Phone using the process Above. The only Way I can make a Call is by changing the Network(Mobile Preferences) and choosing a Vodafone 2G Network.
Once I have changed to the 2G Network I am able to Make Calls. But this stays only for a Few Minutes and once Again I am not able to Make Calls. Even though I have Registered with 2G / have Unchecked Use Data , The Phone Activates 3G by itself and I had to de-Activate and come back to a 2G Network to make calls.
The Same Sim when used on a S2/Samsung DUOS/Sony Experia Arc/ Have no issues with Either Calls (Voice/Video)
so Did I do something which is causing this has been a Big ?
If thats the Case how do I Undo the Damage I have Made.
Thought that Serial number being all Zeros could have been an Issue but Various Threads (http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...unter to 0 Install Stock GB .

Interested to see an answer to this myself because looking at it, I've done the same thing to my phone and it is now asking me for a network unlock code whereas before it was not.

I also have the serial number set to zeros on XXLQ9, but everything is working fine. Don't think that it is important.

S7 SM-G930V Cant send/receive MMS.

Hey guys. I Bought an unlocked S7 SM-G930V. Insertted my iiNet Simcard(nano).
Then i rooted it through Sticky thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039)
rooted it to G930VVRU4API3. Android Version 6.0.1
turned on mobile data, and inputted my APN details according to my phone network provider (iiNet) (https://iihelp.iinet.net.au/Troubleshooting_Mobile_Voice_for_Cannot_send_SMS_or_MMS)
Tried a few other APN combinations online such as using Optus's APN details(since iinet pretty much = Optus)
But i am still having MMS issues where i can't send/receive. But am able to use the net/make calls/SMS.
I re-enabled all the bloatware that i disabled by the disabler package pro.
My Question is (Please bear in mind that I have been sent an important image via MMS and i cant download it so i am avoiding anything that could clear that image from my text history)
1) Is it possible to insert my simcard into another phone and re-download the image that was sent to me already?
2) Any ideas? Would flashing to an incompatable ROM cause this?

I inserted another sim card(nano), changed the APN settings to fit telstra's APN settings and now i can send/recieve MMS's(for that other number, and am unable to download the pic sent to me by my main simcard.

Call your carrier and ask them to text you the MMS settings, sounds like the ones you manually added are correct for Data but incorrect for MMS

How to change imei

my network provide is blocking my device and I am not able to make calls, send SMS, and connect to internet through GPRS (2G Network) - almost everything, so I am looking for away to change my phone imei to specific iemi like my old broken phone or any other imei. I searched play store for an app and find this one it works for few days then my phone stops again I don't know why but I noticed that my imei not changed maybe it faking the network in some way... i also find this way anyone tested please ? any comment about it ?
