I have been out of touch with rooting and flashing ROM's for a few years now.
I have rooted my tablet.
I want to flash a ROM but have no idea which one I should use.
I would like a suggestion from someone on a ROM. I do want a stable ROM.
Also just to refresh my memory.
I download the ROM to SD Card, then go into recovery and flash ROM from there. I am using TWRP recovery.
Thanks in advance and forgive if I am not using the proper terminology, it's been awhile!
Mark
Hi wildrat
As you are probably aware we don't allow comparison threads. They can cause bad feeling, plus users can get different results from the same rom depending on individual setups.
If you search you'll find plenty of help on how to flash. Half the fun is to try different builds and see what works for you.
Thread closed but good luck and enjoy

hello i have been here for almost a year and i am looking for the most customizable rom out....i tried to download ivanmmj's juststable and justchome but i believe i am unable to flash through my sd card if anyones has any idea please feel free to post
You don't need to flash through SD to flash my ROMs. My LZX ROMs, you do, but not my regular ROMs.
Either way, this is not a development question. Needs to be moved to the proper sub forum.
But really the best way to find the best ROM for you is to try them all.

Try any gingerbread ROM, they are all stable.
1. I would suggest CM7, or Oxygen.
2. These type of threads are not allowed.

ohh i am sorry .. i am new here so don't know anything.. can you tell me how to install Rom on my phone.. if possible can u come online?
how to install rom
First you have to root your phone
Download Unlock root (search on google for DL link)
enable debug USB, connect to your pc and root
Download a .zip rom (like cm7 or oxygen) and put zip on your SD
After install rom manager and flash a recorvery with the app rom manager (DL from market), you have to turn off your phone, and press "home+volumedown+power"
You are in the recorvery, wipe user data, cache, dalvik cache and do "install zip from sd" and select the zip on your SD
Reboot and enjoy
Google tutorials to root ur device. Once you are done rooting, search xda for oxygen rom cm7 or hehappy's stable ics rim released 7 Jun. Both are stable and gud roms. Fast and fun..

Just explore
Hey, take this in a positive note.
Granted, you are a new user, so you should read the Sticky threads first, which will help you understand the rules, tell you where you can find the most relevant information, and contains quite a lot of information for beginners. The spirit of these forums is to read and understand, not to get quick answers. It should serve as a knowledge base, so useless threads shouldn't be posted.
Then, this kind of questions are not allowed, because there is no single ROM which is the best. Each user will consider different ROMs as their personal best, depending on their needs and usages. Just explore the forums, read about various ROMs and you'll find many ROMs, and some of them will satisfy your needs. Again, see the sticky threads for learning about how to root, install recovery, change your ROM etc.
try out the custom rom GingerSnap by neko95, the most updated rom so far based on latest cm7.2
we dont need this threads..
use every rom and find out whats best for you.

You'll need to checkout the Atrix 4G Android Development section for finding all ROMs available for the device. Read through user reviews and select the best one of your choice. Also, when asking about which is the Best ROM, you'll get 10 different opinions from different people. So its all upto your needs to use the one of your choice.

I would move it for you, but there's a good chance it would get closed in that forum too. Best ROM threads/questions are generally frowned upon around here due to the type of responses (mostly negative) and bickering they tend to generate. Try them out for yourself and see what works for you.
I am new to this device and slightly overwhelmed by how many ROMs there are to choose from. I love the stock software on the phone (i believe its cm11s?) but want some of the flexibility that comes with a custom ROM. im already unlocked and rooted but just looking for the right ROM.
Yes I know I can try to flash and just backup but hoping for direction on a good place to start.
These questions don't really offer much assistance very often, you're just gonna get a bunch of different opinions. Like you said yourself, flashing is the only real way to find out what's going to be best for you. Just have a look through the ROMs, they list their features in the first post of the ROM thread, so it should be easy for you to figure out which ROM(s) has the features you're looking for.
For what it's worth though I run Nameless ROM, it's close to stock but has a killer kernel and good ROM features. Fantastic battery life too. There's no thread for it on XDA though, they have a Google+ community here:

Does that ROM have the camera with 4k and slomo?
No custom ROM does. Only CM11S has it. But you can install it manually.

I am still on the stock 5.0 ROM and was looking to change it up. I have not been on Android since the original EVO 4G so I am a bit lost. I already have root and TWRP recovery on. I am looking for an optimized ROM that is close to stock. I have looked at LiquidSmooth but it looks like that is only 4.4 and I saw xtrasmooth but could not find the download link. Could someone provide a link to good stable ROM that is easy to flash? Also should gapps be flashed immediately after flashing the rom? Thanks in advance.

Every ROM is easy to flash. Just look in the Development or Original Development section, there's plenty to choose from. Also, the first posts usually state whether you need to flash Gapps or not.

I know how to flash, but I am just not sure which ROM to use. So many of them have a bunch of different acronyms in the title that I have absolutely no idea what they mean. Also some of them require you to also flash a kernel or a radio which would complicate things a bit further. Just looking for something that contains everything I need. Also for gapps, my question was if I should be flashing it immediately after flashing the ROM while still in recovery or if I should reboot first then go back into recovery?

Kernel or radio shouldn't be needed anywhere, maybe just in case of F2FS. There are many great ROMs to choose from, just pick one and try it out. Just be sure to read the OP. Also, you won't be able to boot into the system properly if Gapps are missing. Some ROMs have them included, others don't.

Thanks for your help. I have been looking at this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/goo...v3-0-hammerhead-t2616300/page713#post58172446
In the title it states 4.4.4/5.0.2. What is meant by that? Which one is it? Is it as simple as booting into recovery, wiping all, flashing the ROM, flash gapps, and rebooting?

It's best if you read descriptions of roms at their thread. Also is good to read some feedback and reports by people who allready flash it. But the best way to figure it out, which rom is best for you, is to flash it by yourself.

I do read the descriptions, but there are some things that I don't understand being new. A lot of those threads already assume that you should know what these things mean. I couldn't figure out the liquidsmooth rom since it looks like they stopped development in December and the only gapps I found is for a different version. So I got kind of confused as to what I needed.

Understand that. But if you ask something like you, you will get a lot a different answers which can just confused you a little more. Also, you will get the answers by people who do not have same taste/expectations like you. So, best way is to figure it out by yourself.

I would suggest Cyanogenmod. Its very easy to install and very customizable, its close to stock as you wanted, there are stable versions and nightlies(can be unstable/bring small updates/improvements), cyanogenmod version 11 is based on kitkat, however cyanogenmod 12 stable version is in the works and it is based on lollipop, but there are nightlies out now.
