I have Online Nandroid Backup and TWRP 2.8.0.0 installed on my OnePlus One (CM 11S 25R). The phone is encrypted, and I have made daily nandroid backups. Now I need to do a full restore from one of those backups, but when I boot into recovery, TWRP doesn't find the backups and doesn't recognize internal storage (it says 0 MB). So it seems TWRP can't recognize my encrypted partitions. How can I restore my full nandroid backup?
Do I need to do it from a computer somehow? Do I need to wipe something first?
I am a newbie.
Thanks

Hi i need help ASAP,
I backed up my phone with CWM it made a folder as a backup.
When I tried to restore the backup I navigated to the folder and it showed me inside that folder (like there are no files) instaed of starting the backup procces.
one more problem is that now i flashed another ROM with TWR and I didn't know it will be with TWR so I am not sure I can backup CWM with it.
please refer to my 2 questions as it combined.
Can you clarify if CWM is able to restore the Backup ? If its not, then the backup was not made successfully.
To your Question, are you saying you flashed TWRP Recovery and then flashed the new Rom ? If that's the case then the CWM backup can't be restored by TWRP.
EDIT - I should caution you that it is not a good idea to restore the backup made by one Recovery with another.
Well, I have had a problem with magisk yesterday, and I have an old backup of my system and data on my pc. I restored my system but my data backup is about 16gb and i copied it over but there is not enough room for it to restore. I looked up how to restore a TWRP backup folder from PC so I would have the room on my device, and was wondering if anyone had a guide I could follow?
Hello all, I had some TWRP questions that I have not been able to find the answer to because of the way that the question is worded, many other answers are coming up.
1) Can you restore a TWRP Nandroid backup to a device which has no external storage? Can you partition through TWRP and make a separate storage so you can put files there to restore and flash?
2) When creating a Nandroid backup, I usually select everything to be safe. What do you really actually need?
3) When restoring a Nandroid backup, what do you need to get back to the point when you took the backup? System, and Data? Or System Image? Or all 3? etc...
4) I have been trying for the last hour to restore my phone, but after the Nandroid Restore it is stuck in a boot loop, why could this be happening? I have all required restoration files from my Nandroid backup.
do i have to unencrypt my device in order to restore/backup and maybe even flash from on it? I've seen in twrp it tells me backups and restores may not work fully due to being encrypted
No, I guess.
The only partition encrypted is your internal storage and twrp can't take a backup of that.
So, you can try by yourself, just remember to take your cautious.
in old devices I always made a backup of this partitions:
Boot
System
Data
Vendor
And restored without problems, just make a factory reset before and maybe flash magisk after restoration
Hello
I wanted to install Syberia A12 from stock A11 and I got stuck somewhere in the process.
So I'm stuck with the internal storage on the phone (not backed up) that is inaccessible since it's encrypted and the rest of the partitions backed up on the pc using adb backup (a single .ab file).
In theory I should restore the partitions to the phone and I should be able to access everything and boot as it was before, right? However now I have the syberia ROM installed and I'm not rooted anymore (and won't boot).
Can I restore /system like this?
What I care about is access the internal storage, what can I do?
I tried restoring the entire .ab file, however it gets stuck at "restoring efs2" and I should only try to restore /data and /system but I can't select specific partitions being a adb backup with twrp.
All tools I tried to extract the content fails.
