Why can't the Android OS send MMS Video as simply as iPhone? I love my droids, but always wonder why they just can't do this. I know there are other ways to do it, but not as simple as sending on iOS.

I have a nexus one and I have yet to get gingerbread. My question is, in gingerbread (or upcoming honeycomb) is there any indication that gtalk will now support attaching pictures in a conversation? I hate to make references to applications on other OS but i saw that Blackberry Messenger has this feature and I currently use Beejive IM and it has the ability to do it while using gtalk.
Im just askin have the devs said anything about it? all i ever see is information about SIP and video chat.
P.S. I am aware you can just use MMS or email to do this, so please dont mention this. Its along more seamless when able to upload it through an IM conversation
So my first proper smart phone was the Palm Pre Plus with WebOs on Verizon. Have to say it is a good OS but i am glad i have uprated to Android. The only thing i miss is the integration of MMS - SMS - and Google Talk (or yahoo, msn, etc.) in the default Messaging app. I have looked in the Android app store to no avail and was wondering if there was anyone of the Droid experts round here working on something like this? I would think if the WebOs guys figured it out then Android couldn't be to far behind! THX!
I have a Galaxy S4 and want to transfer my SMS and MMS back to my iPhone. I do not want to lose my photos.
I found a software called Backuptrans, but it does not transfer MMS from Android to Iphone. Only SMS.
Does anybod know of a software to transfer MMS from Android to Iphone? I can't believe nothing is out there!!!

Let me preface this by saying that my first phone was an Android, 1.6 Droid Eris, then an iPhone 4s, and now an HTC One m7.
Android has changed significantly from 1.6 to KitKat, but the feature that made it most difficult, for me, (and I'm sure a lot of others as well) to switch from iOS back to Android was iMessage. With all the news surfacing that Apple was aware that iMessage does not deliver messages to Android phones properly, I believe this highlights something larger in the Android ecosystem: Android needs its a better messaging experience.
The messaging space is crowded as all get out in 2014, but there is something common among all of them: they don't default back to SMS if the other user does not have their specific messaging app, example Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, etc.
There is no messaging experience on Android currently that is seamless to the user, sending via data when both users have the same app, yet defaulting back to SMS when it is not available. The closest alternative I can think of is Hangouts. The only downsides to this I can think of is the Google Plus integration some people dislike, lack of customizability, and the possible security risks giving Google access to your texts for targeted ads.
What has been your experience with Android messaging? What features do you wish were built into the messaging experience on Android, e.g. chat heads, delivery/read reports, encrypted texts, instant feedback, or maybe another feature I forgot?
Hey guys,
I know this might be an odd question but when I send images via Messages app, I cannot send the full size image via messaging. Is there a way to stop the compression feature?

I believe that the stock messages app uses MMS and the size are controlled by your carrier. the standard messaging app does not work like iMessage or other 3:rd party texts apps that use "internet" to send messages.
If im not totally off on my information most normal sms/mms have a locked size in kb of how big they can be.
So if you wanna send full size images I would suggest that you and the person you wanna send pics to use a 3:rd party app like Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Google Allo etc. they work Cross OSes, Windows, Android, MacOS, iOS.
Just got this phone a few days ago. First Samsung phone. I found the app would crash after sending mms messages. I finally just loaded Android Messages. Too bad. I hate having redundant apps.
