Is it possible for me to move back to the stock rom from custom rom or not yet ?
It's possible. I'm sure there's
instructions in the development forum.

I can't seem to find a solid answer. I'm running cleanrom 3.0 and can't seem to find a list of compatible kernels. Does anyone have a list of kernels that are compatible?

Just ask in the Rom thread

You won't find a solid answer posting in the wrong section.

Just the stock kernel I believe. Sammy screwed up on posting source so we don't have any custom kernels that are compatible with new builds up
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
the kernel in my sig works just fine.
I already stated it was a mistake. I was browsing in the dev section and forgot to change over. I found a kernel that works. Mods can close this.

fyi in the future questions go in the section marked Q&A. I know its a hard concept but I think you can grasp it
Wondering if there would be any benefit for me to OTA update or is my current ROM CM10 better than stock 4.1.1? Also if I decide to OTA would I have to go back to stock because checking for updates on CM10 only gives me the option to check for CM updates? Any help would be so great!!
My goodness. No, no, no.
Read around the "Google". You should know the answers to this if you flash custom ROMs.

Haha I didn't even wanna bother. Lol
You can't receive OTA update while on CM10. If you want stock Jelly Bean, you can bypass the OTA process and simply flash the JB image with Odin. Check this topic; in section 5, download the VRLBK3 file or check here for a pre-rooted version.
Just making new threads for the same question, huh? Should we flash it for ya too?

Hey guys I'm new to the GS3 and I recently updated my phone to 4.3 and I wanted to root it but there's nothing I can find to root the phone. All I can find is for 4.0.4-4.1.2

From what I've been reading you can root but I'm not sure if you can root once your on 4.3. Custom roms aren't currently available once you take the OTA or there is a good possibility you can hard brick your phone

For now I just want to root the device and run the stock ROM. All I want to do is clean up the ROM like get rid of the stupid WiFi notification and remove bloatware etc...

Very cool. Although if you or anyone took the OTA any custom rom is unavailable currently and may never be available again

Yep I know that. Never been a fan of flashing ROMs anyway. I'm fine with stock rooted. It runs better and I get amazing battery life with the zerolemon

I followed the steps and was able to get root on 4.3 just fine as well. Thanks to everyone for helping me with that.
I do have a question....it might very well be a dumb question but I'm asking anyway,
I've installed Titanium backup and I have the update.zip that I created prior to reverting to stock and then taking the OTA. From what I understand I can't use custom recovery, which was the only way I knew how to flash that update.zip to restore my apps+data. So, how do I flash this update.zip with root on 4.3? Is this still possible?
Thanks again to all for the help.
Saferoot worked for me (its a method designed for galaxy s4). Although I wouldn't recommend it. It may or may not have been the cause of a hard brick for me, but I tried unlocking the bootloader after using it, which is probably what threw it.

No. Once you took the ota you lost the ability to flash other ROMs. Unless one of the Dev's cracks the lock bootloader or finds a way around.

You can pull it from a 4.3 custom ROM or the 4.3 Odin tar file

Nikki try this one from the play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vp.alarmClockPlusDock
It's small and works great. I've had to use it on CM based roms and some aosp ones also. It's less than 1mb

you could pull one one from 4.3 custom TW ROM. Get what im saying? Just download the zip file. Extract it and pull clock.apk. any 4.3 TW ROM should be fine. Can be based on ML1. Doesn't matter
