I can't seem to find a solid answer. I'm running cleanrom 3.0 and can't seem to find a list of compatible kernels. Does anyone have a list of kernels that are compatible?

Just ask in the Rom thread

You won't find a solid answer posting in the wrong section.

Just the stock kernel I believe. Sammy screwed up on posting source so we don't have any custom kernels that are compatible with new builds up

the kernel in my sig works just fine.
I already stated it was a mistake. I was browsing in the dev section and forgot to change over. I found a kernel that works. Mods can close this.

Hello All,
I am a current Galaxy Nexus user but I have come over here to ask a few questions in regards to the I727. My friend owns this device and has just upgraded his phone to ICS 4.0.4 (Build # IMM76D.UCLF6), and he has come to me wanting me to root his phone for him. Now just for a little background, he has never been rooted and has always run his phone stock. He updated through the Kies software. I am pretty familiar with android and the rooting process. My questions is due to the fairly recent release of ICS is there a working way to root this device?
I have briefly browsed a few of the rooting threads and to my knowledge they are only working if you are running either 2.3.5 or .6. If someone wouldn't mind shedding some light on this situation, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hope this helps

So maybe I am a little spoiled with having the galaxy nexus. It just seems that after viewing a few of the threads and topics, that I see a lot of issues with ppl flashing and rooting this device? Now I do understand that most issues are user error..

They are more than likely user error. But you should be fine.

Almost 99% user error from people flashing other variants of gs2 -777, Global version
Also flash cm9 on his rocket as it's insanely better than stock twiz

I prefer aokp. And there is info on the "brick bug" in the link I posted earlier. I would share what my understanding of it is, but I'm not so sure myself and I don't want any misunderstanding of it. So feel free to take a look.

D2vzw is the 'name' given to our variant if the s3 to identify it to apps.
Dunno what you mean by your other question.
O ok I was just thinking maybe Verizon put a updated version out cause of the bootloader getting figured out or something. So If I buy a new one I won't be limited on flashing anything right?

From my understanding (and it's very likely that I'm wrong) the idea between the 2 different dev forums is that the regular development forums is for TouchWiz (in this case) based roms and the original development is for aosp roms. However there are aosp roms in the regular forums so you got me!

I think it's more like OG Android Development are those built from source vs. those that are built off of a base which would be the Android Development section.
The difference in the forum is pretty much official vs unofficial. I.e. original would have the actual CM/AOSP/AOKP/MIUI roms and the other forum would have unoffical roms based on those.

Thanks guys for clearing that up. Looking at this forum I've realized y I missed my fascinate so much. Everything is so much easier than HTC rezound right now. Plus so much More development going on right now. I'm excited lol

I'm running the HE radio and I took the g7 ota. Signal strength went down a bit. I know that all phones are different but let me know what works best for you.
I'm running HE, it works the best for me out in northern jersey. I would say play around with the radios and see which give you the best results for your area.

That's funny considering in order to find this question u have to go into the Q&A section which is the section I'm in! Just saying, not trying to be a smarta** or anything.

Roms have nothing to do with how good a modem works. HD/HE seem to have the best coverage and speed switching between 3/4G.

I guess you didn't see the thread moved part in his post.
As far as modems go you'd have to experiment yourself you won't always have the same experience someone else does.

Is it possible to flash the Franco Kernel to my Skyrocket? I have read his thread and it does not specify which devices are allowed to use it.
Some of the posts have said that kernels are specific to devices so you cannot install it while others say it doesn't matter.
I am rooted, running CM10 Stable.
Any help is appreciated!
No

Thank you guys.
I have been looking all over for the liquid smooth 4.2.2 rom that is RC2.1 and has the 3.0 kernel. I have checked the liquidsmooth website however they only have ATT and Tmobile versions. If anyone can throw me a link to this that would be amazing! Thank you
Try looking in the original development section. Seriously search man

If I've helped, please hit the thanks button.
Actually, it's not in the original development section anymore. Only the USC version. And to make matters worse, it's not on goo anymore. Hmm...Why is it you don't want to try one of the 4.2.2 roms anyway?
Disregard my stupidity. I should probably read the OP before I touch my keyboard. Anyway, it should be in Goo. Here's the link
http://goo.im/devs/liquidsmooth/d2vzw
Thank you for both of your replies. However they are both not what I'm looking good for. I am SPECIFICALLY looking good for the RC2 Liquidsmooth for Verizon. It is not version 2.2. It does not use the 3.4 kernel, it uses the 3.0 kernel.
I have found the Liquidsmooth version 2.2 very easily as it is posted every. RC2 however is not, and as such I am looking for help in finding it.

I'm looking for the RC2 version because in my opinion it is the most stable one of the 4.2.2 Roms .

You're in luck. I actually have the v2.1 stable version in my SD card right now. I'll upload to dropbox and them pm you afterwards.
Edit: have to do it after work. 3G over here at work while there's 4G at home.
