[Q] Anyone tried hack "unlock all band for your Qualcomm" from another thread? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

[Q] Anyone tried hack "unlock all band for your Qualcomm" from another thread?
There is thread, which is post on XDA "home" page. It talks about unblock all modem band for a Qualcomm SoC. They tried on some Sony phones and it should work on other phone with Qualcomm SoC.
I am wondering that anyone tried it with OPO? I am particular instrest to enable 1700MHz 3G for the Chinese version OPO.

Yep I have tried this morning but I got stucked when reading the phone information. I have asked for a specific driver on the topic.

Hope to get it working to enable 800 MHz lte .

BlackSoulxxx just uploaded OPO driver in the page 15.

can't get into persist.usb.eng mode.
I typed adb shell / su / setprop persist.usb.eng 1 and then replugged in the device, but nothing happened...

Just read it this morning...
Holy Mother if this works to unlock the LTE 800 band for Germany, this would be awesome...

I honestly don't believe that trick will work for the OnePlus. It works for other phones where the modem then can "speak" frequencies in it's hardware's amplification range. However if the OnePlus simply lacks hardware support for going down to 800Mhz from the usual Ghz-frequencies then no unlocking can make it work.
On a sidenote, I'm wondering if it's only a licensing issue that made the manufacturers lock the baseband or if those frequencies are unstable / potentially dangerous for the hardware.

It is a licensing issue in China, at least.
Chinese MIIT don't allow 4G phones to support TD-LTE and FDD-LTE at the same time, but Snapdragon 801 hardware supports them. So many companies like OnePlus locked FDD-LTE by software.

Honestly, I don't know now. There are different theories or conclusions on the Internet. Someone said there is hardware difference. Someone said that they compared the specification between the International version and the Chinese version, both use the same Qualcomm SoC and they also get confirmation from the Oneplus support. I incline and I hope it's the second case.

Same here, I did try this on my LG G3 D852 to unlock GSM 2100 & LTE-3. What is happening here is...
1: I followed every step as mentioned in the thread but phone won't install any driver, after adb commands and putting back in debugging and connecting to PC.
2: QPST won't recognize any connected phone..!!!
I am using driver LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN312AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.12.3
No any "other" device is appearing other than as shown in attached picture.
What I am doing wrong...Pls guide me if you have any knowledge of specific drivers. How to use driver referred in thread. Thanks...

So finally I managed to get into, it's really a fun changing bands in LG G3 (Followed as explained in thread), except getting G3 in Diag, which is with "shortcut master, lite" )but I don't get it. I tried every way but 3G/4G won't active, stays in EDGE...!!!
First I selected all GSM/ WCDMA as explained in thread but phone kept searching for network after reboot, I waited for 15 minutes and revised again with different bands selection and it got back in service...but EDGE again.
In the end i selected AT&T bands as given option in MZ-Tool (my friend's G3 AT&T mobile gets 4G reception here but mine is still in EDGE after reboot...!!
Refer to picture for selection of Bands MZ-Tool (GSM/WCDMA) I am from "UAE" so here 2100MHz for 3G UMTS/HSPA, GSM 900MHz and LTE-3.
What should I do...? Pls throw in your suggestions since I am able to make changes....I want this to work...
[/IMG]
I'm kind a noobe about android but at least with knowledge of keyboard and mouse so can follow experts guideline to resolve this...
Since it is D852 (Canadian Ver.) so will ROM from other model going to make any change after band mod..?

Is Flashing a i9020T t-mobile variant Nexus s with an At&t Radio Possible?

Just wondering if it is possible to flash the i9020T to maybe a different Base-band or Radio, pretty much changing it to an i9020A, I have taken both these phone models apart and the Hardware radio is "exactly" the same version!!! So the Radio band is Software/Baseband contingent I believe, On the T-Mobile Vibrant I could get at&t 850mhz. 3G enable via a service menu by entering *#4636#*#*, is there a service menu option to enable 850 at&t 3G or possibly a kernel/Baseband flash to change this phone, Come on software guys throw me a bone!!!
no, the hardware is definitely different.
No the hardware is not different, I have two different model number phones that I took down i9020T and i9020A and hardware is identical to the T.,,,,Also strange thing is best buy no longer sell's i9020A, they Sell the i9020T for at&t service and do not offer the i9020T for t-mobile at all,...So what I was saying before you decided to offer your "OPINION" based on what you read or heard is that the radio is software/baseband and not hardware determined.
You do know I have both versions of these phones and have dissembled and inspected them correct? Just wondering, cause it seems to me you read the title of the post and just started typing away without reading.
Here is the best buy link
if you would kindly check the model number, and also if you would try to search for the Nexus S for t-mobile, it no longer exists on the site....http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+Google+Nexus+S+Mobile+Phone+-+Black+%28AT%26T%29/2356115.p?skuId=2356115&id=1218323076669
I would not go by what they list on a website.
You need to actually find a single t version on att 3g or vice versa.

The RADIO hardware is difference. Your "Vibrant" worked because the PHYSICAL RADIO hardware supported AT&T's 3G bands. The i9020t does not and will not. It does not contain a pentaband HSPA/UMTS radio.
The i9020t ONLY supports the frequencies 900/1700/2100.
The i9020a ONLY supports 850/1900/2100.
You MUST have 850 and or 1900 for AT&T 3G (they use different frequencies in different areas). You MUST have BOTH 1700 and 2100 for T-Mobile as the split their service into up and downstream across both frequencies.
No piece of software you flash is going to what the physical hardware supports.
do you have physical proof to back what you are saying? Because The chipset is exactly the same, just saying, I have both phones in front of me and wireless radio in them is the exact model, bestbuy.com and negri.com are both selling factory i9020T that run on 850/900/1800/1900 1700/2100/1900 bands Quadband and Bestbuy is Selling The GT-i9020T for New At&t Contracts at this very moment,...and I was using the vibrant only for an example, and I understand that you have read somewhere that the hardware is different, do you have a take down video showing different radio/chipset? Not trying to get into a pissing match with you, but I have read the same thing as you have about the i9020T supporting only t-mobile 3G bands, however The Vibrant Example is a reminder only that it is still listed as only supporting T-mobile 3G however *#*#4636#*#* service menu allowed activation of the 850 band WCDMA and At&t 3G worked, Go ahead and argue over and over again though and don't bother trying to explore if this will work or not......
On a side note, XDA has went way down hill since I first Joined, People used to work together on solutions, now there are a bunch of "know it all's" that just come here to share their self inflated professional opinion that is nowhere near any sort of developer experience whatsoever, try getting off your high horse for a minute there and remember this is supposed to be fun and exciting to do cool stuff with our phones.

Here is the radio board it has a Skyworks SKY77529 Tx Front-End Module for Dual-Band GSM / GPRS / EDGE
and a
Infineon 8824 XG616 X-Gold baseband processor ...
These two Items handle the The radio frequencies, The Infineon 8824 is what determines what 3G frequencies are being used, Both Models i9020T and i9020A are using this chipset, the only difference is the Infineon 8824 Chip is flashed with a different firmware one for i9020T T-Mobile and one for i9020A At&t, The baseband is updatable by OTA , it has been updated already on the i9020T.

Frankly you not believing the FCC filing but believing what info that a site like best buy has listed about the phone is comical.
you can flash the att radio onto a tmobile nexus s and vice versa. that IS possible. BUT, you will not have working 3g, edge should work though. this has been done by a few people accidentally. and they have found out that 3g does not work ever again, even after flashing the correct radio again.
Picked up an att nexus from best buy today. It's an A not a T
Went to bestbuy today and they confirmed that the at&t i9020A handles only at&t 3G however they also confirmed the i9020T is quad band and the firmware and baseband is what decides what bands to allow service menu is read off of the baseband so basically what I was told is that samsund flashed the newer manufactured i9020T with at&t network bands enabling 3g because the hardware is there, there is some sort of legal action happening between Samsung and t - mobile that's why bestbuy and Google have discontinued sales of the nexus s for t-mobile....straight from the horses mouth at best buy, was also told ice cream sandwich 4.0 will also have a baseband update to enable the at&t 3g band in those handsets where customers areonly receiving edge data on their i9020T handset that where pervisioned to T-Mobile prior to the product being pulled.

This makes total sense, flashing a radio to a non compatible. Baseband could prove to me disastrous, now a at&t baseband flashed to the i9020T maybe more along the lines of enabling at&t 3g, had a long talk with sales manager at besybuy mobile store today, we talked for over an hour about this subject.

LTE not working

Hi,
I've the verizon m8 outside the Us. In my country the LTE network has started to work during the past week and its 1800 mhz/ channel 3.
My htc is s-off, root ofcourse, viper rom but I cant get any reception with LTE!
accordint to htc sites, the verison m8 is truely support 1800 mhz,
So how can I get lte on my phone?
And please don't blow my mind with "why did you bought verizon model if you're not using verizon", It doesn't matter now. I've already bought my m8 and it's from verizon, it was cheaper to buy.
Nobody knows?
Europe freinds?
I'm almost in the same boat as you, I'm using Verizon m8, rooted, soff, supercid and then I installed android revolution hd 8.1 international version. I got lte band 4 working ok as well as calls, sms, mms, e.t.c.
Sent from my C811 4G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I've also tried to flash the WWE radio on my verizon m8 but after 1-2 minte the device got reboot again and again, so flashing radio didn't help.
Nobody has a solution? Verizon said the the m8 support 1800 mhz - band 3, so there must be a way to enable it.

Hey,
Just got back from Europe. I wasn't able to get LTE over there, only hsupa/hsdpa. I installed nv rom and was able to change the bands, and got my data working. Now that I'm back in the U.S. (as of 12 horus ago), I'm unable to get service, go figure. I was using the newest verizon radios and they worked fine.

Yes, I've also done that. the phone got no signal and reboot itself after 2 minutes. flashing radios doesn't work with cdma phones. I've also tryed install gpe rom (i fought that maybe the sense 6.0 has problem) also didn't work

Dual 4G Dual VOLTE

Does oneplus 6 support Dual 4G standby and Dual VOLTE in India(i.e Two Jio sims simultaneously)?
According to my research, that would not be possible, as most smartphone dual SIM implementations are dual standby, whereas for this to work, you'd need dual active SIMs (with two separate radios), as two 4G-only (this is how JIO works, I understand) networks are unable to standby on only one radio. Unless something changed with Snapdragon 845 modem and this is now somehow technically possible, then please correct me.
What I would like to understand is, if dual VOLTE is suppososed to work on usual 3G/4G networks on the OnePlus 6.
Thank you.

Thank you mate. Could u please update when you have more information about this, because buying this phone for that price without this feature will be waste.
Dual Volte is supported by the SD 845, but it isn't activated on the OP6 and there's no word on if it'll be activated later
It's the latest SD845 with LTE CAT 18 MODEM. So definitely it will support the Dual VOLTE

Thanks. Is this information public, otherwise how reliable is your source on this?
It seems I won't be able to test it myself yet, as even though for the first time ever my own carrier (Telia in Lithuania) is selling the device themselves, they don't support VoLTE on their network... Hoping OnePlus will sort it out and add via software update later.
https://www.qualcomm.com/documents/snapdragon-845-mobile-platform-product-brief
Hardware support definitely available. Software support, well, remains to be seen i guess
Huawei phones already supports Dual 4G and VoLTE. It makes sense OnePlus will follow soon. Hopefully, will see the feature in OnePlus 6.
I guess it is available. Saw it in one of the review videos where the specifically mentioned that he is able to use both airtel 4g and Jio 4g at the same time.
So, I'm not that informed about the hardware and I don't even really know exactly, what you are talking about.
But to me it sounds like this post from the official AMA could be on that topic: (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/...-wireless-ama-now.835469/page-9#post-18434071)
Maybe it can contribute to this discussion. If it isn't on topic, please let me know.

Watch this, he claims that it supports dual 4G volte.
He talks about dual volte at around 5:15 mark .
OnePlus 6 supports Dual VoLTE, at least thats whats was confirmed by OnePlus India twitter handle.
EDIT: Amazon India listing Page now confirms Dual 4G for OnePlus 6
Yes, it does support dual 4G standby. It was confirmed during QnA on OnePlus forums.
Oneplus 6 does support dual VoLTE
Yes, the Oneplus 6 does support dual VoLTE and you can use two SIMs with VoLTE simultaneously!
Guys, I just got the phone delivered and I confirm it support native dual active 4G LTE. I am using Airtel an Jio's SIM with my OP6 and using Airtel's data network. I could make and receive calls from both SIMs.

Hello, Audio quality via the earpiece is very crisp. Network reception is good as well, it could pick up the signal from an area which generally has poor network reception. Audio via speakerphone is adequate and you won't miss a call. About the camera, I find it better than S8 plus (I have that as well. ) I am not starting a debate but camera and audio are very subjective things and telling my opinion.
It supports Dual VOLTE!!!

8T having data/radio issues ... After EU conv

So I'm seeing this issue back in January from other users forgive me for wanting a rebooted thread on current software.
I have a KB2007 with a build now that of
11.0.10.10 GLOBAL-EU KB2005BA
Originally purchased from Sprint, after the merger was given T-Mobile SIM cards and if I call tech support route through T-Mobile SIM network is T-Mobile everything's T-Mobile.
Before the conversion didn't have radio issues and I called tech support today they had me pull the Sim rebooted put to sim back in and rebooted again. It seem help ( before I literally had no connection for phone calls without Wi-Fi calling) as now it can at least show 5G connection. However the upload speeds are concerning I think? I live in Kansas City and have amazing signal coverage typically even in a tunnel LOL
People take a look at this and give me your thoughts? I was about to roll it back over to the TMO software earlier, I was that frustrated.
Bootloader unlocked- Magisk w/ minor modules
Thank you for your time in advance

@OP6Tluvvvaa,
First off, I want to thank you for the level of detail in your post. Usually, when I respond to a post, I have to start with numerous questions, just to determine what the actual question is.
I happen to own a KB2007 on T-Mobile and I am VERY happy with it.
My 5G speeds have been excellent. I live in Las Vegas, which is rated like T-Mobile's #2 network site by speed on connection.
One thing I CAN tell you is you should not under any condition be establishing an HSPA+ connection for your mobile network.
Your speed test App, however, shows you have an LTE connection, which seems much more likely in line with the speed you are getting.
Your download speeds are actually not bad, but your upload speeds are anemic.
Where I live (at home), I actually get better upload than downloads speeds on my 5G connections, this is very uncommon, however.
What is your full BASEBAND version under About phone->Status ?
The BASEBAND code largely determines how the 5G connection is established, and the resultant upload/downloads speeds.
In the USA, if you are on T-Mobile's network, you should have
BASEBAND version: MPSS.HI.2.0.c9-00145-SDX55_RMTEFS_PACK-1.367946.14
if you have a european BASEBAND version, this could be causing your problems.
I'll check right now, what blows me away is that I cannot be the only 2007 model that did the conversion, that is experiencing the issue right? You think it would be widespread baseband issues or not connecting to the right ones.. and that debloating aside it would have been massively talked about on XDA?

Yes, you definitely have an older BASEBAND.
The thing is that on the T-Mobile branded OnePlus phones, T-Mobile supplies custom T-Mobile specific BASEBAND code for the build.
That's the main reason I hesitate to install a "GLOBAL" image to my phone.
I figure that T-Mobile is going to supply the fastest, most optimized code for their network.
Let me to a little research on this. I am pretty sure you can install "just" BASEBAND code on your phone if you are rooted.

So that's what I was going to research myself as well I can just flash an image and where it's located, take a look at this the speed test shows LTE when my signal shows 5G

You would be surprised how many people do minimal performance testing on their devices.
I bought a Nord N10 5G about 6 months ago and I found it wasn't actually connecting to 5G AT ALL.
See this post I made:
How 5G Enabled is your Nord N10 5G ?
I have been noting that my Nord N10 5G isn't getting any better of a connection than my old 4G phone, so I set out to see which bands I was connecting on and which were actually enabled on the phone. I have done this in the past on various...
forum.xda-developers.com
Many other owners of this phone confirmed the same thing, so I returned mine to Nord
What else contained in a firmware package? And buy T-Mobile firmware is that what I'm getting rid of when I do a conversion? Is the baseband contained within that

I am also waiting for someone to test this. Regardless of the bands, Rogers do not always 'allow' 5G and VOLTE on their network for phones that are not officially recognized. I found this out with the Oppo FInd X5 Pro which cannot get 5G or VOLTE on Rogers. VOLTE is especially an issue as it means you cannot make phone calls if there is no 3G.
I am hoping the 12S Ultra does not have this issue and can get VOLTE.

If you can't get VoLTE enabled by default, you can dial *#*#86583#*#* to force enable VoLTE.
Any Canadians receive their phones yet?
VoLTE working as pre activated. (Usa tmobile)
Good to knows - thanks! Would be great if someone on Rogers could also confirm.

Got mine but they sure do take their time. They are cheaper than most however. No duties.
Give a quick rundown when u got time. Does it get 5 G?
Only seen LTE+. However my area doesn't get 5G and I haven't had a chance to test it otherwise.
What carrier are you on please and do you see the VOLTE option in settings?
Rogers, but I have yet to test other options. I'm going to be unlocking bootloader and rooting.

I'm also on Rogers and have ordered the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 which has similar firmware. I'm curious whether VoLTE appears in the Settings/Mobile Network by virtue of your SIM, or whether you can enable it with the Xiaomi dialer code (disable carrier check). If not, I assume you can unlock, root with Magisk and use a VoLTE enabler module or edit your build.prop to get VoLTE. Not an issue for us yet as voice calls drop to Rogers 3G network, but when we follow suit with the Americans and shut down 3G we will need VoLTE to make voice calls over 4G (or one day 5g VoNR).
Finally got my phone. Can verify 5G works on Rogers. I'm in Winnipeg. Cheers
Canadian - bought phone from PDAPlaza - on Koodo
all is working well from a network perspective
any of y'all that have the phone, are keeping the china rom, and have any good tips on how to tune the phhone (debloating, app settings or anything else) please post for us!!
I'm still experiencing alot of little quirks here and there that I can't seem to figure out
I have an unexplained connectivity issue I can't quite put my finger on as the main quirk - like the network performance is generally good and speeds are fast but..there's these times when it seems to want to take a sec to properly connect to a server. Examples would be if I focus Discord it'll say "connecting..." for like 3-5 seconds before refreshing the content - it's a strangely long lag for something so minor. Another one is if I open my friends list in Pokemon go it's unusably slow (while it connects to the corresponding pogo server) for like...5-7 seconds then is perfectly fine. Those are just examples but there's others where it's fine once it establishes the connection but isn't in any hurry to establish it
I haven't noticed any connection issues. Most of the Chinese stuff can be installed. The only issue I have is WhatsApp isn't showing contact names. Just profile pic and phone numbers.
That's just permissions. Allow it to use contacts and you should be ok
Hi there,
May I know can We Unlock WiFi 6E(6GHz) by flashing to EU firmware?
Like the default China MIUI firmware won't support 6Ghz when it's not enabled in China, but I don't know if there's 6GHz RF and Antenna which could allow us to flash the phone to EU version, then able to connect my new router which supports WiFi 6E(6GHz).
