[q] bootloop guides don't work - General Questions and Answers

I am googling for hours before asking for a little of your precious time, but no luck, so...
hardware: MT6589
with Carliv Touch Recovery MTK CWM-based v6.0.4.4
I follow the usual instructions to install a ROM "miui_cubot_one_stas2z_4.1.19_4.2", in my case.
The flashing finished with a "Install from sdcard complete" but I end up with a bootloop. Then I boot to recovery, mounted USB and I saw (on windows explorer) all the files and directories with no changes. I opted for formatting all partitions and repeated the process... bootloop again... No I have access to the recovery, I can flash the ROM but no files appears on windows explorer nor Aroma File Manager.
I think that Carliv Recovery is probably not suitable for my device. I tried to flash the stock recovery or other CWM but I cant boot to bootloader in order fastboot recognize my device.
Is that possible I have bricked my device for good? What should I try more ?
thanks

Before you fix your recovery you will need HTC Sync Software http://www.htc.com/www/help/htc-one-x/#download
And ADB installed from the SDK here http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Once you load the SDK Manager download the Android SDK platform tools. Then download the proper recovery Image that has official support for the AT&T One X from here http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/99
Go to the folder you installed the SDK tools to If your on Windows 7 x64 and installed it using the default paths it will be located here C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools when at that folder move the recovery image file in to that folder then hold shift and right click in the folder select open command window here.
Now get your phone back into the bootloader select fastboot and connect it to your pc when your phones bootloader says fastboot usb its connected and ready to fix.
type fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.1.8.1-evita.img
that will update your recovery to TWRP which is much better than CWM. From there you can select reboot into recovery from the bootloader TWRP will load up you can Wipe /system /cache then mount your phone to your PC and upload any ROM you want. I recommend AOKP or CleanROM and flash away.
People really need to start searching before they post this is somewhere around the 20th post I've seen like this in the last couple days. All want help unbricking and people have posted guides on how to unbrick. Also there are many posts about how CWM for the HOX is highly unstable.

[Q] Clockwork Recovery flash works then doesn't

I am trying to install the Clockwork Recovery on my Galaxy tab 7" series 2. I followed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861838 and used heimdall to flash the recovery.img from cwm-6.0.1.1-p3110.tar (obtained from http://rootzwiki.com/topic/33069-gt-p31xx-clockworkmod-recovery-6011/) .
Heimdall seems to indicate that flashing the recovery went just fine:
Uploading RECOVERY
100%
RECOVERY upload successful
But when I reboot into recovery mode, it seems that I have the standard "Android System Recovery" and not the clockwork recovery. Trying to install an update (to root the tablet) from external storage results in a signiture verification failure. I'd appreciate any help in starting to troubleshoot this.
Well, I got the Clockwork Recovery done by trying another few times. I'm not sure why it suddenly worked without my doing anything different, but it did.

[Completed] Unable to recognize the recovery mode!

Hi, my name is Apurv
I was looking for a TWRP recovery for my Mediatek MT6580 phone Homtom Ht3.
I came across a boot image which said that it is for only mediatek phones and can be flashed using flashify only.
Sorry since I am new, I can't insert outside links and images.
I followed all the steps given on the site and flashing the boot image was successful.
When I checked whether this new recovery works or not, my phone directly booted to Factory mode
with following options:- Auto Test, Manual Test, Item Test, Test Report, Debug Test, Clear eMMC, Version, Reboot.
I don't recognize this recovery. Is it TWRP? Because I believe it is CWM. And if it is CWM then how can I go to the Recovery mode?
I do have Kernel and Stock backups on flashify, if I install them, is it going to reinstall my original recovery?
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi !
the "boot.img" file you have flashed is not a recovery , it is a kernel
The messages you have seen are most probably related to a recovery , maybe stock recovery
Restore the boot img and stock ( I`m not sure what "stock" is ) if you have saved it and if you`re able to restore it
Good luck !

Try finding another recovery. Also I think you can flash a ROM through Fastboot, I am not sure.
