I've looked everywhere for answeres to no avail. So this is my problem, I have a mytouch 3G with out the 3.5mm jack [32B] that I rooted the easy way, Universal Androot. I went into recovery after renaming my rom update.zip, and on the recovery, clicked apply update.zip, but it said verification failed. I learned that the recovery screen i hav, the one with the triangle abd the exclamation point with the image of the phone is not the one I need, so I looked for different recovery screens. I tried ROM Manager to flash clockwork recovery, but it said an error occured while attempting to run privaledged commands, this appeared too when i tried the alternate recovery in ROM manager. Then i tried Recovery Flasher, but it said back up failed. I pressed the invisible button to skip this step, then tried flashing the recovery, flash failed. Please I need some answeres, I don't want to keep looking for more recoveries because i think that they wont flash too.
Hello,
I have rooted my phone yesterday. Now I want to instal a custom ROM. I flashed the phone with ROM manager. Then I select the option: Boot into clockwork recovery. It reboots into recovery but the wrong one. It reboots into the android standard recovery. When I press on apply update.zip it will say signature failed.
I really have no clue what to do, please help me.
Try re-downloading the update.zip file again to make sure that one isnt corrupted
I have the same issue can't boot into clockworkmod. The samsung stock loader shows up
Select update.zip and it should load cwm

Im trying to flash the Clockwork Recovery mod to my sidekick but every time I boot in recovery I keep getting the stock recovery screen. First of all I rooted my phone using the latest version of SuperOneclick Root. Once the phone was rooted I installed both root explorer and rom manager.
I downloaded the modified binary recovery file and replaced it in system/bin using Root Explorer. I used Rom manager to flash the CWM and it supposedly intalled it (it says version 4.0.0.2). I tried to reboot on recovery but it doesnt boot the CWM recovery screen. I the tried donwloading the CWM and placing the update.zip file in the root of my SD card. I then rebooted into recovery and selecte reintall packages and i get the following:
E: signature verification failed.. installation aborted?
Im guessing its the binary recovery file that's causing the problem but I've tried replacing the file again and it wont work. Anyway, does anyone have any idea whats going on and how I can successfully install the clockwork recovery mod??
Yes that would say that it isn't using the correct modded recovery binary. use my modded oneclickroot script to push the correct recovery and update, and it should work.

Thank you so much it worked like a charm!! One question, every time I boot in recovery now, it boots in the stock recovery. In order to boot CWM i have to select reinstall packages every time is this normal??
Currently that's normal. I've got the same thing on mine.

Click to collapse
Yes that CWM is a fake flash and doesn't actually replace your stock recovery so you would have to reinstall packages everytime, unless you flash bali kernel which has the red CWM that replaces the stock recovery when you boot into recovery mode
Sent from my SGH-T839 using XDA App
EDIT: sniped by ayoteddy.
That is normal, as that script uses the "fake flash" instead of having CWM built into the kernel.
A fake flash technique uses a modded recovery binary that doesn't check for signature verification, allowing us to boot into CWM from a stock looking recovery, even on a stock kernel.
In order to have recovery boot straight to CWM, you need to have it built into the kernel, which currently only exists on the Bali kernel (as there's no need to build it for another kernel).
I've read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678055 and tried but after erasing recovery my phone will only boot to the gray LG logo with "fastboot v0.5"
If I fastboot it to flash another recovery (CWM or TWRP) my phone will only boot to recovery no matter what I tried.
Tried the zip file from here http://androidforums.com/esteem-all...ockworkmod-recovery-bootloop.html#post3767889 but still can't boot normally.
Tried flashing different roms while in both recoveries (acura, paranoid android,...), even restore my old ROM backups, but still it boots into recovery.
My 3D and vol+/- buttons seems ok.
Any help?
Just go back to V21E from the res
urrection guide and flash your desired ROM if you are going for CM10.
Then flash the bootloader without flashing the recovery, you already have one and to reboot to it I recommend downloading ROM Manager after installing CM10 and rebooting into recovery with it.
I am trying to install the Clockwork Recovery on my Galaxy tab 7" series 2. I followed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1861838 and used heimdall to flash the recovery.img from cwm-6.0.1.1-p3110.tar (obtained from http://rootzwiki.com/topic/33069-gt-p31xx-clockworkmod-recovery-6011/) .
Heimdall seems to indicate that flashing the recovery went just fine:
Uploading RECOVERY
100%
RECOVERY upload successful
But when I reboot into recovery mode, it seems that I have the standard "Android System Recovery" and not the clockwork recovery. Trying to install an update (to root the tablet) from external storage results in a signiture verification failure. I'd appreciate any help in starting to troubleshoot this.
Well, I got the Clockwork Recovery done by trying another few times. I'm not sure why it suddenly worked without my doing anything different, but it did.
