[Q] Moto G stuck in bootloader - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I have been using CM11 successfully, but my GPS didn't work and when I tried to fix it by flashing a stock rom my complete phone bricked. I have a GSM phone, but I think I accidentally installed a CDMA rom, but I expect that this would be fixable.
I can access bootloader and recovery. When trying to do a wipe or install TWRP gives the error 'unable to mount '/data'', storage, etc. I then tried to flash a stock rom by the following method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219, but I am receiving these errors:
C:\motog\RETAIL-EU_FALCON_KLB20.9-1.10-1.24-1.1_cid7_CFC_1FF_SVC.xml>mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin

I also tried to install 4.3, but it gave the same errors. I have googled and I found more people having this problem, but never found a solution.
When I tried to install 4.4 by skipping the first steps it gives the error 'images is too large' and if I do that with 4.3 it seems to install, but does not boot.
'mfastboot getvar all' gives the following information:

I really hope one of you can help me, and if you need more information I will provide that of course.
Edit: As the info says I am on Boost.en.US I also tried to flash 4.4 and 4.3 of that version, but both gave the same errors as above.

Try to flash this or this and post the result:good:

Thank you very very much! I didn't try that one yet. I tried the second one and now it has booted. I am very thankful as I was already looking for a new phone. It didn't give any error at all.

bro i m having the same issue with the same device model xt 1033 but it had nougat rom earlier before this mess .
Custom recovery is flashable and usable.
In the custom recovery tge interbal memory shows 0mb as space, i presume that is because of inablity to read or mount partitions right??? i tried to flash lollipop stock rom but always failed at partition gpt.bin file. Showing erroe
Pre flash validation failed.
Whhat to do is their any hope left for my device ???
It has been over 3-4 monthe by now, no solutiob so far !!!

That's because you're flashing a non stock firmware. Just ignore that error. Run all commands and all should work properly.

This error also should ignore it?
piv signed invalid system image
Just do not start everything but it stays on the logo and I can not get into the recovery?
I'm thinking that the problem is hardware: ((((

Well I bought it from amazon USA, I'm from Venezuela so I think that's not a possibility? that alternatives do I have? it could be converted into brick? unbrick then?
I also tried unlocking the bootloader and I get the message in purple unlocked and restarted but then goes into fastboot mode as if not done
I changed usb cable and now I get status code = 3, but now does not advance after the warning screen and enter android recovery goes the "no command"

Ok... now your bootloader is unlocked and your warranty gone, so you can try the next level. Follow my thread. You have to use the bricker script, then when your device will be recognized as qhsusb_bulk I'll give you the tool to reflash the bootloader.

how to handle , bro ? thanks
Pretty easy, flash this:good:
If the ROM given above doesn't work.. try this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2700502
Also try clearing cache(and system data if required) through stock recovery if successfully flashing the stock ROM doesn't work!
Hit thanks if i helped!
thanks for helping .. i successfully downgrade to 4.4.2 Asia Retail XT1003 ...
I do it with fastboot from Asia Retail 4.4.4> 4.4.3 Brazil Retail .. Then flashing again to 4.4.2 Retail Asia ( i skipped flashing gpt.bin and motoboot.img ) ..:good:

Hi, @oversleeper,

[Q] how to un-soft-brick MOTO 4G LTE Falcon 4.4.4

I think I permanently soft bricked my phone.
Possible reasons
I tried to to flash cm-12-20150115-NIGHTLY-falcon from recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.7-falcon . I couldn't figure out how to go to recovery mode from fastboot, so I went there with command prompt via "fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-xt1032.img" . From there, I went to flash CM 12 nightly, but I made one fatal error, I never backed up my stock rom The device restarted, but it took me to "Fastboot reason: Fall-through from normal boot mode". I tried to go to recovery and normal powerup, but I got the message "boot up failed".
Attempted fixes
I scoured the interned to find a possible solution, I tried to re-install a new recovery from fastboot, but I always got the message "Mismatched partition size". I tried to boot from a recovery like I did before with "fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.7.1.0-xt1032.img", but I had no avail, as this message showed up:
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.275s]
booting...
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.476s
I even followed this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219 (for restoring the stock firmware), and did everything down to the very letter, and it still didn't work. I kept getting messages like "bab check failed for boot" or "bab check failed for recovery"
I am at my wits end. I don't know if there is anything else to do. If anyone can find a solution to my problem, I'll be forever grateful.
Here is some useful info:
I rememeber updating my phone from ICS to KITKAT (4.4.4) months before i tried to root/flash it.
I bought my phone in the US

Why are you flashing falcon(xt1032) stuff to your peregrine(xt1045)?
They are not interchangeable.

Oh I didn't know that. I'm kind of new to this. Which recovery should I flash?
@croissanwish Hi you have a MOTO G 4G (XT1042 in your case). You need to use this custom recovery https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95864024717072097 TWRP 2.8.3.0 (Credits to Somcom3X). Then and only then flash the custom firmware you want from the http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development area
If you still have issues after that then PM me.

Thanks, I got it to work now, it turns out I was using the wrong recovery.

Maybe I have the wrong ROM? I don't know, it i hard to find a working website. This is the filename
XT1034_FALCON-RETUAWS_5.0.2_LXB22.99-36_19_cid9_CFC_1FF.xml.zip
Any help would be greatly appreciated please so I have a working phone again. This is my only phone. Thanks

[XT1039] CID 0xDEAD: CANNOT FLASH A BACKUP

First I apologize for my english. I bought this phone bricked (perhaps because of a fastboot erase all command) for a very little price... and I'm trying to repair it for personal use. A my friend has a XT1039 so I dumped all his partitions in .img files, to help me restore. The first problem I saw was that the CID was set to 0xDEAD (I think that that means that I can't flash the system sparechunks)... So I tried to restore it via fastboot flash cid cid.img but it returned a "Permission denied!" error. The device boots directly in the bootloader, printing "Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0", but I know that the bootloader was unlocked by the first owner. I've flashed all the partitions of the motorola firmware (but none of the backup that I made whit the other phone) yet, whithout the system sparechunks that return me a "Invalid signature - preflash validation failed error". Another sorry for my poor english, I'm ready for questions, and I post the fastboot getvar all below.

Hi,
Any luck with your set. I have XT1572 with "XT1572_CLARK_RETEU_5.1.1_LPH23.116-18" currently installed. Wanted to update it to Nugget so came across CID : 0xDEAD, channelid : 0xDEAD, unlocked : Not Supported,
C:\WINDOWS\system32>fastboot oem get_unlock_data
...
(bootloader) Failed to get unlock data, please try again!

I need to know if i could install nugget or not.
