Does stock CM11S have USB fast charging? I can't seem to find it if there is such an option. I know that I have to flash to a custom kernel such as AK or Franco to get the kernel portion of USB Fast Charge, which isn't a problem for me as I will try custom kernels later on.
Stock CM11S does not have USB fast charging, you need to flash a custom kernel to enable this feature.

A custom kernel that supports that feature and the kernel tweaker app to enable it.
Try installing AK kernel and enable fast USB charging in "Synapse".

It's sort of like a remote control for your kernel where you get to tweak the settings to your likings. Synapse is for a whereas other kernels will use something else for their app. It all varies.

Ive tried both the AK and Franco kernel, but still cannot enable fast charging via Synapse or Franco Kernel Update. The Synapse app has the option, but when I enable it, the charging screen will still say (USB). The FKU app doesnt even have fast charging as an option.
I also seem to have no effect after enabling fast charge through synapse with ak kernel.
Seems that stock CM11S, even with AK kernel, does not support USB Fast Charge.

Sensation chip is not on the list of SetCpu 2.2.4 even though the post say yes.
Can't find MSM8X60. And I can't change the speed. Maximum is only up to 528MHz no longer 1.5GHz... Help!
OK, first off, this should be in q and a section. Second, did you select autodetect?? I use setcpu regularly and always use the autodetect option.

Your kernel probably doesn't support it.
Which ROM/Kernel are you using?

This. Most custom kernels in here work just fine.

Yeah, you're most likely using a stock kernel that doesn't support over clocking and under clocking. Usually is the case when that happens with setcpu

Well, I'm using stock rom. There's no autodetect options for me to choose. If I want change back to normal frequency then how to do it?

Hi, I'm using stock rom. I must use custom rom to use the setcpu app?
I'd recommend flashing a custom rom, as you get far more options to choose from - more freedom as well. If it truly does become clocked at 500ish Mhz, just uninstall SetCPU and you should be set.

My Linux version is 2.6.35.13-gedc56fa([email protected])(gcc version 4.4.0). Looks like I'm in deep trouble now. About this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159206 how to push the kernel module to my device? Will this solve my problem?
the only way you will be able to overclock you're device is by rooting then flashing a custom kernel...

Install Franco Kernel Updater or Trickster Mod from Play guys, SetCpu doesn`t work properly atm.
Would there be a kernel for this rom when it comes out to enable ac fast charging like that of Francos kernel? Should any CM based 5.0.2 kernel work?

My guess is no. CM11 kernels didn't work with CM11S so it's fairly safe to assume that CM12 kernels won't work with CM12S. But it probably won't take long for custom kernels to be released.

AK kernel works great stock frequencys only changed a few things
Hello guys,
I'm new to Nexus 5 as well.
I have been using Chroma for few months now/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/development/rom-chroma-03-31-2015-layers-t3069105
The version I installed on mine is: 8-10-2015 built.
I have been following the post lately,
many people said, 'franco.Kernel' is a good Kernel.
how do I check if I already have franco kernel installed?
I went to About page, it says: 3.4.0-gbebb36b [email protected]#1
also,
if I want to go with franco kernel, what advantages will i get?
do i just need to download this app thru google play to install the franco kernel?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.kernel.free

That is stock kernel. Recommend using blu_spark (aka code_blue) over franco.kernel. I won't say FK is abandoned, and it is a good kernel, but it's just not updated for the N5 much anymore. Same thing happened to the N7 2013. When the devs move on, you should also.
What do you get with a custom kernel? They say battery, performance, etc. Most of it is negligible at best. You'll need to read the kernel OPs.
hello,
thank you for your reply.
which kernal are you using for your nexus 5 right now?

I use elementalx. It is pretty much stock, but you can mod things. The dev's app is great, too.

Chroma used Franco as the built-in kernel in the past but zephik keeps Google's kernel for a few months.

Better battery life? Negligible.
New features like color control, governors (highest impact on battery life), S2W, DT2W, USB fast charge... It varies for each kernel.

I suggest you to read (again & again) the kernel threads on XDA before flashing anything. Franco is a well known kernel but we have other awesome kernels.
so my nexus 5 is stuck on the bootloop or the chroma logo...
I flashed:
1) chroma_hammerhead-ota-2015-10-05.zip
2) tk_gapps-modular-nano-5.1.1-20150927-signed.zip
then the nexus 5 was able to boot fine, and I saw the phone already has SuperSU came with the Chroma ROM
3) I went ahead download the BusyBox, and installed
4) reboot to recovery , and flashed blu_spark_r30-6.0_hammerhead_40fbe53.zip
my phone is not stuck on the ChromaLogo .....
I have also tried,, on the step 3, I flashed without installing Busybox.. It's a no go either..
any help would be appreciated..
Thanks

I personally use nog33k kernel, gives me good battery life. You can find this in original development forum
