Problematic connection on wi-fi - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I have problem with wi-fi connection. Phone see my ADSL router, I enter my password for the router, tap on "connect" and nothing happen. My phone catches signal from many routers from my neighbors but I can't connect on any of them. In phone is installed cyanogen and 4.4. Can I install a rom based on 4.1 because I think 4.4 is not good for my phone and because of that don't work wi-fi?

please take this to Q&A ......

[Q] Wifi Connection Problems - Vegan-Tab

Need a little help. My G-tab is running current VEGAn-TAB rom. I am having problems getting the wifi to actually connect. My icon shows a good signal, and inside the wireless settings I am showing connected to my wireless network. I also went to advance settings and made sure wifi never sleeps. All apps that need internet connection (market, browser, etc.) show no data connection.
Used yesterday with no problems. My laptop is running on same network and working fine.
Any ideas?
have you restarted? Sometimes happens to me too but it's nothing a simple restart can't fix.
Yes. Restarted several times. Didn't work.
Oddly enough I have a Airave from Sprint to boost my cell phone signal, and it may have been the problem. When I unplugged it and returned to my G-Tab later the Wifi was working. Not sure why.

Could be competition on the 2.4 GHz frequencies. Some wireless phones and even microwave ovens can trash a wifi connection.

Anyone else having WiFi problems with Vegan? Since installing this mod, I can only connect to a WEP signal and not a WPA-secured network.
I can't connect either. Trying to connect to a wep wifi and it stays on "obtaining ip address from ..." but never completes the connection. Any help?

No problems with home WEP, office WPA2-PSK and several wide open public ones. I just wish the damn thing would auto-connect to the ones I have been to before.

My only guess is, if its a 5Ghz N Router you should check to see if it allows
2.4Ghz signals and not just 5Ghz. The GTAB doesn't seem to support connections at 5Ghz.
I just changed over from TNT Lite(latest version) and was able to connect fine but I didn't like the interface and some of the features. I've loaded Vegan tab 7.0.0 and I was able to connect at work (802.1 EAP) network but I can't connect to a wep wifi at home (were several other pc's are connected and working fine) and it stays on "obtaining ip address from ..." but never completes the connection. Any help?
I have a Linksys wrt300n router and have confirmed that it configured to accept 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz signal and have rebooted several times with no luck.
I don't have a lot to add to help you troubleshoot, but I can say that I am running VEGAn Gingerbread RC1 with pershoot's latest kernel. I am able to connect at home on a WAP2-PSK (Linksys Linux based G/N) at home, WAP2-PSK at the cabin (Linksys's cheapest G/N), and at work on a 802.1 EAP network (Cisco).
I has some unexplained issue mounting the internal storage on a computer. After a little head scratching, I started to wonder if it had something to do with the custom kernel I was running. I flashed Pershoot's latest kernel and my problems went away.
I mention all that to suggest that you might try flashing a different kernel and see if you get different results.
I have an issue with vegan where when i reboot the device (or turn off and turn on) wifi is off even if left on when turning off, i have to manually turn on wifi after every boot.

Have you checked to see if you're using MAC address filtering, and if so, that your gTab's MAC address has been added to the whitelist on the router? I get the feeling that that may be the issue. You have the WEP key on your device, but your router's still blocking it. I'm running the same ROM you are, and have had absolutely no troubles connecting to my work network with 802.1 PEAP, WPA/WPA2-TKIP and AES at home, and multiple makes/models of access points/routers.
Hmmm. Just reread your original. Now I'm wondering if you have enough DHCP leases available on your router. If you're out, you'll have to wait until a lease expires or add some more to your scope of addresses.
Hope some of that helped in some way...

Up up up up up
thanks
Had the same problem, try changing the channel on your router, that worked for me (from 11 to 3 wpa/wpa2, b/g in my case). The stock rom had unstable wifi signal for me also, CM7 has much more stable signal and had fewer situations of not detecting or connecting, but wifi signal is still weak as hell... gotta live with that

[Q] WiFi internet shared by notebook doesn't work

I've been looking around for a similar thread but I couldn't find anything helpful. My problem is that when I create a WiFi network with my notebook, and share my wired internet connection, I can connect to it, but there's no internet connection available.
My Inspire is using the newest MIUI build with the Radio that is recommended for the MIUI from the Radio thread. Every other WiFi network seems to work (I have some difficulties connecting to my uni's network but that's most probably not related to this, since my home network and every other network works fine). When I connect to this network, I have excellent signal, I get assigned proper network parameters by my own DHCP server and everything seems to work fine except for no internet connection, no pages load, market cannot connect etc. My friend's ZTE Blade works on this network, and my other friend's notebook also does. I tried pinging the device and from about 100 packets, only 1 reached it. I really have no idea what could be wrong. Thanks for the help in advice
Okay, after testing some more I can't connect to my uni's WPA2 secured networks, only the WEP secured networks. When trying to connect to a WPA2 network it says connecting, then the network quickly disappears and says Disabled or Remembered. Really pisses me off I tried also the "Released for Desire HD - 04-28-2011" Radio, no help with this, either.

I would try a different rom. MIUI uses CM based drivers for WiFi and BT. I would check there.
Tried the official CM7.1 ROM, same result, and actually every other WiFi network works, so I don't think it has to do anything with the ROM.

Try a non CM based Rom. They use the same drivers as MIUI is based off of CM. They use open source drivers instead of the ones built by the device manufacturer.

Wi-Fi connecting to wrong network

Hi everyone,
Ever since installing the OTA Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 update on my Desire S, I've been having problems with the Wi-Fi. When I'm at home, my phone keeps connecting to a BT Openzone network nearby, and I have to manually choose my home Wi-Fi. I could understand this if the BT connection had a better signal, but it only has 1 bar compared to 5 from my router. I constantly tell it to forget the BT network, but the next time I turn Wi-Fi on, it connects to it again.
Is there any way to permanently forget a Wi-Fi network, or to tell the phone to default to my home connection?
Thanks.

Yes it is password protected but I hav entered the right password, with the same password I can connect to the wifi with other devices but with android devices I am having a problem
It's happen all android phones when;
-You far from WiFi
-Many people connected that WiFi, and it's reached max. limit
-Install & Delete VPN's...
-Maybe you or someone blocked your device from router.
Solution :
Unplug your router and plug again. If not work forget your password from Android Phone and re-connect it.

Actually the wifi I am using is provided by my hostel so here only the registered devices(they have registered the devices using the IP) are allowed to access the wifi, so I am using connectify to take that wifi as input to my laptop and from my laptop I am providing wifi so dat I can use it in my mobile. But with android devices I cant access it.
I m sitting rit next to my laptop, nd m da only user trying to connect to my wifi, i tried forgetting pass and re-connecting. Nothing worked.
I'll try 3rd option could you tell me how to Install & delete VPN's. Thank You
I was meaning its happen when you using, install, uninstall VPN.. U don't know VPN so u don't use it ;D
You said "I can't connect any android devices" that means your android devices don't have problem. It' s about router.
