Wi-Fi connecting to wrong network - HTC Desire S

Hi everyone,
Ever since installing the OTA Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0 update on my Desire S, I've been having problems with the Wi-Fi. When I'm at home, my phone keeps connecting to a BT Openzone network nearby, and I have to manually choose my home Wi-Fi. I could understand this if the BT connection had a better signal, but it only has 1 bar compared to 5 from my router. I constantly tell it to forget the BT network, but the next time I turn Wi-Fi on, it connects to it again.
Is there any way to permanently forget a Wi-Fi network, or to tell the phone to default to my home connection?
Thanks.

Losing Google Connection on WiFi

At home, when connected to WiFi, I seem to lose the connection to Google, for example for Google Talk. My WiFi connection is strong, but if I leave my phone for 10 minutes, when I turn the screen on the WiFi indicator is white and I have to open Google Talk to get it to then connect.
Wifi policy is set to never sleep. When on regular data connection I have no problem.
I'm on CM RC4 with Netarcy 1.3.2 and I also recently got a new wireless router as an AP for my bedroom, so I wonder if it's to do with settings within that?
Anyone with any ideas?
Old thread, same Problem. Anybody solved this?

WiFi won't disconnect when out of range

Hi all,
I have HTC One S from T-Mobile and noticed a big problem with my WiFi connection.
My phone will connect automatically to the wifi network in my home/work correctly, but when I leave and am clearly out of range of my wifi network (say, a km away), the phone still claims to be connected to the network, but I of course have no actual connectivity. The signal strength it reports has varied, from full strength to just a few bars.
I try giving it a minute, but it seems stuck and refuses to officially disconnect from the network. The only way to fix things is to toggle my wifi on and off, at which point it goes to mobile data since it can't find any wifi networks to connect to.
The thing is that I use Wireless Bluetooth headphones and since I started using my new phone, the signal drops (I believe it is because of the Wi-Fi not disconnecting from the network and is causing disruptions to the bluetooth connection).
Any ideas how to resolve this issue? Thanks.

Work wifi

Hey guys I still cant connect to my works WiFi.
From the WiFi settings menu. When ever I try to connect it does nothing but says "saved"
My nexus 4 and 7 never had issues. IPhone connect just fine and other people with android phones either connect or can't
I need help, and the WiFi and whole network gets power cycled every weekend. It is a large WiFi network with the same ssid broadcasted from many repeaters throughout the plant
Were you able to solve this?

[Q] WIfi disconnection on certain networks

Hi everybody!
I'm using the latest build of CM11S (KTU84P), When i'm connected to my home network (using a Dlink 6740H1 router) the connection to the wireless network will stop after a few minutes.
The wireless icon will become orange and there will be no data transfer what so ever. When I'm connected to other wireless networks the phone works fine and does not disconnects.
The "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" option is checked and the "Avoid poor connections" is not checked, further more I've tried flashing franko kernel but it didn't change anything.
Other phones in the house (HTC one X) does not seem to suffer from the same problem, did anyone ran into this issue before?
Thank a lot!

*cough*
i have a similar problem with the latest rom.. KTU84Q (38R).. my wifi wont connect to my home AP.. never had this issue pre 38R.
Did you find a solution to this problem?
I have the same problem..
I am also having this problem.
I'm having the same issue with our router at work. Have you tried setting up a static IP for your home network?
problem with wifi: i connect to a network (password) and everything is ok until i go out of coverage. when i go back in area, the phone scans/finds the saved network but does not connect auto, i have to turn off/on wifi and then it connects.
on all networks, dosen't matter the router model or type of network (password or free, static/dinamic IP)
Try deleting all the saved Ap and re-add them. Seems it worked for me, now it connects to Wi-Fi. I had many saved from trips (hotels, pubs Wi-Fi with password and many free)

WIFI issue

Hi, I keep losing internet connection whenever I am on WiFi, although signal is strong and WiFi icon keeps showing full in notch. I already reset my router and network. Anything else I can do? WiFi is always on during sleep, by the way. All other devices and smartphone work fine on my WiFi network, it's only the OnePlus 6.

Some routers have a setting you must disable, or else the op6 can kill the internet for a few seconds.
LAN>Switch Control and set Nat Acceleration to Disable (on router) may not be the right path for you to go on your router but search for nat acceleration helped me on my Asus router.
