Hey friends.
G Pro 2 is a great phone, but it lacks developement. There is a too small range of choices
Some of you might know Cloudyfa. He makes great ROMs for the G2. I tried his work, and I loved it.
I asked him, if he would develope to G Pro 2, if I would raise money to buy one to him, and he said, that he's in
We have this great phone, with great capabilities. what we don't use.
Let's make our phones better, and make them worth more.
I will find a place, where we can collect the money. I start with 10$. If many of us give just 5$ we can easily make it

Before it slipped my mind, I wanted to say thank you to all the community members, Roebeet especially as well as the other developers here.
This site has been a god send and was the deciding factor in my purchases of my G tabs.
My wife and I have been bickering back and forth as to what to purchase.
Myself having worked as an APPLE tech I was hesitant to buy the iPad, but the wife "had to have one". Now that my Tab is running like a Swiss clock she wants me to pick her up a G Tab of her own. Says she can no longer justify the price point for the iPad.
So again THANK YOU for making my purchase and experience a joyful one. And for saving me the money my wife wanted to spend on the iPad. Now I'll buy my Boxee Box with the money I'm saving...lol
I second that. Thanks to all the Devs..
I fully support the comment and am very greatfull for the outstanding work done by the developers on this forum.
Hands down to you guys.
Thank you
I just upgraded to a One X on AT&T from a captivate. Now I have said captivate... and no particular purpose for it. I plan to flash every ROM available for it just for fun, but I don't know if there are any good applications that would give me a reason to keep it, or if I should try to sell it.
Anyone know what a phone like that would go for at this point (2 years after release)?
Captivate? Brother to the Galaxy S i9000?
Perhaps 150 quid, that's how much i paid for my SGS a few months a go when i bought it second hand, and it was cheap to get it for 150.
But if you're interested in testing roms from captivate devs, you'd earn some serious kudos for it. Doesn't hurt to have allies, especially devs
Testing ROMs wouldn't be a bad idea. Although, I cant test call quality anymore.

Personally I would donate it to some charity, the phone is near its eol and developers will be moving off to new phones but to make sure ask around in the phone's forum to see if any dev will like to have it, its always good when they can test on another device...
Donate to charity, donate to family, donate to developers, keep it as a back-up, or just tinker with it to learn about how phones work.
Install Linux on it?

Price point? $50 if in moderate condition. Higher if quality is near-mint condition.

Kids? Try turning it into a kid-friendly wifi-only device. (Not as easy as it sounds)
I'm getting ready to turn an old Samsung Admire into an XBMC remote...
Or, as mentioned above, test ROMs.

I am in the same position and thinking of making my Desire HD a WiFi only device for my young lad to play games on during car journeys etc.
Does it blend?

Hey Folks,
as my HTC HD2 died last week after 4 incredible years i was looking for a new Phone to go for.
After making some research on the Net i decided to buy a Motorola Moto G.
The price/performance relation seems to be stunning due to the countless reviews i read about this device.
Maybe there are better ones (related to price/performance relation) which are available in Asia but it is a pity,
that these devices are most kind of still not available in Germany or maybe also other big parts of the world.
This Phone is often mentioned as a beginners model in many reviews. I do not see it like that, cause the
specifications of this phone are at least for me more than enough. Even as a heavy user which plays a lot due to
modding and custom-rom related stuff.
I asked myself how many People will buy or bought already a Moto G. Will this device be a global break through?
What do you think? For that question i wanted to start a poll to count how many Users we have got here on XDA.
I hope that i made the right decision for me and that there will be a lot of development for this phone in future.
EDIT: Sorry for the mistakes in the poll.
i think for the money the g is a great device. but even for the money i KNOW in the US you wouldnt find a phone with similar specs in that price range. alot of the reviewers negative remarks on the device are just being picky. Trying to rank it up with devices 2x the price is really not fair.... But the fact that it does what it suppose to do as a phone in the real world and offer unlocked platform SHOULD have any xda member look twice at this phone! the g will be a welcome addition and to me will show that you dont need all these touchwiz and sense ui to make a phone great while offer it at a price point thats just not seen in todays smartphone world!
also should have my g in my hands later today so i cant wait!!!
I don't own the device (more interested in the Moto X, but skeptical of lacks of devs and roms), but I hope the Moto G is a good landmark to look back one day at the transitioning away from the whole overpriced post paid contract business model of American carriers. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be seen as a breakthrough by the mass in US since everyone see the worth of phones being $99 or $199 with their contract, so even without contact which they aren't used to the Moto G isn't seen as anything different for them. Whether it's a breakthrough or not is depending on how many billions Google decided to run ads campaign for it compared to Samsung and Apple for their devices.
I love what Google is doing with the prices though, already a decent chunk of people to demand better value for their money and hopefully that will grow and cause other manufacturers to adjust their prices. Besides you wouldn't want to pay a few hundred dollars extras just for the privilege of using something with more bloatwares with slow updates.

Yes, another defector here. I went and ordered a Moto G. The price ($179) was too compelling for a good midrange smartphone. The infuse was getting to the point where I wasn't happy with the performance any more. Don't get me wrong, it has served me well over the 2 years I've had it, but like most things, the time has come to move on.
Sure, the Moto G is not a high end phone like some other previous Infuse users have moved on to, but the moto g is definitely a couple steps better hardware wise. Actually comparable to a Galaxy S3. So for me, it will be a nice upgrade.
I'd just like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the devs who have worked hard to keep the Infuse dream alive. I'll stop in every once in a while to see how things are going, and wish you guys and gals all the best.
I want to give a big thank you to everybody! From the amazing devs to the friendly and intelligent members of this Forum, you have all made my time here with my Gear 2 Neo exciting and fun! Especially since Android Wear became more than a hopeless concept idea, to being a damn near perfect and successful project. I still can't believe you were able to make this happen! (I'm looking at you @biktor_gj ) You're a genius and deserve everything that comes your way. I am more than grateful to you for putting your hard work and time into this and not only making it a possibility, but made it into a successful port. I'm truly amazed. Right as I found myself using my Gear 2 less and less, you brung it back to life and made it easily one of the best, if not, THE BEST, Smartwatch on the market currently. Someone mentioned recently that you are the Cyanonogen Mod of Tizen. I couldn't have said it any better. Your ability to make that happen tells me you have a promising future ahead of you in the growing Smartwatch industry. Keep on keeping on my friend!
Ok.... So speaking of how great a dev you are and your promising future.....
I made a decision today that I hope I won't regret. I sold my Gear 2 Neo on Craig's list. I was able to get $220 for it with it being a year old! Wanna know why? Because of your intelligence, dedication, and hard work you put in to putting a successful Android Wear to it! I had so many hits on it because of this reason alone! So thank you again. I've been spreading your name and directing people here to see for themselves.
So, no I'm not currently watchless. I would never do such a thing! I have been eyeing the Samsung Gear S for quite a while now but ever since I was able to install a stable build of your Android Wear on my Neo, I never pulled the trigger. Just couldn't bring myself to do it............ Until yesterday. I was able to score a deal of the century that I just couldn't refuse on the Gear S. I bit the bullet and purchased it in HIGH hopes that you may do this yourself in the near future and bring your genius dev abilities to the Gear S and can build a Android Wear for it as well! It's an amazing smartwatch all around with the exception of not having Android Wear (at least that I'm aware of) on it. So please please make this happen. Lol. If you're curious of the deal I got and might even wanna jump yourself ( he has quite a few left at this price btw), here it goes:
EBay listing:
Brand New Galaxy Gear S in White
GSM Unlocked
Limited time offer of $219.99
Buy it Now or Best Offer
Free Shipping with express fed ex shipping
I shot them an off of $200 with my fingers crossed and hitting f5 100 times and Bam! Offer accepted!
(I can post a screenie as proof.)
So I made $20 in the process of selling my Neo and getting the S.
If you or anyone else is interested, feel free to PM me and I'll send you the listing link.
So thank you all again. You're all awesome and i would have never been able to enjoy my Neo as much as i did without you! I'm not leaving this Sub so I won't say Farewell. I love to see the progress that goes on and love helping just as much as I can.
