I got a Lenovo S850 from China and it came rooted from factory. I deleted apps I shouldnt and it booted up with constant security warning. I download what I thought was the correct rom and it did not install but phone would not come on. I found a rest of world rom to install that I thought was correct but after install imei's were missing and it had nvram warning in wifi. I have fixed that issue permanently but still with any sim card it says no service and a manual search fails.
Not sure if the first rom made a mess of the partitions etc but I have no idea why etc.
Just wondering if there was an expert that could connect to my pc via team viewer and take a look at it as I can connect it via adb but no idea what else to do. I think partitions are messed as in custom recovery it will not mount anything and had to adb sideload root.zip.
I will return it under warranty if I cant sort it though they may refuse to fix if they see it has a differnt rom on etc,
Anyone help?
Thanks
Simon.
Hi,
I can't find anything for your device on XDA, so you would need to ask here and hopefully someone can help. Otherwise I suggest you contact the manufacturer for original firmware and Flashing instructions...

Good luck!
Thanks I will ask there.

hi everyone, i have an Alps gt-i9500 Samsung Galaxy s4 clone with MTK 6572 hardware, which is as of the moment unusable. i was trying to replace its stock rom with a custom rom because it had plenty of problems and it was slow, so i researched plenty of tutorials on how to do so, i came across SP Flash tools and followed the steps the tutorials gave, but i didn't have any luck. i had the not enough storage error which made me format my phone using sp flash tools which emphasized that i should choose the "format whole flash except bootloader" option but still faced the same problem, so i tried the other option, the "format whole flash" so now i am in trouble and couldn't get my phone to work. SP Flash Tools is giving me a BROM ERROR: S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAILED (4032). i searched for possible solutions to the error but all their methods didn't work out for my phone. a blogger even suggested that i might have formatted the EMMC of my phone when i chose the latter option in SP flash tools, i don't know what to do.
Can i please ask for the help of anyone who had encountered the same problem? or someone who knows how to recover it? thank you so much in advance.
PS: i wasn't able to back up using mtk droid tools but i was able to do so in the stock recovery. i also had downloaded backup stock roms from other users who had the same phone. thank you again.
Hi,
I can't find any useful info for your device. You will need to ask here for help,
> Android Development and Hacking > Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
And know that any files related to the Samsung device could lead to bricking your device. They are for Samsung devices, not the clones. Completely different hardware. Nothing made for Samsung will work for you.
Good luck!

I run a Micromax Canvas Tab P650. I committed an error.
I edited the build.prop file and changed the whole of that to that of Nexus 5. Now, when I rebooted, my GUI became very strange and apps stopped to work. Somehow, I re-edited my build.prop file and pasted the original content. Now, when I reboot, Nothing appears but Canvas Tab(the boot screen).
I do not have any nandroid backup.
I do not have CWM OR TWRP.

Error while flashing stock rom
It showed me this message. Kindly do help

Hi,
Changing or flashing anything not made for your exact device make and model number usually causes very bad issues, sometimes bricked devices even. Not a good thing to do.
Here's a thread with links to your firmware, make sure to get the correct one...

If it won't work, your device may have other more serious issues, and you can ask for help here,

The rar file of the stock rom which I got from the link provided by you is not getting extracted properly and winrar is showing errors.
Please help me.
You will need to ask in the thread I linked about that. ?
I have been searching for answer over 10 days, but still can't figure out how to resolve this. I don't how exactly it bricked, it just couldn't start anymore. I can get into recovery menu, but there isn't any option to recover android. It was rooted before, and worked normally. I cant find any other way to flash any rom on it. I appreciate any help on this matter, tnx in advance!

What seems confusing is that there may be some Arnova's made by Archos. Archos has a forum, but sadly, Arnova does not (not finding much about your device either).
At any rate, try the thread/forum above, and be patient with regard to a response. This seems to be a rare device, so it would be harder to get the attention you need.
Hope this helps, and good luck!
The other way
I understood that the complete system is wiped out. I can use adb while its in recovery menu. I used it to transfer official system image onto it, but in its options i cant find it. I transferred it to multiple locations, all of them can be seen in recovery menu but all are empty. I wonder if there is a way to flash some other android version on it? Or some ROM like CWM, but apparently there are no official releases. And since i am not very good at this i wonder how to make sure that kernel is OK? Can such thing be done? It has Android system recovery <3e>

CWM is a recovery, not a ROM, but can be used to flash ROMs.
With 3e, you should be able to flash the stock ROM for the device via adb (called side loading). So that may work for you.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I believe there are lots of existing thread similar to this topic however, in my case, I really got confuse and it makes me difficult to handle since I am not really good into this kind of situation. Primarily my device is not branded and I read many tutorials but it doesn't work.
So I have this tablet from my friend and he says that the devices is already rooted when he got this one, so he went to the system folder/file and he change the settings on that particular file explorer without knowing what is that for but he never delete any files and after he restarted the device, it only shows the main logo and it went black. there is no display at all. However, when I tried to wipe and reset the device via recovery mode, it only says that the formatting was successfully done. But when I restart the device, the same thing happen.
Again, the main problem ( for me ) is this device is not a branded one, or let me say it is not international model like Samsung, HTC and other known brands. I've been digging in to this forum but most of the time, their devices seems very familiar and known like Samsung that has supported drivers and software but this one is not really known by many. So I came here to ask some help because my friend says he didn't have any backups or anything to restore this one.
I tried to use ADB sideload ( I found some sort of tutorial here ) however, signature failed. So my question is, it is possible to load a fresh Android OS on this device without clock world mode? I think the devices is not totally dead, since I can still access to recovery mode, so I expect that maybe this can be recoverable?
I only got some few details of this device for reference purposes but I don't really know if this works.
Device Name : Fabtab Quadro 8
OS Version : Android Kitkat 4.4.2

Hi,
I recently bought an Umi Iron and believe I have accidentally managed to soft brick it (based on what ive found on google and the forums here) I need a way to get it working again and have some ROMS (2 official ones) which are compatible for the device. The device will boot into recovery and allows restoration from an SD card, ABD Push or the cache. The cache is empty and although i have searched for how to do it from an SD card i have found no information (I've tried putting the .zip files onto the device and installing those but the device says "installation aborted"). I have a SDK which I am attempting t learn to use in order to fix the device. Any information about how to use the program/get the new ROM flashed via fastboot would be much appreciated as I have very little knowledge of what I am doing as I have never attempted to root or flash a phone. The phone comes pre rooted from the factory (I dont know if this info is relevant but I'm working on the assumption the more info i can give the better). The device entered this startup loop when i removed an app which i had accidentally installed as a system file while trying to use an app to move it to my SD card. Any information and help is much appreciated
Hi,
I can't find anything relevant on XDA for your device and issue, but perhaps the members in this thread can help..

Hi Darth,
Many thanks for your reply, since i posted this thread I have done some further research and narrowed the problem down further. The device runs android 5.1 and there is a setting in the developer settings which locks the OEM bootlocker. This is the issue i am having. Because the device has this option checked, I cannot unlock the bootloader to install a custom rom to rectify the issue as i cannot turn the device on to access these settings. I have seen many people have had this problem with devices and android 5.1 including Nexus and HTC phones. I have been unable to find a fix for this issue though so if you know of any articles which may point me in the direction that would be most helpful
Thanks again
I would say the best place to ask about that is in the thread I linked above. But if that's not helpful, you could ask here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257421
Every device is different as far as if or how the bootloader can be unlocked. So you really need an answer specific to your device.
Hope it works out for you!
